i need to add vscroll control to a form in VB.net and i need to use it to scroll the form where i need to add more controls in the form where the size of form not able me to add them ? and i need to know how to make the scrolling to show more controls in the form ?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to use a VScroll control on my form but it seems it doesn't want to cooperate! Here's what's going on : I want to use a VScroll control with these simple properties :
Minimum = 5
Maximum = 10
SmallChange = 1
As we all know the VScroll has an arrow facing upwards and another facing downwards. I simply want to press that cute little arrow that looks upwards and to increase the value by 1. Respectively, when I press the other cute little arrow facing downwards I would like it to reduce the value by 1. However that uncooperative controls does exactly the opposite thing! I looked in MSDN and in a VB2008 book I have and found out that actually the up arrow is used to decrease the value! In the whole universe upwards means increasing and downwards decreasing, how come VScroll is not respecting that?

View 12 RepliesI seemed to have have ruined my settings on VS 2010... I can't get the Shapes to work just after I had fixed the problem with the PowerPacks, and then it deleted all of my shapes I had on my form after I was tweaking the code and added another shape. And ever since, the shapes make errors and I can't change there colors. I've tried reinstalling VS 2010, and changing refferences doesn't work anymore. The title is the problem I have with trying to add a shape through the code in my project, here is the code for that:

My problem is that the RichTextBox control has VScroll and HScroll events, but the TextBox control doesn't have such kind of events. It is possible to follow continuously the first visible line of the textbox by means of the SendMessage Api function in a thread and in case of the change of the first visible line, we can say that the VScroll event occurred.

I'm developing a new SOA system right now, and would like to use WSDL2.0, but I heard some clients are still connect using VisualBasic and WSDL1.1 (mostly from excel sheets and stuff). So I was wondering if VisualBasic also supports WSDL2.0, or if it's all 1.1
I know WSDL2.0 will work with C#,Java,and most other typical application programming languages, and these languages will be used by most of our clients, but I don't want to alienate our VB users, so that's why I'm asking.

I recently ran across the FileIO library and have found that some of the advantages (such as sending an item to the recycle bin) are quite nice to have. Especially in the program I am currently working on.My question is, Does System.IO out perform the VisualBasic.FileIO?My program I am writing will be copying literally TB's worth of information onto server towers. I want to make sure I do not lose any time due to the library I am using.

Here is the vb call:

In my c# app, I need to call this an pass in the appropriate c# object to params.

I was looking for Microsoft.CSharp.CompilerServices.Operators but couldn't find it.
I am trying to use my .NET DLL library that is compiled in VIsual Studio 2008 in Linux. Now for that they have this Mono CLI implementation but unfotunately they have not fully implemented Microsoft.VisualBasic library as of yet. So when i try to call certain methods from my DLL i get this error: "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.VisualBasic, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies.".
But not every function in my DLL crashes with this error. I found out that it is because this error only occurs when i use VisualBasic functionality. But the problem is that many things that come from this library are default things that you can do when using VB .NET.
Is there any way i can completely remove VIsualBasic functionality from my code in my DLL library?
I read in another post that setting Option Strict On is a good place to start but i still get the error even after doing that. Additionaly, i have unchecked VisualBasic namespace and removed it from references.

Anyone says referencing the Microsoft.VisualBasic is often undesirable from within C#. Any association with VB from within C# code strikes me as undesirable. Using FileSystem class, this is a perfectly fine solution, but I prefer not references Microsoft.VisualBasic library. That one I would avoid.

I have tried repairing my .NET installation.
Note: This error only occurs on one machine. On every other machine it works fine which makes me think something with the .NET assemblies was corrupted. It was working fine on the broken machine a few days ago.
I have application file and when clicked on it the application should be launched. I have used visualBasic.Command() to get the path where this file is present. In this path i get ("~") and because of this the .swf file is not getting loaded in the application. Is there any way to get the proper file path in which we don't see "~".
