I have an image saved in a bitmap (bmp) as a result of some graphic manipulation. Part of it is transparent. And I can save it to a file in bmp, jpg, png, tif with no problem. I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled,and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled.My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:

I'm trying to build a music player app. I want to have it set up so the user can choose your own background from picture files on your computer. The code I'm using to save the registry file is:

The error message I get is 'System.IO.FileNotFound Exception'. For some reason I don't think the files' getting read.
Ive been working on creating a side scroller game, and the back color of my pictureboxes needs to go. when transparent, it shows through the program and onto whatever is active in your Windows os(usually Visual studios).
I am trying to rip pixel color off of the background image picturebox( the level), and replace parts of the character picture box that show transparency with the level art. there may be poor logic in my code?

not the best idea, but all i get is one color for all the level pixels placed in the new image, which is odd. any poor logic you see in this code that could allow the newImage.setPixel not to be 1 color? when i breakpoint, it is recieving different colors from the backimage.getpixel, but only putting one shade on for setpixel somehow. im not going for an accurate color read from the background yet, just wondering why im getting 1 pixel color for the whole picturebox background when being changed.

I want the background of my form to be the same color as the window frame color that the user selects, even if that changes. I selected System->WindowFrame as my background color, but it always remains a dark grey, regardless of what I have my window color set to. How else would I achieve what I want? In a form I have an ImageList named MainLogoImageList containing a 100x100 pixel 32-bit colordepth image. That is my app logo.
I am too lazy to set up an icon editor and edit an icon of that logo, or convert the image to an .ICO file. (Ergh, well, I am not allowed to install custom utilities.)
To set my forms' icon, I use

in the OnLoad event handler to set the window icon.
In my about box, i have a PictureBox with no image. In its OnLoad event, I use
LogoPictureBox.Image = MyMainForm.MainLogoImageList.Images(0)

to set the About box's icon and content.
So far, so good, the icon looks pretty good for a being created from a 100x100 pixel bitmap.
Is there an easy "no utility required" :-) way to get the icon that is returned my IconFromImage saved into an .ICO file so that it will keep the color depth when loaded as the app icon? I want to use exactly the icon that IconFromImage creates.

in the main form's OnLoad event handler and loading that .ICO file as the app icon in VS's project properties dialog yields and icon that is obviously converted to 16 colors, and looks awful.
I'm making a simple little program. It's going to save the image in the clipboard (from pressing Print Screen) to the folder that the .exe is in. My problem is trying to find out how to save the image file with a user-specified name, such as "Image", then adding numbers to it. So it would be like Image_00001, Image_00002, etc. I would like to make the name be specified using a textbox (pretty easy). I know how to get it to save as different image formats and all, and I know how to get it to save as a hardcoded name in a hardcoded location, but that it isn't what I'm aiming for. If you've ever used the screenshot function of Fraps or MSI Afterburner, then that's basically what I'm trying to make here.
I've already searched these forums and did some Googling, but couldn't find anything that I was looking for. Not even a sample program with something like this. I found something in the CodeBank, but it's all the stuff I've already gotten implemented.

The object is to load an image into a picturebox, then save a new copy of the image in a different location, but with the height and width of the image box not the original file's height and width but I can't figure it out. I've got the loading and saving working no problem but getting it to adopt the new size is stumping me, it just keeps saving with the original file's size properties

As a result I don't want to fill a datatable in the load event but instead fill it as soon as the form appears, in the background.Then when a user clicks the button a listbox can quickly be populated.
With this in mind I called a function to fill the datable from the _Shown event. The trouble is that the form freezes until the query executes, making the process pointless for my needs.
Does anyone know how to keep the form active while the datatable fills silently in the background?

I know it is possible in WPF but the company I am working for doesn't want to make the transition just yet. Basically what I want is to use a background image on a form for the background and I have a docked control on the right and left. I have set the background on both of these docked controls to transparent however it is showing the back color rather than the background image. I tried, rather than setting the background image property, to override the onpaintbackground and onpaint events and use e.graphics.draw(picture, me.clientrectangle) but it still seems to just pick up the backcolor as the true transparent background so I'm wondering if it's possible to get it to show the background image through the control rather than the backcolor of the form?
