I am using a DataGrid, in VB, I have a check box. If it is checked I turn image.visible to true. This is done within the ItemDataBound method. How can I get it so when the check box status is changed, the DataGrid is rebound and uses the if statement to decide whether to show the images or not? [code]...

I am writing a program that shows random images in three picture boxes. When I open the program the initial images are in the picture boxes. When I click stop, the program is supposed to select a random image out of five. in each picture box. However, when I click start the images go away and when I click stop, no images appear. There is also a message that is supposed to come up on the screen, which it does. I just can't get the images to show. I am using Visual Basic 2005.

How do I use a ObjectListView to show all the images in a image-list ? In the home-site of ObjectListView they have shown how to do this in C# (I am not that good with c# and delegates). But I can't get it to work in VB.net.
View 1 RepliesI am stuck in showing images of a requested webpage using Httpwebrequest/httpwebresponse (VB.net) classes. I can make calls to get the target webpage and display the result but it doens't show the images.
What I come to know through googling, is one way to add <base href="target webpage url"> tag in <head> section of resultant strings received through httpwebresponse and the display the modified result. For this purpose someone suggested me using Html Agility Pack.

In a VB.NET winform App I want to place icons on each tab header of a TabControl.I set the ImageList property of the TabControl and for each Tab I set the ImageKey property.My icons show as expected on each tab at design time within the IDE but when I run the App, my icons don't show (an empty space is shown instead).
View 1 RepliesI am trying to setup a treeview control to display all drives and folders on the PC. So far I can display all drives and folders but the images will not show except rarely. I am using an imagelist with 4 images (index 0-3). The code below is used to load the drives in the treeview control. I have tried using every type of image possible from bmp to png and nothing. I have tried the Appllication.EnableVisualStyles() which I now know isn't needed in vs 2008. I am also having problems with a picturebox in another form that shows nothing but a shadow of the image. I suspect this may be a setting somewhere maybe in vs 2008 but am not able to find one.

i'm making an app which uses a webbrowser control to show some offline (not cache) html pages like a slide show. let's say pages in a folder on the desktop etc when it came to testing the whole thing, i figured out that the images in the html are not visible on the webbrowser control. instead there is a space where the image should be, corresponding the actual image dimensions.and when i right click on this empty space where images should be, and click on properties, i see the image size given as -1 byte (minus 1 byte) and there is no image type.
however given any online url's to the same webbrowser control or opening the same html pages with the real internet explorer i got no problem and see the images.i've been googling for almost 10 hours for a solution without success, so any hints are welcome. used vb 2008, .net framework 3.5, ie 7.
I am making a program that takes pictures of the webbrowser control on a set timer and save them in a picturebox.. I then use backgroundworkers to check the images against others stored in the program. My issue is, the backgroundworkers do not properly check the images against the ones I have stored in the program.Could this be because the images and picturebox are stored on the main thread, and no in a background worker?In other words, I am taking picture from my webbrowser and putting them in my picturebox. Then, I am comparing them with images already in the images. The only problem is, the workers are unable to properly compare the images.

View 4 RepliesI call .show() and .hide() on a form and then I want to determine the current state. I've been checking .visible to determine if the form is visible, but I've stumbled uppon a problem. My form is being rendered inside a SplitContainer which I collapse each time I hide the form. So, by logic once I hide the form with .hide() it is no longer visible, and since I have collapsed it's container, even if I call .show() it would still NOT be visible couse it's container is closed.
So, how can I simply check if .show() has been called rather than checking if the form is visible.
The final goal is to show() / hide() the form along with collapsing / un-collapsing the container.
P.S.: I know I could simply check the container and show the form accordingly, but my form also supports detaching from the container, so that wont work for me.

I have a spreadsheet that has two columns (A and B) - Column A contains Month/Year and column B contains sales. I would like a bit of vba that will look in column A to find the month/year then calculate from column B the average sales for that period. So for example:
Date Sales
Jan 11 500.00
Jan 11 250.00
Mar 11 152.00
Apr 11 116.00
So in other words there can be a number of lines with the same date/year and the code will need to identify these and average all sales from column B associated with that particular date. I would like the output to appear in a summary table showing the total average sales for each particular month - perhaps this could be output to a new sheet?

View 1 RepliesI have developed an application in VB.net which uses R Programming language. The library that help connect VB.net to R is called R-DCOM. The application requires the user to install R-Programming language into the user's computer. The application was working all fine until there was a version change in the R-Programming language. The specific libraries involved with this are: Interop.STATCONNECTORCLNTLib.dll, Interop.StatConnectorCommonLib.dll and Interop.STATCONNECTORSRVLib.dll. It also uses StatConnectorClnt.tlb, StatConnectorSrv.exe and StatConnLib.tlb to run the application. Is this something related to "DLL hell". Is there a fix to that I may not have to recompile and install the original code and install them to the user's computer all over again.

I realized that when I release the API for 3rd party plugin development, someone would be able to create a loader program to replace my main program quite easily. Is there any way I can make the plugin dependent on my main program? All my main program does is get an icon and a description of the plugin from the DLL plugin (using the interface) and then calls the dll's interface function to create and display the form.

The first combobox contains Locations while the second combobox contains offices for whichever location is selected in the first combobox. I would like it to work as follows: user clicks on first combobox to select a location, and then the second combobox lists all the offices for that location.As of right now, the second combobox is just displaying the first office that is in the first record for the respective database table it is pulling from.

Combobox1 lists locations, while combobox2 lists offices for each location. I would like it to work so that when the user clicks on combobox1 and makes a selection, the 2nd form loads with combobox2 showing all the offices for the selected location.
