TextBox VScroll Event?

Nov 9, 2009

My problem is that the RichTextBox control has VScroll and HScroll events, but the TextBox control doesn't have such kind of events. It is possible to follow continuously the first visible line of the textbox by means of the SendMessage Api function in a thread and in case of the change of the first visible line, we can say that the VScroll event occurred.

[Code]...

This code runs correctly. However my program is extremely slowing down with this method. How can i solve this slowness problem or is there more practical way to learn when the textbox is vertically scrolled?

VS 2008 - Using VScroll Control On Form

Mar 25, 2010

I am trying to use a VScroll control on my form but it seems it doesn't want to cooperate! Here's what's going on : I want to use a VScroll control with these simple properties :
Minimum = 5
Maximum = 10
SmallChange = 1

As we all know the VScroll has an arrow facing upwards and another facing downwards. I simply want to press that cute little arrow that looks upwards and to increase the value by 1. Respectively, when I press the other cute little arrow facing downwards I would like it to reduce the value by 1. However that uncooperative controls does exactly the opposite thing! I looked in MSDN and in a VB2008 book I have and found out that actually the up arrow is used to decrease the value! In the whole universe upwards means increasing and downwards decreasing, how come VScroll is not respecting that?

VS 2008 Call KeyUp Event From MouseUp Event For A Textbox?

Aug 16, 2010

In VB6 we had a code inside textBox_MouseUp to call textBox_KeyUp(-1, 0) and the signature of KeyUp was
Private Sub textBox_KeyUp(ByRef KeyCode As Short, ByRef Shift As Short) Handles textBox.KeyUp

Now when I migrate to .NET I changed the KeyUp event to Private Sub textBox_KeyUp(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles textBox.KeyUp

How can I do this call textBox_KeyUp(-1,0) now from textBox_MouseUp event?

Set Up A Textbox Resize Event

Feb 11, 2009

I have set up a Textbox Resize event, but when I execute the form, it doesn't allow me to change the textbox size. I'm not sure what code to show; this is a VB.Net book exercise that I'm running in VB 2005. [code] I have tried setting the Border to something beside 'Fixed'. All resize references I have found refer to Forms or tables. Is there a property that allows users to resize a textbox?

Break Textbox Lostfocus Event?

Aug 20, 2010

the scenario is the following: I have a textbox ,next to it a button. The user types a value in the textbox, he presses tab, I search this value in the database in the LostFocus event, if there is no match, a browse form shows and the user can select the desired value. After closing the browse form, the focus goes to the next textbox control (and exactly this I want to prevent). The user can click the button next to textbox to choose a value (the browser form appears), but in this case, after closing the form, the focus remains on the textbox control, because before clicking the button, the focus was on it.

So, my question: how can I disable the LostFocus event? Ok, I figured it out: I must use the validating event. It works. But in this case, if I close the form, the event fires up. How can I disable this?

Forms :: Get The Key Char On Key Down Event Of Textbox?

Mar 23, 2009

On the KeyDown event of the textbox, i need to capture the character pressed and send it to a function which fires a sql query for this character.To get the character i am using Convert.ToChar(e.keycode).However Convert.Tochar converts the keycode to char according to its ASCII value , thus F4 gets converted to "s" as "s" has ASCII keycode of 115.Is there some other way to convert the keycode to character which won't make these wrong conversions as even if i restrict the functions keys there may be problem with other key conversion also.

WebForms - OnClick Event For Textbox

Mar 10, 2011

I am trying to write an onclick event for textbox but VB.net does not seem to support textbox1.click(). I want to open a new form every time someone clicks on the textbox. Opening a new form is no problem, but I cant detect the click. Is there any event for textbox that detects click event? I saw something like TextboxBase that has Click but I am able to use it well.

This is how my class looks :
Partial Public Class TextBoxClick
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
End Class

It has some basic load and init events. I am trying to write a Sub like this :
Private Sub incident_clicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Incident.OnClick
Incident.Click does not work either.
I am guessing I need to import some class to access the Click event but I am not sure which.
