I have a datagrid that has a checkbox column and it all works fine and dandy except I'm not sure what the proper way to handle this situation is. When I check one or more checkboxes then loop through to find which ones were checked if I didnt move the selected cell before clicking go it will not detect the last checkbox checked. However if I change selection it does. Problem is I dont want to change selection, I tried unsBelow is the code I'm using to find which checkbox is checked. This will msgbox me the text in the second column of all the rows checked except the last one I checked
I'm developing a Windows Forms app that will be used to update information on 2 database tables.The 2 tables are related, so the ID fields in them will correspond. In the app, I'm using 2 DataGridView controls. THe first (Status Rules) is DataBound to a DataSet and visible when the application loads. The other (Status Flags) is empty and hidden. The user will select an ID field from the RulesGrid which will fire up a connection to the database and display the entry in the Status_Flags table that has the same ID as the value of the cell the user clicked.I thought of using a standard conditional SELECT statement to do this, but the Flags grid isn't displaying any data. Issue is I would like to filter the datasets based the user type and a few other ways. How can I filter each table(sql query) using the BindingSource that was automatically added. I thought I read that some of the functions work against the current datamember, so I tried the following code.
On my view there is a datatable holding a collection of ServerRow and 4 textboxes (Hostname, OS, Location, Zone). When the user types into any of the 4 boxes I want to immediately filter this list. I have this code setup and ready to go that on the set method of each textbox property I call the filter method.
Now onto the problem: if I have 4 criteria that means I have 2 to the power of 4 different scenarios. What I would like to do is write a linq statement with all of these scenarios dealt with such that if any of the properties are NullOrEmpty they will not be used in the Where clause and on the flip side if there is a value the corresponding field will be searched with a Contains.

Since certain movies can belong to multiple genres & vise versa, I'm trying to alter the code listed above to filter all movies belonging to a certain genre using the GenreID found in the joint table.
Is this possible or do I need to go about this in a different way?
Well I have a list of things I want to search based on multiple points of data...for example Resolution, 3D capable, touchscreen capable....etc....What is the best way for display someone can think of & filtering results by capability, I have none of it typed out, etc...like list of objects & capabilities, etc... alreat...so it can be made any way that is thought to be good(with speed as well) for many different listings...say 1,000 of them & it filters pretty much instantly....reading capabilities & such & the list itself is easy but how can I make a filter(unchecking something brings back things, checking something takes away only since well your adding capabilities to filter selection....I have pictures that can go with items too as well as a name & more information could be given directly with the method or clicking on the picture/item.
I'm new to VB.NET and looking for some help with combo boxes. I was wondering if it is possible to link 2 combo boxes to each other based on user selection? A couple of questions about the FolderBrowserDialog in VB .NET Express 2005... 1. How can I make it so this control allows selection of multiple folders at a time? 2. It remembers the folder I selected last time (in the same session), and highlights that folder, which is good, but that selected folder appears near the bottom of the window. Is there a way to make it so the previously selected folder appears in the middle of the window (i.e. the scroll bar is further down the window)? I have a class created to export the datagrids and it does export and save a csv file. However, the csv file contains no data.

I am creating a form application that should display information from one dataset into individual textboxes (ie. system name, system id, location name, location id). The textboxes populate upon the selection of a pair of cascading combo boxes. So, the user first selects a system name from the first combobox, then that selection will populate the second combo box for the locations of that system. (This means that each system may have more than one location.) Once the location is selected, each of the 4 textbox should populate with the corresponding data but I'm not quite sure how to write the code..
I am trying to create a simple parent-child form in VB2010. I use a datagridview for each table/datasource and each is bound to the parent/child table and each table grid fills correctly. What I want is the parent-child relation to enforce filling the child table with only rows that fulfill the current row on the parent. I have created a DataRelation in the form load, but it will not permit a relation between tables in 2 different datasets. If I attempt to place both tables in a single dataset and define the PK-FK relation in the SQL Server I cannot create 2 separate datagrids from the same dataset.
How do i fill my ObservableCollection(of Monitors) with data so that I can save it in an MVVM friendly manner.
