I have a funny one. I have create a form and placed some buttons on it. I placed a background image on some of them. They show perfectly. NOW.. i tried to add a new button with a background image on it. The button shows and works fine, but the image is not display. I even tried coping one of the exsisting buttons.. the same.I placed a pictureBox on with a background image..

View 1 RepliesI know this may sound really stupid, however, I really do not know. Though I have been programming with VB2005 for about the last 4 years or so, I have never used toolstrip at all. Just simply never has a need to, until now. So, I tried it by simply clicking it in the toolbox, which is simple enough, and choose the toolstrip button for the toolstrip as well. I change the button image to the image I have and want, which seems to be piece of cake operation. Everything looks good in design time. However, when I ran the program, I have the toolstrip simply look blank (no show of the button or the image at all)! The button was there alright, as when I clicked it, it responded. However, it just simply not visible at all, nor the image. When I ran my mouse over it, it did change color (which I guess indicate it is there), but no image either.

I have 2 events, one is that user can drag and drop the checkbox to wherever they like and other is to double click on the form to change background image. How to save these settings so the next time the form run, I'll have new checkbox position and background image.

I mean big software companies have programs that have more pixel images and are much more colorful then my program is but never lag why. AVG has nice look but the program never lag. But the code runs fine so that is a good thing. How can I stop the lag with background image?
View 1 RepliesI'm making a tileset creator and everything is working fine so far except previewing a tile. The way it works now is it gets the image from a picturebox and calls the following code when scrolling the mousewheel. It functions fine but there is a border appearing between the tiles and I can't figure out why. The source image is 32x32 in size. Most likely it is the graphics class not measuring in pixels or something.

In my project, I have a form with a background pic that I like, but unfortunately, I also have a ListView on that form which covers most of the picture. Now, is there a way to find the part of the background image concealed by the ListView, and then display it as a background image of the ListView at decreased opacity? You know, like a vague image.Just one more thing, setting the form's transparency key to the background color of the ListView is not an option.

I'm trying to get an image to show in Visual Basic 2008 from a path I set in a textbox.
The textbox is called "textbox2" and its on a window called "config.vb" The picturebox is called "picturebox1" and its on a window called "main.vb"

I can't remember exactly if this is possible or not but what I am attempting I would think should theoretically be possible. I know it is possible in WPF but the company I am working for doesn't want to make the transition just yet. Basically what I want is to use a background image on a form for the background and I have a docked control on the right and left. I have set the background on both of these docked controls to transparent however it is showing the back color rather than the background image. I tried, rather than setting the background image property, to override the onpaintbackground and onpaint events and use e.graphics.draw(picture, me.clientrectangle) but it still seems to just pick up the backcolor as the true transparent background so I'm wondering if it's possible to get it to show the background image through the control rather than the backcolor of the form?

I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled,and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled.My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:
