QuoteI would like to display my password from database (MS Access)into datagrid but in invisible. Below is my coding retrieve data from database, but my password is visible,

I have a datagrid which has been bound to a datatable.If I sort the grig lets say by surname order I would like to export that datatable in that sorted order but whenever I do it never seems to be sorted.sorted order.
Basically what I see in the grid is how I want my exported table to be.
I want to know how to perform row delete to datatable which is a datasource to the grid.
In details: I have a datagridview (dg) and its datasource is set to dtItem. User will select some rows in dg and press 'delete' button.
dg.DataSource = dtItem;
I will perform a loop and delete the records. Here is the code eg:
foreach (DataGridViewRow drw in dg.Rows)
{
if (drw.Selected)
[Code]....
The problem is it didn't delete correctly. If user selects row index 0 and 1 in dg and delete it, it will delete the first one correctly and then finished cuz no more row is selected in next gridviewrow.
I tried google and didn't find what I want. may be because i don't know the correct keywords I should use to search.
I have used VB (versions 2 - 6) through many years; however, I am crash-course training myself into the VB2008 / VB2010 world kicking a screaming. I would like suggestions as to what SQL database access method should I focus more on in my learning process without making me feel that I'm a million years behind. I know I have WinForms where I can create a datasourse and drag / drop fields or tables on a form to create a grid (not really what I'm looking for).
My trouble isn't so much designing the form but in how I access the database. Theres XML, LINQ to SQL, ADO.NET, and many other methods. Not only do I need to grasp these methods quickly but I also need to know what type of projects I should create. What I mean is...I was thinking that I would design a WinForm app; however, I see that there are WPF apps and others to chose from. This is getting deep. I know it depends on the project that I'm working on. My plans are to write an app based off of either an SQL Express 2008 or SQL Server 2008 database. This first app will be standalone for now but may later become multi-user. I know I'm far behind on my learning curve coming from VB6. I have read a bit on VB2005 / 2008 / 2010. I own
both VB2008 and VB2010. I use VB2008 at work. I know ADO.NET is still alive but by what I read online, it's a dying method and is only kept for backward compatibility. XML and LINQ to SQL and other methods are all pretty new to me.
i know how to display an image in a picturebox by drag drop. but cant find anything on the net about dropping an image to a textbox then having the textbox display its location
reolved if any one else searches for it.
Dim Files() As String = CType(e.Data.GetData(DataFormats.FileDrop), String())
Dim fileDetail As New System.IO.FileInfo(Files(0))
txtFilePath.Text = fileDetail.FullName
I need to display (read-only, I don't want the user to be able to modify the data) a set number of log entries. I figured using the data grid view would be the best solution. Basically the data is an error log that contains 3 fields (columns)
ID (a number from 1-20), Flag (number from 0-255), and a Description (string). I don't want the data linked to any database or anything.
These events occur asynchronously so I need to be able to add events (rows) to the data grid as they occur.
I also need the ability to clear all events (rows).
I guess the first question is if the data grid view is the best control in VB to use.
Is there a good example on using the data grid on how to add data to the data grid view one row at a time?
I am a newbie to the .net developing world. i want to display a set of records on my asp.net page.
On a grid control (gridview, repeater etc), I want to display the list of sales people and the clients that they represent. This is how it needs to look on my asp page:
Employee ID: 123456
Name: John
Last Name: Smith
Email: johnsmith@abc.com
Phone: 201-123-4567

I need to know how to display the result of a select query in a datagrid or GridView with VB.NET?
Consider SELECT * FROM some_table. I don't know what columns the table has. Is there a way to just output the result to a table, with a dataset for example?
right now my datagridview is like select.JPG in the attachment. but i need my datagridview disply should be Modified grid.JPG in the attachment. how to remove the line which is before the column question in my datagridview.
View 6 RepliesI have an Access table that contains "Customer Number".
I have an ODBC dataset (iSeries IBM Client Access, or AS/400 data) with a customer table in it. I want to link the customer numbers in the access table to the ODBC table so I can show the customer number from the access table and the customer name, city, and state from the ODBC table.
I want to display this information in a grid. I also want to be able to add records to the grid (which adds them to the access table). What is the best way to get started doing this? I am using VB2005. I could use MS Access and have it done in about 2 minutes, but I want to take the plunge and learn VB2005.
But this VB2005 and .net thing seems like they re-wrote the book on programming and I cant seem to get a grasp on it. I have tried several projects like this in hopes of learning, but ended up abandoning them in frustration.
I am using a data grid view to display information from a database and I can't get it to update correctly.I can see the data from the database but when I change information and save it it changes the entire column's information. My rows need to have different values in the same column so this is a problem.Here is my code so far, what the program does is makes a list of transactions that are entered.
View 1 RepliesHow do you read a CSV file and display the results in a grid in Visual Basic 2010? This sounds so simple but I still can't find the answer to it after googling for a while. I need to display an two-column editable grid not bound to a database. I took a look at ListView with Mode=Details, but it appears that only cells in the first column can be edited. I then took a look at DataGridView, and am having two issues:
1. When editing a cell, it adds a new row: [url] How can I prevent this?
2. I don't like the grey background and would like the grid to fill the whole space, right and below.
BTW, if you know of a good tutorial on using the DataGridView unbound, I'm interested. [Code]
can you help me for the search button code that once you do the search, the info will automatically display in a data grid?
View 1 RepliesI have a datatable similar in structure the first attached image where each * represents some data
Ultimately I want a new table in the form of the second attached image.
Currently, I have opened a connection to my access database and pulled in the data for case 102 into a datatable and case 103 into a separate datatable. [code]...
Then I loop through each row in Dt1 to check if item1 in Dt1 exists in Dt2. If it exists, I determine which row it's at and add in the data for item2 and item3 into Dt2.
I am now to asp.net.
i would like to add 01 in to datarow and then add to datatable.
however only 1 shows in datatable and zero is missing.

View 4 RepliesI'm developing a Windows Forms app that will be used to update information on 2 database tables.The 2 tables are related, so the ID fields in them will correspond. In the app, I'm using 2 DataGridView controls. THe first (Status Rules) is DataBound to a DataSet and visible when the application loads. The other (Status Flags) is empty and hidden. The user will select an ID field from the RulesGrid which will fire up a connection to the database and display the entry in the Status_Flags table that has the same ID as the value of the cell the user clicked.I thought of using a standard conditional SELECT statement to do this, but the Flags grid isn't displaying any data. My code Follows:
Private Sub RulesGrid_CellClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles RulesGrid.CellClick
Dim conn As New SqlConnection('ConnectionString)
Dim sql As String = "SELECT * FROM ctblMKA_Status_Flags WHERE intStatusID = '" & RulesGrid.CurrentCell.Value & "'"[code].....

import system.data
Dim conn As New SqlClient.SqlConnection
