I have an application with a String variable that repeated gets a Date from a database, does something with that field, then goes onto the next row. Is there a way I can send send out some debugging information to the stdout console so I can debug better/view the progress of the program?

I'm trying to adapt a VBscript that runs the QWINSTA command against a text file I've defined as an array and displays the results in a text file.after looking at numerous examples on Stack and other sites this is my latest iteration, that displays everything except the STDOUT, which is really what I'm after, not sure if it's an issue with how I'm calling the command piping the output or what. I'm also passing two variables as arguments to complicate matters :)
The Text file that stdout is piped to is empty after the FOR Loop completes I may be going the long way about this, most of my past experience with this is in BATCH

send the text from a certain line in the hidden console window to a textbox in the form, but I need this output while the console application is still running in a hidden window. Since I am going to have multiple instances of this console application running, I have assigned their processes to an array and each have a separate "hidden" console window. After I launch these applications (with different arguments assign to them), they require no input and will run until I ".kill them" using the GUI.The console application was written in the old C and it's source code scares me.

Im having trouble with streamreader.. It keeps locking up the debugger after the first 3 lines.. The last line being blank.. There is basically a status readout screen that updates every second or so with statistics about the Video Stream in the FMLEcmd.exe program

I new to this Forum and relatively new to VB programming. I have read some really good posts here and thought I would ask about a perplexing problem I'm having. I createdindows Form application, built it and deployed it with no problems. However, when I added a small block of code, re-built the app and went to add the app to the Project Output Group in the file system editor the project was not in the Project drop down list. I closed the Setup project and deleted it from the project folder and checked my code and re-built the app and tried the Set Up project again with the same result
View 2 RepliesI need to build an forms app that 'posts' or 'sends' text commands to an external console process, called Minecraft Server It is a java-based process, filename 'minecraft_server.jar'. Run by my computer via 'java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui'. The Process ID I assume would change each time it's run. This process can be downloaded here: [URL]
I am guessing that I need to:
1) find the Process ID for it, based on its process details, such as Command Line
2) figure out a way to 'post' these commands, commands such as "stop" into the console window

I've got an old dynamic link library that I'm using which was created primarily to be used in a console environment. As such it generally indicates what it's doing through Console.Write(). I've recently created a windows form which is using some of the functions from this library. I'd like to be able to grab the console output and place it in a textbox on my windows form so that the user can have some indication of the progress (right now it just says "Working").

I would like to have my output in columns, and the numbers in two digit after the decimal.
I am writing a data validation app where the app asks the user for input like give me a number of double type: and hopefully the user will comply.
But the app will test some validation rules and then:
1) if the user simply pressed enter the app will tell the user all sorts of reasons why the input was rejected. And that part should look like a table with columns for the entry, if it passed true, otherwise false and then the reason line empty input. Or this number is a string.
I need a walkthrough to :
1. Get a list of available usb ports
2. Send an output signal through the usb (if possible with variable intervals)
3. Close the usb port (so that no signal (current) comes out )
I am trying to insert the contents of text boxes and combo boxes that an end user will fill out and choose based on the services they need and we support.I can't for the life of me remember how to insert a line break in the output. Basically I want the info to appear as follows:[code]Right with some tweaking, I got them to separate so they are more readable, but at first it all ran together. Like I said, the coding is done and the program sends the email, I just need some line breaks in my output so it is easy to read for whoever needs to decipher the issue.Since I am not at work, and if you need to see the part of my code that does the output to email, I will be able to do it around 8:30am East Coast time.

I am using the below StreamWriter and function process. The process runs correctly and it rights to both a data file and an error log. The error log however always says PASS for everything. do I know what to set the if consoleOutput = "????" to?
