View 1 RepliesI have just bought a new mic. It works just fine with Sound Recorder and MSN Messenger, but not speech recognition. Whenever I try to start Speech Recognition, it says something like "Speech Recognition could not start because the language configuration does not match the one Speech Recognition is using". The language I probably need to use is Microsoft Recognizer v5.1. But whenever I select it, it says that the engine could not be created. I already have my mic configured properly and even the tutorial works perfectly fine and same with the Training the computer thingy.

View 2 RepliesI have an MS Excel column, 97 or 2003, containing Arabic. I want to import it to an Existing MS Access 97 database with various columns. Whichever 'path' I take, Import, Copy/Paste, Open etc, in the end, when it is displayed in the MS Access 97, the Arabic text is displayed as Hebrew is fine. I could write vb code to translate character character if this is the only way but I don't quite understand what has to be done.

But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR & nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

I'm trying to do text-to-speech in VB2008 on Windows 7 but I encounter the following exception: first chance exception of type 'System. Runtime. InteropServices.COMException' occurred in Text to Speech.exe..so I made the simplest program I could imagine that should work to minimize error sources but I can't seem to avoid the error. I have included a reference to Microsoft Speech Object COM for both programs and speech-to-text works in the original program.[code]
