I'm trying to build a music player app. I want to have it set up so the user can choose your own background from picture files on your computer. The code I'm using to save the registry file is:
Private Sub MusicPlayerForm_FormClosing(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.FormClosingEventArgs) Handles Me.FormClosing
My.Computer.Registry.SetValue _ (m_strKeyName, "BackgroundImage", Me.BackgroundImage)
End Sub
The file is saved and I can see it when I use the regedit. The problem I'm having is loading the file. Currently I have:
Private Sub MusicPlayerForm_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Timer1.Start()
LoadDefault()
[code]....
The error message I get is 'System.IO.FileNotFound Exception'. For some reason I don't think the files' getting read.

I have an image saved in a bitmap (bmp) as a result of some graphic manipulation. Part of it is transparent. And I can save it to a file in bmp, jpg, png, tif with no problem. I also want to fill the image background with a color of choice, which is saved in a PictureBox control (ColorBox1). I suppose I need to draw a rectangle like[code]...

I think it's because I have a background image. For example when I maximize the program it lags. I mean big software companies have programs that have more pixel images and are much more colorful then my program is but never lag why. AVG has nice look but the program never lag. But the code runs fine so that is a good thing. How can I stop the lag with background image?

I'm making a tileset creator and everything is working fine so far except previewing a tile. The way it works now is it gets the image from a picturebox and calls the following code when scrolling the mousewheel. It functions fine but there is a border appearing between the tiles and I can't figure out why. The source image is 32x32 in size. Most likely it is the graphics class not measuring in pixels or something.
Public Sub ResizePreview(ByVal dSize As Drawing.Size)
Dim bm As New Bitmap(TileImage.Image)
Dim pTile As New Bitmap(dSize.Width, dSize.Height,

In my project, I have a form with a background pic that I like, but unfortunately, I also have a ListView on that form which covers most of the picture. Now, is there a way to find the part of the background image concealed by the ListView, and then display it as a background image of the ListView at decreased opacity? You know, like a vague image.Just one more thing, setting the form's transparency key to the background color of the ListView is not an option.

I have a form containing a listbox showing a list of image names. It's bound to the database table. When an image name is clicked it shows the image and imagename in a picturebox and textbox respectively. When no image is selected in the listbox, a new record can be inserted by browsing a new image in the picturebox by an openfiledialog, writing the imagename in the textbox and pressing the OK button. When an image is already selected, the record can be updated by pressing the same OK button. The data is saved into MSSQL Server 2005. Corresponding table fields are Keycode int autono, logoname nvarchar(50), logo image.Now the problem, when I insert a new data with an image everything goes fine but whenever I try to update an existing data with an image it throws an exception- 'A generic error occurred in GDI+.' at the following line- 'pic.Image.Save(ms, pic.Image.RawFormat)'. Surprisingly when I update an existing data without any image in the picturebox no exception is generated. I have crossed checked it and seems that the problem is just at one point- 'Updating the image from the picturebox'. My code to insert/update the data by OK button and to populate it by listbox doubleclick follows:
Code:
Private ms As MemoryStream
Private arrImage() As Byte
Private conn As SqlConnection
[code]....

I've written a simple application to encrypt an image (jpeg file) based on a password as a challenge to a mate of mine who reckons he's an ace hacker.I can encrypt the image no problem but when I try to save it using
[Code]...
I get "a generic error occurred in GDI+" raised. Googling reveals a few hits for this problem but seemingly mostly related to using databases rather than the file system.
Has anyone come across this? I don't want to paste all my code here in case my nemesis is watching, however basically I'm getting a reference to the PictureBox's Image property and manipulating the pixels using GetPixel and SetPixel, and then setting the picturebox's image property = my modified bitmap.
I understand that the error is generally related to the bitmap not being ready to be saved - is there anything specific I need to do to "close" the bitmap so it can be saved?The strange thing is that I'm sure this was working earlier today and now seems to have arbitrarily stopped working.

I can't remember exactly if this is possible or not but what I am attempting I would think should theoretically be possible. I know it is possible in WPF but the company I am working for doesn't want to make the transition just yet. Basically what I want is to use a background image on a form for the background and I have a docked control on the right and left. I have set the background on both of these docked controls to transparent however it is showing the back color rather than the background image. I tried, rather than setting the background image property, to override the onpaintbackground and onpaint events and use e.graphics.draw(picture, me.clientrectangle) but it still seems to just pick up the backcolor as the true transparent background so I'm wondering if it's possible to get it to show the background image through the control rather than the backcolor of the form?

what I am trying to accomplish worked with the code in the last thread I posted a while back. I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled,and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled.My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:
Public Class Settings
Private Sub LinkLabel1_LinkClicked(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.LinkLabelLinkClickedEventArgs) Handles LinkLabel1.LinkClicked
MiDNiGHT.BackgroundImage = Nothing[code].......

I have a little piece of code which saves a certain Bitmap to a JPG image. The Bitmap is "composed like this" ( Ppiechart is a picturebox):[code]So After it is declared I start to do some drawing on this bitmap. And then I want to save it like this:[code]So this saves the image. But the problem is that the background of the image turns black when I open the file on my PC.The background of the Bitmap in the program itself is white. So does anybody have an idea what may cause this? Do I have to declare a color for the "mybitmap"?

If c.GetType() Is GetType(TextBtn) Then[code]...
This works the first time. But if I hit save again it writes the text to the background image on pbMenu1.
