Filtering BindingSource With Multiple Tables?

I have a strongly-typed datasets created using VS data designers. In this dataset I have 3 main tables:
Patients
Users (Relationship: Users.ClinicianId > Patients.ClinicianId)
SchedAppointments
Issue is I would like to filter the datasets based the user type and a few other ways. How can I filter each table(sql query) using the BindingSource that was automatically added. I thought I read that some of the functions work against the current datamember, so I tried the following code.
WAMMTPTrackerDataSet1BindingSource.DataMember = "Patients"
WAMMTPTrackerDataSet1BindingSource.Filter = "ClinicianId = " & gClinicianId
'Users
[Code].....
It appears that what I read was either very old or never worked that way. what is the best way to handle with with a typed dataset?

Using the below code, allows me to filter a data (from the same table) in a database using checkboxes & their Tag property.

Since certain movies can belong to multiple genres & vise versa, I'm trying to alter the code listed above to filter all movies belonging to a certain genre using the GenreID found in the joint table.
Is this possible or do I need to go about this in a different way?

For a WinForms VB.Net application, I use the Bindingsource's filtering capacity to filter data, which is seen in a DataGridview. The BindingSource is from a DataSet, created using the Designer, and the data comes from a Access DB, using JetEngine and .Net 3.5. So basically:
Datagridview.Datasource = xxBindingSource
xxBindingsource.Filter = "[extended filter string with multiple columns]"
This filtering works fine, however, now I included some extra columns in the DataGridView, which I'd like to filter on, too. Of course, when I feed the manually added columns to the Filter of the BindingSource, this doesn't work out.I've done some research, and was not able to find any way to use the BindingSource's filtering syntax on the DataGridview. I'd like to use this syntax though, as I designed quite a nice UserControl and class around it, to provide smooth, fast and simple filtering capabilities.

this is for VS 2008 w/ an Access database.My database has 3 simple tables, Customer, Services and Workorder.
-Customer table = Customer ID (Customer Name, Address)
-Services table = Service ID(Service type, Cost,)
-Workorder table = Workorder ID(Service ID FK, Customer ID FK, Cost FK, Description, Date)
How I have my database set up is the Workorder table is like a linking table linking all three tables together. This is what I need out of my Windows Form.
-List view 1 contains customers names. Selecting it shows all of the customers previous workorders in the Datagrid view. (This works fine)
-List view 2 contains available services. Selecting it filters the datagrid view that was previously filtered by list view 1(customers). (This I cant figure out)
-In the end the Datagrid view would show all certain records for an individual. You when then be allowed to add the needed information and it would populate the database.All relationships were created to reflect the FKs in the workorder table.What function or coding should I be looking at to accomplish this task?

When I update a record at table [Product] with the integer that stands for [Supplier Name] from joined table [Suppliers], this does not appear in my datagridview. Instead, I have to reload the table to dataset to make it visible. What about datarelation? Is it better that loading a joined table over the dataset? Note that I have never dealed with datarelations before.. How can I make a datagrid column to show "Supplier Name" instead of recordID that represents this supplier?

I am trying to update a datagrid joining two tables with a bindingsource. I keep getting the following error: "dynamic sql generation is not supported against multiple base tables." Any ideas on how to fix the problem? Also, I realize that commandbuilder does not work for more than one table.

I have the following:
a table of addresses and a bindingsource for the table
a enum list of address type: 0 = "Mailing", 1 = "Physical", 2 = "Shipping" etc...
I would like to bind the datasource of the combobox to the enum so it displays "Mailing", "Physical" etc. Then I would like to change the bindingsource position of the address table based on the user selection of the combobox.
Here is what I have so far:

On my view there is a datatable holding a collection of ServerRow and 4 textboxes (Hostname, OS, Location, Zone). When the user types into any of the 4 boxes I want to immediately filter this list. I have this code setup and ready to go that on the set method of each textbox property I call the filter method.
Now onto the problem: if I have 4 criteria that means I have 2 to the power of 4 different scenarios. What I would like to do is write a linq statement with all of these scenarios dealt with such that if any of the properties are NullOrEmpty they will not be used in the Where clause and on the flip side if there is a value the corresponding field will be searched with a Contains.
Example
AvailableCis = New ObservableCollection(Of ServerRow)
(_CiData.Where(Function(ci) ci.OS.ToUpper
.Equals(_selectedOS.ToUpper) AndAlso
ci.HostName.ToUpper.Contains(_ciNameFilterText.ToUpper))

This example shows how it works with 2 criteria and both of those criteria are set.

I have a vb.net web application and when a particular function runs , i get data timeouts in the rest of the application..(ie..row not found errors or column does not belong to table but it does) The function is adding multiple rows in multiple tables in the database and is running in a for loop. It seems to be all SQL related but I am not seeing anything in the error logs in SQL or in the application Right now I am assuming it is memory related where to start note..the for loop will be replaced with a bulk insert but right now I jest need to resolve the issue of the timeouts

I have a bindingsource that is connected to a table where tho fields determine uniqueness. During a refresh I would like to return to the row that the user was on when he clicked the refresh button. BindingSource.find only supports one column in so far as i have been able to infer. So how doi do it. Altering the table is out of the question. Besides searching on multiple fields is a common event. Like for example first and lastname or perhaps company and journal number.

Well I have a list of things I want to search based on multiple points of data...for example Resolution, 3D capable, touchscreen capable....etc....What is the best way for display someone can think of & filtering results by capability, I have none of it typed out, etc...like list of objects & capabilities, etc... alreat...so it can be made any way that is thought to be good(with speed as well) for many different listings...say 1,000 of them & it filters pretty much instantly....reading capabilities & such & the list itself is easy but how can I make a filter(unchecking something brings back things, checking something takes away only since well your adding capabilities to filter selection....I have pictures that can go with items too as well as a name & more information could be given directly with the method or clicking on the picture/item.

i wanted to add data from a single form in vb to two tables in access but an error appears saying that the field customer_ID down to Contact_Number doesnt belong to the table record, though it really doesnt belong to that table.. but i already indicated the table for the customer_ID down to Contact_Number, which is Customer, in my sql statement...

I have a table for users (username, password .. etc) and another one for products (product name, price, quantity, username .. etc)
I want the username from the first table to be inserted (with the rest of the product info) into the product table when the user put it for sale.

how to create a local database, create some tables and set relations between those tables (just like in access) and I can show, add, edit and delete that data from a form.
but what I have yet to figure out is if I have 2 tables (i.e: tbleName, tblFood) and I want to have multiple tblFood items show for every 1 tblName item.
I've found that if I add a txtbox of the name table and a datagrid of the food table, the datagrid view shows all the food records, not just the ones for the name txtbox.

I have an ODBC connection to a database, I have 2 tables items, prices. both tables are related via a sequence field. I need a way to load the 2 tables into a datagrid, update fields and then save the changes.items-- itm_seq-- nameprices-- price_seq-- itm_seq-- price_1-- price_2Datagrid needs to show the data as suchname / price_1 / price_2Site updates some cells of the data, hits update.
The records are then written back to the 2 tables accordingly based on the sequence number.. I tried a view that extracts the data and then allows updating, but the datatableadapter will not allow an update statement to be processed against a view.

I would like to have a datagridview sourced from multiple db tables.I understand that the datagridview relies on the creation of a datatable and its relations to the separate db tables I want to view.

Im making an advanced search for a application I need to have an SQL statement that includes all the tables in my db, looks at Cell values and then output to a DGV. i have DataSet with 3 tables in it and i want to asign all 3 tables into one DataView.i know its possible to assign each table seperatly by doing this:

but i need all the tables in the dataset and not only the i based index table i also thought about using DataViewManager which can be assigned to the whole Dataset, but it doesn't have the RowFilter prophety which i am using Later on my code.

I have 3 related tables in a DataSet - Customers, Products and Orders.I am trying to create an "editable" DataGridView which, ideally, will contain columns from all the tables. I have tried creating the joins in the TableAdapter SQL, but this results in a read-only data grid.
Customers and Orders are joined in a 1:M relationship by CUSTID.
Products and Orders are joined in a 1:M relationship by PRDID.
When the user adds a new Order record they will key the ORDERID, CUSTID, PRDID and QTY.I would like the DataGridView to display the related CUSNAM and PRDDES as soon as the user has keyed the Order record.The data must be displayed on a single data grid row. I am not interested in drill down or multiple data grids.My data looks like this:
Orders: ORDERID, CUSTID, PRDID, QTY
Products: PRDID, PRDDES
Customers: CUSTID, CUSNAM
The data grid should look like this:
ORDERID, CUSTID, CUSDES, PRDID, PRDDES, QTY
My SQL would look like this:
