VS 2008 Start/Stop Stopwatch From Another Method?
Jul 19, 2011I am writing a Windows Forms Application using Visual Studio 2008 Pro .NET version 3.5 with STRICT and EXPLICIT options both ON.
I am having trouble using ".Start()" and ".Stop()" for my stopwatch method from other methods. I have tried several different methods of writing the line that calls the start and stop, but none work, and VS keeps sending me in circles with its correction suggestions.

Apr 15, 2012I am a total newbie when it comes to VB but I'm starting off with a few simple projects I've completed already! Basically Ive seen MANY stopwatch tutorials but none so far have been able to do a simple format of Second and Milliseconds 00:00 and NONE have been accurate in the slightest and have been totally off! create a simple stop / start stopwatch that is actually accurate that would be great as Im going around in circles trying to find a tutorial on this!

Apr 7, 2012 why the title has "(con't)" is because of this Form Resize With Control Sizing... almost named it with another thread on here. And I wanted to post, but it was already a 'Zombie Thread'.Thanks to _HAWK_'s post #11, instead of declaring every control I use. Would declaring it an array (fast guess - Label<Array(how many - 1; aka - X)>) work? ... that was probably Java... My point has probably been made, or can I just do Label.Scale(variable)?I had already set my declaration of the form I need to do this on "Resize". Jan 14, 2010I have a program that uses two forms. The program opens to the Main form, and the user can navigate to the other form from the Main form through use of a button. Here's the way I've currently written it: When the Main form loads, it declares and instantiates the other form during the load procedure. When the user presses a button, the second form is displayed by means of the ShowDialog method. On the second form, there is a Return to Main Screen button which closes the second form, bringing the user back to the Main form.
So, here's the structure of the code:

Here's my reasoning: Originally, I wrote the code so that a new instance of the second form was created every time the button was pressed. The problem was that whatever data was displayed on the second form, previously, was lost when the user returned to it a second time. Since the user would be switching back and forth between these forms, frequently, I needed that data to persist.
What is the best practice for accomplishing this:
1) Declare and instantiate the second form on program start, as I have done, and use the button simply to show the form?
2) Declare and instantiate the second form each time the button is pressed but maintain the variables on the Main form and pass them ByRef to a custom constructor for the second form? Is this even possible?
3) Something else?
Child Form Not Refreshing When I Try To Start App From MDI Form

now if i try to refresh the items of combo box of Register form from Desig form, then it is not refreshing. i.e. i can't see my new items in that combo box on Register form.
