Source - Mu Online Game - Can't Make Right "Server Status" To Show Online Or Offline
Jul 28, 2009I have working on 1 program that is for Mu Online game. Its Mu Launcher program,but i'm having trouble with it. I can't make right "Server Status" to show Online or Offline I can't make autoupdater people to have using this for theyr server.
I make one file launcher.txt to get info the program but i need a lil help to finish thise program. The program is not for 1 server only its freewere . So here is the problem with the Server Status and AutoUpdater to get info from what server..

Dec 10, 2009How do you restore a dataset to the previous state before updating the database with a data adapter? I have a concurrency update problem that I believe to be caused by this. The update fails during the update and a rollback command is issued using a SQLTransaction object. However, now the rowstates of the rows that did not have errors have been changed to unchanged. So this record is no longer availible to be inserted into the database. When I updated the value that could not be null and then test the second update which runs just as the first does then I get a concurrency error. The update code is below:

System Timer - Checking Message Status?
Jun 9, 2010I have application that use MSSQL database. Application have module that is using for sending messages between application users. When one user send message to another I insert message in database, and set message status to 1( after user read message database I update and set message status to 0). Now, I am using system.timers.timer for checking message status, and if message status 1 user get alert that he has one message inbox. The problem is that this application can be used by many users, and if timer run ever 5 minutes this gone slow application and database.

Sep 28, 2011I am currently trying to develop a chat application which will work on a LAN, however encountering problems with with adding a user through the registration form, always getting the result :: "Datatype mismatch in criteria expression" I've tried checking and cross-checking the datatypes used in both the database(its a .mdb database,, created in Microsoft Access)this is the code i am using:

I am writing an application for booking conference rooms and I need a login form.
I have created my database called Users in sql and inserted 2 default login accounts, admin and default.
I dont know how to compare the data in my database to the data typed into the username and password text boxes on the login form.

The problem is. is that when the database is down we can't use the system. So we are tasked to modify the system to have offline access feature without data replication rather making a xml cache or any flat file data cache.
My question is, what is the most optimized way to make this work?
BTW, the offline data should be synchronized when the server gets online.

Oct 12, 2009I am using SQL server express 2005 as an backend. I created a backup file programmatically. If I use same server , then it restore the data successfully. however if we try to restore on different server, then it fails. and throw following message:
"The Backup set Holds a backup of a database other than the existing 'DatabaseName' database. RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally."
On both server, Sql server instance name and database name is same. How can I resolve this error?

.NET Framework 3.5 Offline Installer Is 200 MBs Larger Than The .NET 4 Offline Installer?
Jan 13, 2011I have code/support an application built on .NET framework that has always run on .NET 2. This year we are upgrading the application to use .NET 3.5 (or 4?). In preparing for this change we noticed that that Offline Installer (required for our customer base) for .NET 3.5 is 200+ MBs bigger than the .NET 4 offline installer.
Here are my questions.Why is the dotnet 3.5 installer so much bigger than the 4 offline installer?
Can we TARGET .NET 3.5 but distribute .NET 4. In other words, is .NET 4 backwards compatible? Assuming that .NET 4 was the only installed .NET could application still target earlier frameworks?
IF our application is compiled for x86 CPU (rather than Any CPU) do you still have to distribute the x64/x86 Client Profile or can we just distribute the x86 Client Profile? In other words, can we distribute the x86 Client Profile even though it will be installed on x64 machines if our app is compiled for x86 target CPU? Any risks or gotchas for doing this?
The issue is that if we upgrade our app to target .NET 4 there are a lot of application servers that we also have to upgrade which effects a number of other applications.

Jul 31, 2011First off, I am new to ASP.net, so this is new territory for me.I am using Telerik controls on a VB.net project. I get the following error as a javascript error for every action on the form. Changing any value, whether its a telerik slider, a radio button, asp:button, submit button, telerik rating. Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500
I understand that the 500 error is an error thrown when the server doesn't have any more details, however I was hoping someone might have had a similar situation and can point me the right direction as I have a good feeling it has something to do with the Telerik controls.
I was able to submit the form using javascript however then I get the following error, and I don't know if they are related or not.Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.
Check Status Of Print Server?
Feb 12, 2009I have an automated program that batch prints PDF files to certain network printers. On occasion our print server will go down & screw up the automated printing process & lose prints. I am looking for a way to check the status of the print server before sending prints. If the status is not "OK" then I want to pause the automated process until the server is back to "normal". Can anyone tell me how I would check this status or where I should be looking?
