Syntax/ Expression Errors (Binarysearch) In .net?

there are a total of 5 errors with this code.
error 1: Optional parameters must specify a default value - error location "lastEl As object) As Long" - closing bracket is highlighted
Error 2: expression expected - error location "Optional lastEl As Variant) As Long" - where optional is highlighted.
Error 3: comma, ')', or a valid continuation expected - error location "strCycleIDarray As Variant" - where "as" is highlighted
Error 4: comma, ')', or a valid continuation expected - error location "strSearchCycleIDvalueArray As Variant" - where "as" is highlighted
Error 5: Ismissing is not declared and may not be accessible due to its protection level - error location "If IsMissing(lastEl) Then lastEl = UBound(strCycleIDarray)" - where "IsMissing" is Highlighted.
I dont have an idea where to start solving these errors and i cant debug this search as the errors are there.If you dont understand the errors in the format i have put them in just copy and paste the code into a windows form using a button as an activiator.

The whole code here has to be used as a search engine. I need to build strings and then, convert them into queries. I had already done everything with linq-to-sql. But it seems impossible to convert a string into a linq querry. However, I found on stackoverflow a kind of solution, but I've never been able to use it : String.ToLinqQuery(). It's just not known by visual studio, and I can't find any documentation about it.

I've been trying to solve this problem for quite some time. I have an application that uses the WebBrowser control to provide some navigation capabilities to the user but depending on what website the user is going, there are some syntax errors coming up. These erros would normally not disturb the user under Internet Explorer so I'm trying to hide them some how.

I am not certain how to do this, but it seems like it should be easy to accomplish.I have four radio buttons that I want to assign answers to, one of which will have the correct answer along with three other answers that have incorrect answers.The answer button I want to set up as a randomly assigned button, with the other three assigned after the fact.'This code works fine to assign it to Radio button #1.rbGenericName1.Text = m_dtDrugs.Rows(DrugNum) ("GenericName").ToString()I want it to be a randomly assigned button, where the location that the "1" is residing, is a randomly assigned value between 1 & 4. I have been working at this for awhile, searching everywhee, I keep getting the error: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'UPC Code=051384628502'.The block of code this error originates from is: [code] When I make it into a comment, the program works, except it doesn't put the string value I want into the table, nor does it save it.

I am using vb.net 2003 and accessing an Access 2002 database via oleDb and Jet 4.0.I am filling a set of text boxes with data from the database. This is not a homework of mine and i had never tried ms access database with vb so i just gave it a shot. so this is my first time and i am just trying not asking anyone to complete my homework. I have been searching for this a lot on internet but couldn't find a solution to this so i decided to ask this question here.
i have this sql code. what i want to do is that create a basic login form where users puts it's username in the UsernameTextbox and Password in the PasswordTextbox. If the the information match then a message box appears saying that the user is valid and if the information does not exist, a mesage box appears saying the users is not valid. now everytime i execute(run) the code, i come up with this error: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression ''UserName' = 'Admin' 'PassWord' = 'testing123''.
The field names(UserName, PassWord) are also correct they are same as in the database. the information put in the username and password textbox are correct and they match the information on the database. But i dont know why this error comes up.
My code module is the following:

i use a database in access and I use a query for adaptor and dataset.
The query is next:
Select * from table1, table2 where table1.idsomething=table2.id and table2.name= 'Name1' AND datebirth>=#07.25.1988# AND datebirth<=#07.31.1988# order by datebirth asc
The error is: Syntax error in date in query expression
In the database the format date is dd-mm-yy.Why I have this problem? What is wrong at the query?

I've got my text files read into an array.Which was step 1 .My code so far is:

The message box is mostly just to test to see if it's finding the line. And the problem is it's returning -136.Which I'm pretty sure can't be a value in the array ( actually very sure, as I tested it just to be sure, and it says it's out of bounds).I know it's in the array, as when I change returnvalueCA to a...7 for example, it outputs the correct line from the .csv file.
Edit: Index was outside the bounds of the array. is what the debugger says, as it's trying to output the value of SKUSheet(-136)
