Updating Link Table With Values From Multiple DataGrids

I am trying to update a link table with values from multiple datagrids, the field types in the link table are numbers and the value selected from the datagrids are also numbers. I am getting the following error:
The OleDbParameterCollection only accepts non-null OleDbParameter type objects, not String objects.

Using; - vb2008 Express, data on ACCESS 2003, objective; - to update a separate table not on the original query.From what i have gathered i need to add a second table adapter to make the changes to a related field in another table. Since i already have the 1st table adapter the second does not appear as easy as the second (dragn the data set over).
So i suppose i need to create the second table adapters programmatically? [URL]..I see that because they are not nested they need to each be declared.. right? If so that is where my issue lies. I'm having a problem with how to declare them both now that there must be two.

I'm developing a Windows Forms app that will be used to update information on 2 database tables.The 2 tables are related, so the ID fields in them will correspond. In the app, I'm using 2 DataGridView controls. THe first (Status Rules) is DataBound to a DataSet and visible when the application loads. The other (Status Flags) is empty and hidden. The user will select an ID field from the RulesGrid which will fire up a connection to the database and display the entry in the Status_Flags table that has the same ID as the value of the cell the user clicked.I thought of using a standard conditional SELECT statement to do this, but the Flags grid isn't displaying any data. I'm writing a time entry program to record when an employee checks in and when they check out.I'm struggling on the part where I need to calculate a time span (time out / time in). I am selecting the In Time, Out Time, and Total columns.I want it to take the Out Time subtract it from the In Time and place that value in the Total column.I have so far and have tried several variations of different updates but have had no luck.[code]I keep getting a syntax error in the UPDATE statment.I'm not very fluent with OleDB yet and I'm not sure if I'm doing the update correctly.I have no problem with OleDB and single UPDATES or single field updates but when I am updating multiple rows with different values.

this is the wrong forum because I am quite new to this :S and I am actually unsure what this fits under. I am not sure how I would go about this I have a decision matrix that retains values which are boolean.The application receives a spec and rev from the database when the app is called.The questions asked as like " is it a car?" Yes/No etc.After the battery of questions I need to write the responses to an access database

I have to compare an item value in two tables. these two tables are on different database(same server).
I have succesfully generated sql query to return both table values.
the query runs in sql server without any problem and gives the results.
The same query i used in vb.net doesnt gives any result ...
It is resulting with no rows.
Does the connection to multiple databases wont work from vb.net.

In the purchase order application im trying to develop i want a user to be able to select existing clients from n table in the access DB. in which will then fill a portion of the CLIENT detail section in the application. i want to then be able to uses these client details to create a unquie purchase order ID containing all client details aswell as the purchase order list for that client this such as products and labor or whatever is inputted in the fields. I'm using a pattern of buttons verticle, & horizonal, to produce a 2 dimensional matrix (6 deep, 25 wide .) The sequence is repeating, but offset from horizonal line to line. the values are 1 thru 12. there are corresponding files in the "My.resources." file carrying names related to the buttons. If the "my. Resources" filename is say.., "1,3,4,6,8,9,11,12 " & the buttons pushed have produduced the string "1","4","6" then the prestated file carries all these values, and therefore should be selected. All integers of the textbox list must be present in a "my.resources" file to show the file. There will be multiple files in the resource file that will fit. (My ultimate intention is to show all files that fit, somehow. I'll have to, eventually. I'm still writing this, and changing it constantly. )the question is, "How do I get the computer to link the textbox integers to the resources files? Textbox = "1", "4", "6" to My.Resources.1,3,4,6,8,9,11,12

When I click on button1, employee_id and P values need to be transferred from button1_click to Cal_Category13() and go through all the calculation. After the calculation, udtnew.X and udtnew.MTD values need to be transferred back to button1_Click
I've no problem to return multiple values Cal_Category13().MTD and Cal_Category13().X from Cal_Category13() to button1_Click but i've no idea how to transfer employee_id and p values from button1_click to Cal_Category13().

I have simple columns and their respective sums. However, I exclude 1 particular value from each sum, like so [code]...
Now I need to exclude another value ("Awaiting Progression") from a second column called "PROGRESSION".
Since I already exclude value based on 1 column called CATEGORY, how do I change my =Sum(Code.ExcludeOthers(Fields!CATEGORY.Value,Fields!ACTION_PLAN_NEW.Value)) to exclude a value from the PROGRESSION column if it's = ("Awaiting Progression") ?
i.e. How do I exclude multiple values, depending on values in 2 columns in SSRS 2005?

I have a login form that consists of 2 text boxes: txtUser, txtPass. Now these are not bound to any data table & I don't what them to be bound. When a new user enters his user name & password, I want to add these on a data table that has two columns: User, Pass. Data table information: Data Source = Login.accdb, Data table = LoginTable, Connection = LoginCn. I use visual basic 2010. So how do I do this?

I currently have this working already for one of my combo box's, but when i try to use the same code i get this error ''There is no row at position 6.'' . The are 2 fields in the table asset_type_id, asset_type_name', im trying to dispaly the values in a combo box for the field 'asset_type_name.
the code for ' Friend Sub RetrieveCustomerInformation2()' works but the other friend sub throws the error.

I am using a string builder to set up an html table row by row so that it can be emailed. I currently gather my information from the database using a data reader and while dataReader.read, I use stringbuilder.Append to add each cell value to the table.The issue is that after about 200 rows, the html breaks and displays a cell value above the table in the email. I have tried changing the cell padding, but this was not successful.

I use a dbDataAdapter to populate a DataTable from an unlinked oracle database.I have a dbDataAdapter that I want to insert rows into an SQL Server table using SQLCommandBuilder.I have been trying all day to update the DataTable that references the SQL Server table with the data from the Oracle DataTable so that I can insert the rows.

I am attempting to fill a form with multiple rows from an access table based off of a parameterized query. My query works fine but I don't want to return one row at a time, I want to return all rows that match my query in multiple text boxes. I know that I can use a datagrid view to accomplish this, but I would prefer the look of a textboxes on a form. I have read through many books and searched the internet forums but think I may just not know what to search for as nothing has worked yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction. So far I have tried setting the text box value to the row().item(), creating a different dataset for each row, and even setting variables for the results of the query to then be passed to the text boxes. Since none of this work, I don't really have any starting code to post. If I could just get a starting point I could work from there, so don't feel the need to code anything for me, just set me in the right direction.

I am trying to create an application which after selecting a target folder updates the files that are inside to an access database. The first part of the code here works fine as it allows me to choose a destination folder, but when trying to get it to update the cotents to the database it will not work.
This then means that when using code for another button to search and display files stored in the updated table in a combo box there are no objects attached meaning it creates an error stsaing it cnnot find the object or path.

When I update but do not really made any changes to the value and press the update button, the data becomes null. And it will seem that I deleted the value.I've taught of a solution, that is to add both combobox1.selectedtext and combobox1.selecteditem to the function. But it doesn't work.
combobox1.selecteditem is working when you try to alter the values when you update. But will save a null value when you don't alter the values using the combobox combobox1.selectedtext will save the data into the database even without altering.But will not save the data if you try to alter it.-And I incorporated both of them, but still only one is performing, and I think it is the one that I added first:

I am making a application that manages room availability in a building.I have seen a similar function in another application that I'm trying to duplicate. I want to have a control, which I assume is the DataGridView that shows the room numbers on the left hand side, and then on the right it shows a box in that room numbers row for every day that the room is occupied. If it is occupied for more than one day, the box is joined.What control are they using? How do I link one row cell across multiple columns?

I am creating a project for myself to practice Database connectivity, updating, deleting and adding items. I am having an issue updating one of the tables i have added, within a table there is a column called Today's Date which will contain the date the last time the program ran, when i run the program i want it to update that column with the new date. [Code] When the code runs to 'da.Udate(ds, "Expenditure") I get the following error: Missing the DataColumn 'Asset Name' in the DataTable 'Expenditure' for the SourceColumn 'Asset Name'. The 'Asset Name' mentioned in the error is a column name but it is in my two other tables, why would it be reading them when I specify the table.
