DataGridView - Display Two Column Editable Grid Not Bound To A Database

I need to display an two-column editable grid not bound to a database. I took a look at ListView with Mode=Details, but it appears that only cells in the first column can be edited. I then took a look at DataGridView, and am having two issues:
1. When editing a cell, it adds a new row: [url] How can I prevent this?
2. I don't like the grey background and would like the grid to fill the whole space, right and below.
BTW, if you know of a good tutorial on using the DataGridView unbound, I'm interested. [Code]
I have a DataGridView (dgv) on a Windows form (VB.NET) which is bound to a datatable. One of the bound columns is a an ID (Foreign Key) to another datatable. All I want to do is Hide the ID column and populate an unbound column with the Name (ParmName) for the user. I searched the foreign value in the datatable and retrieved the information. I set the Value of the cell in the Datarow. All works well, but does not display. The cell accepts the value...I can even Debug.Print the values to the console. They are there just nothing displaying in DataGridView. Nothing odd about DataGridView. Should be straight forward...

I am populating a datagridview from a datatable and that is working fine. I wish to add some calculated columns from data in the datatable. At first, I did this by adding these to the table, but that makes it difficult to update the Access database. These lines are commented out.Right now, AWt and DOF are not working. The values are there when I step through (lines 85-87), but the values are not put in the grid. The value of NWt is placed in the grid as it should be.Lines 236 through 254 set up the new unbound columns. 85-87 should populate them.

I've got a DataGridView that has a DataTable as it's Datasource. Whenever I sort a column and then edit a cell, after editing the column, the column autosorts so the recently edited cell is no longer in the viewable area. Is there any way to prevent this auto sort from happening and only sort when I click on the columns?
DataGridView1 is bound to a sql table. Cells(0) and (1) come from that table. Cells(2) and (3) are calculated. While debugging the code, the calculations and lookup look fine, but the results will not display in the columns. Here is the code:

we display a decimal(11.25) value in the grid . When we try to edit that cell its displaying only (11).Its not showing the decimal value when we try to edit that cell.
I am creating a windows application for my company. in the master file i will enter the number of items we are getting from the customer. and in the next page i have to enter the details of each item. For that i have created a datagrid which has one autogenerate number field and the remaining fields must be editable. So that when i enter all the values in the datagrid, it has to go and save in the data base.
I have three buttons and I have a panel with the details bound to the database (not a datagridview, but the other option that you can drag onto the form: "details")
When the user presses button 1 I want the row with "ID 1" to be displaied in the details. Likewise for buttons two and three. (The user will later be able to edit the names and save the changes, so this is why I want to use ID as the selector)
I have been looking at things like "selected key" and "selectedindex" but I can seem to find a way to populate the details. I tried to make a query serach but it's not working (i think beacuse ID is the identity seed?)
* I added the picture to try and explain better what I am trying to do. the part in the middle is bound to my database. It shows my database in in "details" form, not sure if it has a special title.. the others are obviously buttons. I want the middle parts to show the selected row. In Page1 RMNNo will be generated automatically and it will ask the user to enter the number of items in Page2. So in next form, all the item details i want to enter. But i cant display the second screen multiple times, I decided to create a table at run time, the number of rows will change depending on the number of items entered by the user. But in the table we may have to get some of the values from the database and display as a combo box so that the user can select from the list. So i decided to use the editable data grid.

I'm having a problem with my DataGridView. When I double-click on any column, with exception to Date & Time, the grid advances by 1. As you can see the 2nd row is highlighted in blue, I actually double-clicked on the first one, under "Sent By." (See attached image)

I am using a data grid view to display information from a database and I can't get it to update correctly.I can see the data from the database but when I change information and save it it changes the entire column's information. My rows need to have different values in the same column so this is a problem.Here is my code so far, what the program does is makes a list of transactions that are entered.
I'd like to have an updateable DataGridView that's bound to a database-driven business object. It needs to handle all aspects of CRUD and be sortable and filterable as well.
Most of them simply bind to an object (non-database, manually filled) and do not allow you to Add, Delete, and Edit records. Furthermore, they basically never show how you would perform sorting and filtering.
I think the biggest things I'm not understanding are:
1) How do you make the DataGridView perform additions, deletions, and edits on an object.
2) How do you program your object to handle additions, deletions, and edits. Do you just need methods that use ADO.Net, NHibernate, or Linq to SQL (or any other CRUD handling mechanism)?
3) How to make this filterable and sortable.
Is this overly difficult to do or why am I have so much trouble finding examples for this?
After Filling a DataTable in GridView's DataSource . A column with check box Type appears but it created as read only column and I can't enable it or make it editable... even i tried .readonly = false and still can't be edited
I have a databound Datagridview. The DGV is bound to a datatable of a strongly typed DataSet created using the wizard. Is there any way to re order the columns before displaying them eg: the Columns are displayed in the DGV in this other Col4, Col6, Col3, Col1,Col5, Col2

I realise that the display order followed the Column order in the database table and by extension, the datatable. I have re-arranged the columns in the Database but the Datatable still retains the old order.

I have a DataGridView that is bound to a DataSet I created from a database table named Contacts. The Contacts table contains a field called StatusId. StatusId is a foreign key to a table called Status. The Status table contains StatusId and StatusName.
I am making a combobox from my data source. Basically, This is a projects form and the user needs to select the the primary contact which is contrained by the customer id (GETbyCustomerID) set in another field. I have it working... mostly except the combobox only displays the contact ID which is completely useless to the user. I need to know how to display the First and Last name (both are seperate columns in the table).
