I'm attempting to do something that I know should be simple but I keep messing it up somehow. First, I'm attempting to change the font color using the color in the font dialog box, but the color will only work with the next character entered into the rich text box. Second, I'm trying to use a button to switch the font and background colors.
I am trying to figure out how to print a string of text inverted so the background would be black, and the text would be white. Is there any way to do this using drawstring? Been looking around, but am not getting anywhere.
what I am trying to accomplish worked with the code in the last thread I posted a while back. I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled, and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled. My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:
Public Class Settings Private Sub LinkLabel1_LinkClicked(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.LinkLabelLinkClickedEventArgs) Handles LinkLabel1.LinkClicked MiDNiGHT.BackgroundImage = Nothing[code].......

How can I make certain items in my content menu Bold or a different color etc etc i.e. menuitem3.bold=true Dim buttonMenu As New ContextMenu Dim MenuItem1 As MenuItem Dim MenuItem2 As MenuItem Dim MenuItem3 As MenuItem menuitem1.text="Choice 1" menuitem2.text="Choice 2" menuitem3.text="Choice 3" buttonMenu.MenuItems.Add menuitem1 buttonMenu.MenuItems.Add menuitem2 buttonMenu.MenuItems.Add menuitem3
A TextBox has the Following Words; " ABC : 12" , "EGF : 15" and "JUT : 02".I want to have "ABC : 12" to have Red color Font, "EGF : 15" - Blue Font and "JUT : 02" to have Green Font.Is it possible to do this? Changing the "Fore Color" in the "Property" of the TextBox changes the color of all the Texts to one color.
The other problem I am having is (how) to get these sorted according to the Number shown with the ABC, EGF etc,. They should be arranged either in ascending order or descending order. Each one is displayed as a String ("ABC : 12" is a String but "ABC" is a String and "12" is a Double converted to String).
I am using several instances of a panel object I am creating.I would like to be able to draw a diagonal line from the upper right to the lower left corner of some of the instances.I have been able to create the panel with a background image that has a white line on a transparent background, and I can switch it on and off, but I would like the line to have the active text color. How can I make an image object that uses the system palette?
I am trying to use a background image for one of my programs and I get this error when I try to make the BackColor Transparent. It allows me to use the Background image I want but I get this error when I try to change the BackColor to Transparent. A Box pops up that says "Property value is not valid.", then when I click Details, it says "Control does not support transparent background colors."
I want to replicate what I have with a Mac application. I want to fill the background area of a PictureBox with grids as shown in the following screenshot (right below the blue arrow). What I have is a simple translation of the code that I use with this Mac application to create the background area, which doesn't quite work.Private Sub PictureBox1_Paint(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e
As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.Paint Dim g As Graphics = PictureBox1.CreateGraphics() Dim i, j As Integer For j = 0 To Math.Ceiling(PictureBox1.Height / 20)

How can I create alternating background colors for listview rows while only using ItemTemplate? I don't want to use AlternateTemplate because I would have to edit both of them everytime I want to change something when all I'm using it for is to create the alternating background colors. So what's a way I could do it using only the ItemTemplate?
I want to change the Forecolor and the Font color of the DateTimePicker. (The one Narrow white window with Black font which appears on dragging "D.T.Picker" control onto the "Form").
So far, I couldn't do it.
I found the same question (by someone on 31st Aug 2007) and answers by Figo Fei in the forum. Figo fei said, "It is truly not possible to directly modify the forecolor of the DateTimePicker which is concealed in its implementation. However, there is a workaround to change its forecolor through own-draw mode in a custom control inherited from dateTimePicker.". And he gave the code which looks like - for me - either VC++ or VC#.

i'm currently wonder how to let the users change the font size via a combo box(I have it set up for Small,Medium and Large) That should be fairly easy. The next is more complex. I want users to be able to browse for an image and use it as the background image of the program.
Alright inside of a combo box I have a list of colors and I want to change the background color of the combo box to the selected color...basically this... but im not sure what the problem is here anyone have some advice or is this not possible?

everything tests well but when I evoke the function the dialog values default to selections other than what the text was originally/last set to (e.g., color, font, size, etc. in the dialog/menu is not what is shown in my rich text box).how I can set the above values per the text being recalled in the RTB? That is, in the above scenario if I hit the cancel button I lose the original text formatting.

I am trying to make a program that basicly, on the click of a button, removes a font from the windows font list (Un-installs it) Is there a way to do this using VB.NET (2010)The reason I want to do this is to make a program to remove the 'Comic Sans MC' font from all computers I use my pendrive on?
how will I set the font style and font size of my textbox in a programmatic way? Also, if possible, a code that displays the different font style on a combo box.
I have a scenario to resolve using the font dialog code below. In brief, everything tests well but when I evoke the function the dialog values default to selections other than what the text was originally/last set to (e.g., color, font, size, etc. in the dialog/menu is not what is shown in my rich text box). I'm creating a basic text editor and I wish to include the option to change the font, font colour and background colour of the text box. Is there a way I can ask VB to display a font/font colour selection box or do I have to populate a combo box and code it all myself?
Is it possible to apply two font effects to a New Font?
Like this:
Dim fnt As Font = New Font(Me.Font.FontFamily, 10, FontStyle.Bold, FontStyle.Underline).Obviously, this is too many arguments, but what is the correct way to apply both the Bold and Underline font effects?
I'm trying to use Linq to loop through all fonts in the %windir%Fonts folder and find the one that has a property title of "Arial" (or any Font Family name supplied), but I can't seem to access the font properties (things like "Title", "Font style", "Designed for", etc.).
The following is only giving me the basic file info: Dim fontDir = Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("windir") & "Fonts" Dim fontFiles = From file In My.Computer.FileSystem.GetFiles(fontDir)
I need to search a term in pdf file to get font of all occurrences of the term with its corresponding font information and next 5 words of each occurrence.
I use a fontdialog box in my application allowing users to change the font details within my application. This works fine but unfortunatly I don't seem to be able to set the values in the dialogbox as they are read only.
Basically if the user has Bold Wingdings set and wishes to change it to something else then when they open up the fontdialog box I would like to be able to set the font to wingdings and bold so the user can see what they previously selected. Word seems to do this so why cant I?
