May 31, 2012So i have a gmail email sender and when i change the credential username and password to variables it says over load resolution is there a way to fix this
SMTP.Credentials = New System.Net.NetworkCredential(useraa, passaa)
but if i use a textbox.text it does work.

I can send emails quite easily over SMTP, but can not find a way to recieve them (over POP3 or IMAP using SSL). I need to get the message body and the sender from each email in the inbox. It also needs to be native and can not use pay-for-use COM's and such. I am using Visual Basic Express 2010. Is there possibly a simple mail client program that is open source in VB.NET that I can tear apart?

May 27, 2012I am trying to Send an Email with an attachment (using Gmail) but I keep getting errors like "Operation Timed out" or Failure Sending Email". It was working earlier today but I found out that i needed to add Using statement because the email was having a file open that had to be deleted after it was sent but afterwards it doesn't work.
Here's what I have (Portion of it):
