Once the user enters their first and last time for the first time it'll be stored in the combobox's index..Now my issue is this... Originally before I implemented the combobox the related user file name would be:"C:FicheStatsJohn SmithJanuary" + Ttbox1.text + Textbox2.text + ".txt"So basically the user filename would be JohnSmith.textBut now I want the user to directly select from the combobox and that the file name remains the same without space.... but in the combobox the name appears as John Smith.>

Bind A WPF Combobox And Get Selecteditem To A Richtextbox?
Apr 22, 2010I am using a dataset on the server, in this dataset I have a datatable that calls a stored procedure and returns column names from three tables. I call this stored procedure using a web service.i manage to show all the column names in my combobox but when I want to click a button and insert selected column name into a richtextbox I get System.Data.DataRowView in the textbox instead.

Jul 4, 2009i have a very simple problem but i can't figure how to fix it.I'll explain, i have 3 array named "Auto, Legumes, Films". I i making a function so whenever the selecteditem of the combobox change(Auto, Legumes or Films) the name of the selecteditem is passed to a function. The function use this name to display the items of the corresponding table in a listbox.The 3 different item name in the combobox match the name of the 3 tables, so i want to be able to re-use the name dynamically in my function.

Dec 20, 2011I'm using VB 2008 express to create a windows form application. I have a combobox named cb_face. The items in the combobox are image file names populated from my resource folder using a "for each" loop. When an item is selected I would like to display the image in picturebox1. I have tried several different codes but none of them display the image. I am not getting any errors. The comment lines show some of the code that has been tried.

Feb 24, 2010I have an VB.NET app that writes the status to a log file in text format. Over time, the file is getting large and I wanted to know if there is an efficient way to truncate the beginning of the file.
To make things easier, I am looking to specify a file size (say 2-3 mb) and I am writing the log using a StreamWriter:

I thought about using the strm.BaseStream.Length to determine how much of the file to cut off, but by using the .SetLength it would cut from the end - not the desired result.
VS 2008 : Don't Use Int() To Truncate Numbers
Oct 4, 2009I've been using it and even saw a method in a MSDN search given that suggests that it should be used but have found that there are defects using it. An example of problem occurring.

db = Int(10.12 * 100) / 100
db should be equal to 10.12 but the result you get will be 10.11. In the above example nothing is being truncated. If you added some digits right of the 2 it would give a good result. But if you're using a variable and it sometimes is equal to 10.12 or 9.12 etc. then a problem would occur. Also if 10.12 was replaced with 10.03 you'd get a result of 10.02. 10.04 gives a result of 10.03. 10.2 gives a result of 10.19. I'm now using code such as what is seen below instead of using Int() :
bd = Decimal.Truncate(CDec(10.12 * 100)) / 100
You could declare bd as a Decimal and then you wouldn't have to use CDec(). If I try Int(1012) the result is 1012 but Int(10.12 * 100) will give 1011. Pretty weird in my opinion.

Combobox Bug - Text Typed In Combobox Appears In Another Control (textbox) On The Form?
Feb 20, 2012I have a tab control application, each tab loads a particular user control and each of those user controls will then add other user controls that are used amongst other the user controls. For example, I have an "ucQuotes" page and an "ucInventory" page, when the specific tab is selected, the "uc****" user control is loaded on that page, and in the case of "ucQuotes" and "ucInventory" they both use a control called "ucPartNumber"; a user control consisting of a combobox, textbox, and button. I have no issues reusing the shared user controls, in this case. My problem arises with my "ucQuickPrice" control, as it is always present at the bottom of the tab control form (separate from the tabcontrol, but on the same form), and it too uses ucPartnumber.
Here's my issue, as I type into the ucPartnumber combobox, the text I type does not appear in the combobox, it appears in the textbox of the ucPartnumber control that is being used on the tabcontrol page. There are no shared instances of ucPartNumber, nor do I have this issue between typing on one tab page and the text showing on the user control of another tab page.I tried just creating the ucPartNumber controls on the ucQuickPrice control, not adding a new instance of ucPartnumber on the .Load event, and the issue persists.
The combobox(s) in question are bound programmatically with about 40,000 items, ".datasource = dataset.tablename" not to a bindingsource. Autocomplete is set to none, I added code to utilize tool tips and the basic combobox filtering functionality. Is this a bug, or is there something I'm neglecting? I'm about 95% complete with this application, and this just happened today. I made the decision, to just reuse the ucPartNumber control on the ucQuickPrice control (originallly it's size and orientation would not fit, but I added some coding to detect what parent is adding ucPartNumber and to change its appearance accordingly). Before, I made this change, I did not have this problem. And, in trying to go back to how I had things set up before the change, the problem will not go away. if the whole control within a control verbage I used is a bit confusing, let me know and I'll try to better explain what is happening. At this point, I'm going to close and reopen vbexpress, as when I started this ordeal, vb started acting weird and wanted me to save all my work, it usually does this before locking up.

Loop Does Not Truncate Into A Two Decimal Place Holder

VS 2010 Truncate Charachters HEX Data Stream (Serial)?
