The favicon works fine in the picture box but i think it will look better as an icon. If i change the line Me.PictureBox1.Image = favicon to Form1.icon = favicon I get the error Value of type 'System.Drawing.Image' cannot be converted to 'System.Drawing.Icon'. How can I get this to work?

MYColor is a long integer and does not work because the above code needs a system color.
I have an desktop application that references several dlls. All are targeted for .Net 3.5, x86. The applicaiton has been deployed for several years and was upgraded from visual studion 2008 to 2010 last year. I have made several changes to the app since then (as recently as last Thursday) with out any issues. Now, everything builds, but when I run the application, I get a type initialiazer error when one of the projects is loaded by the main application.
The error messsage is {"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Drawing, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.":"System.Drawing, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a"}.
There were no changes to this project since the last successfuly deployment last week, but today I am getting this error.
I've decided to learn Visual Basic .Net as this is what some of my colleagues work with, and this will allow me to work with them on projects.I have purchased Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Step by Step and downloaded the sample files. When I am trying to debug the first sample application (a Windows form), it is telling me that it can't load System.Drawing V4.0.0.0. However, if I create a new Windows Form application (C# or VB.Net) this works fine.
I had a look at the References tab in the project settings and System.Windows.Forms is referenced, but the version referenced is 2.0.0.0. I have removed and re-added this reference and it stays at 2.0.0.0 and I still get the error.Does anybody have any ideas as to what may be going on?

Ok so im looking at this code and it cant possibly be right but im not sure how to do what i want.I have made a list of n points. I now want to click a button on my form and use the picturebox paint event to draw my lines between the points in the list.From what i can see i have at least two issues with this code. 1. Nowhere in this snippet do i reference the picture boxes paint event 2. I do not think that the loop i have is how to navigate through the list of Points to make my drawings.

View 1 RepliesFirst, the overall objective is to find the best point within a multipoint filled 'star', at which to start drawing text. That is, depending upon the size of the star and the number of points, there is a larger or smaller area within the points that is filled with colour. So a 5 point star has a relatively small area that is filled, in which to draw text. A 40 point star of the same radius has a much larger area filled. If I can determine the size of this area as a rectangle, then I can measure the string and draw within it using the best fit font and starting position. The code below is an attempt to answer the question but I am stuck trying to find the text area rectangle within the filled portion of the star. Some of the code exists purely to explore the means to determine how to identify this rectangle (and is probably the totally wrong direction).
The second part of the problem is in exploring the options, I tried to draw a vector to different points on the circumference of the star. This is the code highlighted. The lines drawn do not seem to be the correct length nor the correct angle but I cannot see why.[code]...
I have several picture boxes on a form (frmMain).My question is, how do I paint a point on a particular picture box at the location specified by the coordinates of the current mouse position? View 3 RepliesI'm drawing a rectangle snapped to a grid by getting the start point(Mouse down e.location) and the end point(mouseup(e.location). The coding I'm having trouble with is having the program determine which way to draw the rectangle(where the location should be, and the height and width.) Now, this would be extremely simple if the user started their rectangle from the top left corner and ended it in the bottom right every time. But you need to be able to drag from all angles. So does anyone have some code lying around that I could look at so I could actually get my rectangles drawn right?

For instance, say I want to search for the text found between "That is a " and " car" in the string "That is a red car", so it would return "red".I know you can use .SelectionStart and SelectionLength, but the length of the word can change, so the selection length can vary. What I want is to establish a specific starting point and a specific ending point from which to extract the text from the string.

I have a program that creates a Treeview from information procured through an ODBC query and dumped into a dataset. I have three such queries set up via radial buttons as well as a refresh button that triggers whatever radial button is active at the time it's clicked. The purpose of this program is to allow drag-and-drop of selected nodes, ending with a post to the database that officially makes that change of assignment to the new node.

I have also used 'is' instead of '=' but that doesn't work either.
I made a program with Visual Basic Express 2008. I got this error message when I try to close my program after running it. (PS: It is a simple code that can login into Microsoft SQL Server)The error message shows the error was caused by the "system.drawing" (Parameter is not valid). Also, I have been trying the code in VBA (Excel). When I tried to close Excel after running my code, I got the same problem (Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and need to be closed.....) and the error report shows the error was caused by "system.drawing" as well.
