I have just developed a solution with a Windows Service Application project and an accompanying Setup project. Is there a way to specify in either project the domain account under which the service should run?

I'm using the system.IO to do some copying & deletion of files and directories.This is working fine as long the service is using an user account. If I set the selection to 'Local system account' then it is not possible anymore to delete or copy files.
View 6 Repliesi have a Windows service that is hosting a WCF service through net.tcp and this is working great. I have also created a WCF service application. I am trying to add the net.tcp service reference to the service application. Then I add it to the GAC that goes ok but if I try to RegAsm the WCF service application to allow it to be called from Server.CreateObject I get the error:

I have a question regarding how can i use a method name configurable to be called.
E.g
1.I have a xml file with three elements looking like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<root>
<element attribute1="a" attribute2="b" attribute3="Send" />
</root>

So after i add the values to the list, for example : element.ThirdElement() will have the value from attribute3 ("Send"). Also element.secondElement() will retain the value from attribute2 and so on.
I am looking for a different kind of solution here. I have a database in which I have around 14 tables. I have to write the output of 14 seperate queries to each of these tables in to a comma delimited file. I know how to write it using direct read , loop through and write to text. What I am looking for is a more configurable solution. I should be able to configure my application if a new table/query needs to be outputed. I should also be able to configure the delimiter to use.(I am Ok with C# or VB.NET )
View 1 RepliesThis is a bit of unusual problem that I'm experiencing, but recently one of the users of a production application started reporting errors in the system. These were traced to a 503 Service Unavailable error when making a call to a web service used by the application.
Now here's the odd part, only the one user is affected by this issue. Other users of the application have not reported any errors. When the user logged on to a different machine that worked for another user, they still received the error.
Does anyone know how to run windows explorer with an admin account while logged in with a non admnistrative account? i want to be able to open up an admin share on a remote host with windows explorer instead of iexplorer. I tried some code I found on the net to impersonate but it didn't work.
View 2 RepliesIm developing an application with Visual Basic 2005 and Oracle Database.It runs perfectly in my developing computer.When I am going to install it in the customer servers, I do it:
1. I install Oracle Database in a dedicated server with Windows 2003.
2. I install the Oracle Client, my application, Oracle Develop Tools for Windows and .NET Framework 2.0 in other dedicated server with Windows 2000.When in this second server, I login in Windows 2000 with "ADMIN" account, the aplication runs 100% perfectly, and oracle database too.
But the problem is : When an user try to connect to the second server without be "ADMIN", (So he's a simple user) the application runs but when it try to connect oracle an exception occurs (in the end of this message I put it).All folders of my application and oracle database have all permisions to all. What can be happen? This is the exception (sorry because its in spanish)[code].....

make a application where I can store a lot of account information in a file on my computer. This is how it works so far.I have a class called "AccountInfo" with some properties such as Account Name, Password, etc... This is bound to a DataGridView via a Bindingsource. So basicaly what I'm asking, is how can I save/load all these accounts in my computer easily in a file or something?
View 2 RepliesOk this is what I'm stuck on:I have 2 ListBoxes and 2 Lists, let's call them ListBox1, ListBox2, List1 and List2.List1 needs to be associated with ListBox 1, and List2 with ListBox2 I loop through a bunch of accounts, add them to LixBox1 at run-time.During that loop I add each account number to List1 so now the account number is associated with the ListBox index number which is right.Now when I double click one of the accounts in ListBox1 it is added to ListBox2 (but it still remains in ListBox1), and the same index of List1 added to List 2, now the account in ListBox2 is associated with the account number at the same index in List2 you see where I'm going with this?The issue wtarts here.When I double click an account (let's say the account at the first index) in ListBox2 it should be removed from the list, so now I remove the index from List2 since it's no longer needed, but now you know what's happened right? ListBox2's List indexes have all decremented by 1 because I just removed an item from the beginning of the list, but List2's indexes have stayed the same (at least that's how it appeared when I tested it).
So basically whats the best method for keeping things in reference? I was told about list boxes in another thread of mine, but is it really the best way to go about this, I can't seem to keep everything linked together reliably.

I added a web reference to another web service with no problem. But I could not add a web reference to MY OWN web service. It was blocked by a Discovery Credential dialog that could not succeed. After days of communication with godaddy tech support they stated it could not be done (for security reasons).
