Background Image Will Not Switch Back From The Plain Background Color Of "control"?
Feb 19, 2011
what I am trying to accomplish worked with the code in the last thread I posted a while back. I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled, and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled. My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:
Public Class Settings
Private Sub LinkLabel1_LinkClicked(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.LinkLabelLinkClickedEventArgs) Handles LinkLabel1.LinkClicked
MiDNiGHT.BackgroundImage = Nothing[code].......
I have a TextBox that displays a color as its background color and the background color code in its text. I have set the text color as Black. The problem is that if the user sets the color as Black then the color code will be unreadable. How do I set the text color programmatically so that it becomes readable when the user selects any color?
I have an image saved in a bitmap (bmp) as a result of some graphic manipulation. Part of it is transparent. And I can save it to a file in bmp, jpg, png, tif with no problem. I also want to fill the image background with a color of choice, which is saved in a PictureBox control (ColorBox1). I suppose I need to draw a rectangle like[code]...
Ive been working on creating a side scroller game, and the back color of my pictureboxes needs to go. when transparent, it shows through the program and onto whatever is active in your Windows os(usually Visual studios).
I am trying to rip pixel color off of the background image picturebox( the level), and replace parts of the character picture box that show transparency with the level art. there may be poor logic in my code?
Heres my code:
Dim newImage As Bitmap = New Bitmap(PictureBox1.Image) Dim backImage As Bitmap = New Bitmap(PictureBox2.Image) Dim ximg As Bitmap = New Bitmap(PictureBox3.Image)
[code]....
not the best idea, but all i get is one color for all the level pixels placed in the new image, which is odd. any poor logic you see in this code that could allow the newImage.setPixel not to be 1 color? when i breakpoint, it is recieving different colors from the backimage.getpixel, but only putting one shade on for setpixel somehow. im not going for an accurate color read from the background yet, just wondering why im getting 1 pixel color for the whole picturebox background when being changed.
I've been following you for some time, and many of the things you've done have helped me a lot, but this time I got stuck and need the help of an expert.I'll explain my case:I'm developing an assistance programme for an online game, and being this the 10th version I release, I wanted to do something special for the users, so I decided to make the programme based on tabs and give it the aspect of a new skin of the game that will be released soon.
As you may have guessed from the Title, I want to change the gray that is arround the flat buttons and on all the border of the tabcontrol, which is docked to the form. Here is a picture of the programme. To colour the tab buttons I used the following
Private Sub TabControl1_DrawItem(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DrawItemEventArgs) Handles TabControl.DrawItem
[Code]...
The problem is that I don't understand how to apply the "A Completely OwnerDraw TabControl" to my project, my knowledge isn't so far yet. Is there any way I can achieve the same results using something simplier? Or if not, could someone explain to me how to apply it without making any mistakes?
I have a basic window that has 20 buttons (One, Two,.....,Twenty).Currently if you click on a button its background color changes, and changes back on next click.I'm looking for a way to make it so when the mouse button is held down I can drag across the screen and it will change every button I hit.Disregard the "Shut Down", "Restart", "LogOff", "Clear", and "Invert" buttons. This idea doesn't apply to them.
Dont know what happened but on every form whichever control is related with an image in the resource is not displaying image. I mean the background image field in every control is blank...
I'm attempting to do something that I know should be simple but I keep messing it up somehow. First, I'm attempting to change the font color using the color in the font dialog box, but the color will only work with the next character entered into the rich text box. Second, I'm trying to use a button to switch the font and background colors.
I'm trying to make it to where when you hover of a specific button the background image changes and then changes back when hover off. Right now i'm using this code: Fun_mess_around being the location of the image When I set this it doesn't do anything.
I have already posted this question on the "reporting services" forum and received no responses, so i thought i'd give it a try here.
SQL server 2005 SP3, VS 2005, vb.net, RV control.
When i add a background image to the page header, body and page footer, The rendering takes about one second per page. Without the background images, it renders about 25-50 pages per second. My report is a statement print report and has about 1500 pages.
Since it is the same image on each page, why does the server need to send that image over and over again to the report viewer control?
In vb.net i have the Report Viewer control and i bring up a report in normal viewing mode. when i click on the print layout mode, or have that mode set up to be the default mode, It takes forever when i have a background image and virtually no time for the same report without the images. The images are gifs about 5 or 6k each. I have chosen to embed the image into the report.
How do i optimize the usage of background images so they do not interfere with the rendering speed? Or at least minimalize the slowdown.
[EDIT:] I have discovered that if i render it to PDF and open the PDF and page through the report, it is much much faster. In other words if i choose to render to 'printlayout', it is say 25 times slower than when i render it to default, and about 20 times slower then if i render it to PDF. And the PDF contains exact rendering for all pages, exactly the same rendering as the print layout mode generates.
In my project, I have a form with a background pic that I like, but unfortunately, I also have a ListView on that form which covers most of the picture. Now, is there a way to find the part of the background image concealed by the ListView, and then display it as a background image of the ListView at decreased opacity? You know, like a vague image.Just one more thing, setting the form's transparency key to the background color of the ListView is not an option.
I am working on a windows form project and having some problem with UserControl Double Buffering.I created a usercontrol and has a background image, then on top of it I have few radio buttons and labels. Radio buttons and labels are all having transparent background as color. However, when I show and hide the User control, I can see the flickering on those labels and radio buttons that has transparent background. And I tried
Me.SetStyle(ControlStyles.DoubleBuffer _ Or ControlStyles.AllPaintingInWmPaint _ Or ControlStyles.UserPaint _

I have a question of VB event handler and color picker. Now I have a label, and I want when user click it, it pops up a color picker dialog and let user to change the background color of the label. Not sure how to implement this, can anyone give me a direction?
Alright inside of a combo box I have a list of colors and I want to change the background color of the combo box to the selected color...basically this... but im not sure what the problem is here anyone have some advice or is this not possible?
I want the background of my form to be the same color as the window frame color that the user selects, even if that changes. I selected System->WindowFrame as my background color, but it always remains a dark grey, regardless of what I have my window color set to. How else would I achieve what I want? I assumed I was doing it the correct way. Do I actually need code that gets the system window color and then apply it?
Right Click drop down menu using ContextMenuStrip. The background color of an unselected menu item is set with "BackColor".The color of the text of a selected menu item is set with "ForeColor".How to set the background color of a selected menu item? Default appears as a dark grey and I would like to change it.
I am using .NET 1.1, so I don't have the access to listitem object. I would like to change the text color or the background color of certain items in a listbox. can it do it in .NET 1.1?
Im developing a web browser and i got an idea of changing the background color of the form 1 so i made a form 2. created 1 combobox and 1 button. The idea was to change color of background and then when i start the program after closing it it will remember what color and start up same color as before? Here is what i did but it doesnt work:
I currently have a picture box and it has a MouseHover event. When the picture box is hovered the picture will change images. But when it is not being hovered upon I need the picture to switch back to the original image. Is there anyway to do this.
Currently I have: Private Sub picOpen_MouseHover(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles picOpen.MouseHover picOpen.BackColor = Color.White End Sub
I don't know what I did now, but I managed to somehow have form1's properties show background color as black, but it is a light silver color and no matter what color I assign it, it will not change. right now form1 is empty of textboxes, labels, etc. There is code in it for my menu and the other forms.
