View 1 RepliesBasically, I am looking for a method on how to preview reports from a datagrid or it can be from the access database which populates the data to the datagrid (then displays this in the datagridview) in vb.net vs 2010.I believe there are two methods using the ReportViewer or using Crystal Reports, but so far, I have no idea how to get them to work. The first idea would be favourable - using the data from a datagridview (which may of already been sorted, filter etc) and be able to produce a report on that.

from a ddl the user will select the number of files to be uploaded using the selected number from the ddl the input controls will be enabled after selecting the files the user will click a verify button this will init a process where it will make sure that the user has selected files to upload it will also check the extention of these files if it is with in the allowed list when both return true upload button will be enabled after verification the user will click the upload button where the files will be renamed and uploaded

The above coding correctly loads images into an array of 10. I'm looking for a way to upload all 10 of them using ftp.I have only found a way to do one file at a time, but I want to loop it or something, and I can't get that to work.That FTP Upload coding errors on the line: I don't know why, but it correctly converts an image using ImageToByteArry conversion, yet it loads nothing into the byte, so it errors.
I am using vb express 2008 and MsAccess as database for my project of Point of Sale System.I am at final stages of this project and now my requirements are of making some reports and to print them. View 1 RepliesA couple of things firstly When I create a new Crystal Reports file (using the built in Crystal Reports in Visual Studio) I create a blank document. I then insert a Text label type text and goto properties and Visual Studio Exits with no rhyme or reason. No error. Anyone experienced this or get any ideas?

I would like to have another report where instead of printing all the students in one bond paper, I like to be able divide the print out into two. View 2 RepliesI'm trying to take a print on a Continuous Paper through a Thermal Printer ZP 2844 using Crystal Reports 2008 along with Visual Basic .NET 2008. I've set the page size to 3.00 inches as width & 3.00 inches as height. It prints well when the contents are a few on a single page but it puts gap when printing more than single page. There's no page margins set in crystal reports & the printing setup is the same in Crystal Reports as well as in Printer's Setup. Even in Print Preview of Crystal Report, it shows 2 pages to be printed but there's neither any gap at the end of first page & the start of second page. But! Still, a gap is shown when the report is printed. Here's an example how the print is show:

You can notice the gap between Item3 & Item4 which is due to next page or page break or so. I've noticed that in Crystal Report Viewer for Web, there's an option of SeparatePages = False which let you have a single/continuous page printing but I've not found any such option in Crystal Report Viewer for Desktop.
I am working on Windows Forms Projects.I am creating a report for customers.The report data is pulled from a "CustomerDetails" table.A field in the table is called "CustPhotoName", this holds a string which relates to an image file.
I Currently have a report set up which runs for a single customer by passing in a customer ID. Then using the passed in ID to populate a Dataset with an ImageRow and then a sub report with the image from the dataset.
I am wanting to set up this report where I can pass in an array of customer IDs and produce the reports (1 page per customer with image (if CustPhotoName has value))
So...I want to send image source to Crystal Reports document. I'm having a database of maybe 400 members and each one of them is having personal picture...i want to send that picture to Crystal Report document when I click on button for each of my members, is that possible somehow?

I really had a hard time figuring out how to code the printing of a bitmap image and some text, while sending commands (through font control) to the printer.I tried sending the escape characters with Control font, but the Graphics.DrawString of PrintPageEventArgs do not allow it.. so I used the RawPrinterHelper class I found on Microsoft KB. It worked out but, I cannot print a bitmap image with it.Anybody knows how to do that?

My app allows you to select multiple files in a grid and print them. The files are stored in password-protected zip files, so the first step I do is extract each selected file to a memory stream that I pass to a new PDF wrapper object. Each object gets added to a queue. Then, each object in the queue is printed, page by page, as a system.drawing.image. The whole thing runs on a background worker.
Now, extracting the PDFs to the queue uses hardly any memory. But in the PrintPage event handler, when I extract the images and send them to the printer, something must be going wrong. My memory usage explodes. Each image, of course, is large because it's rendered at 300 dpi, but the memory used by each page isn't being returned to the OS and neither is it being garbage collected. In the end, if I select enough files, I run out of memory. Why?
With 8 Images my Code works fine, but with 16 Images I get an Argument Exception after printing Image 10 or Image 15 in Line e.Graphics.DrawImage(_lPrintImg, rect, srcRect, srcUnit). This is my code. I already tried to dispose any loaded Image and used Image.FromFile instead of New Bitmap(file):

I am creating reports in Crystal Reports that is integrated within Visual Studio 2008, and I noticed that some of the features are disabled. One is the ability to link tables with a Right Outer Join or Full Outer Join. I also cannot "Show SQL Query" in Crystal Reports. Is this something I can enable or do I have to purchase or upgrade?

Also i am using Crystal Reports for Report solution. my question is How do i created reports such a way that they can be printed in faster Ascii Format on any DotMatrix printer. The default true type fonts make printing very slower.
I tried to use "Draft 10 cpi" font which come to available me after i installed a correct driver for my Epson printer. which also helped me overcome this problem. however it wont be the scenario with all my clients i.e. they might have different printers having different Make with different drivers installed. i have tried to open such project on there PC but the printing wont come in Draft instead the fonts get expanded too much & the print wont come right.

Because I use a .html file, the formatting would not the correct if I was to print it directly from my application (as far as I know). For this reason, I would like to print it just like my web browser would have in order to keep the tabular data intact and the text formatting.
View 1 RepliesI'm creating an application which has an scheduler to print and it checks if there is a pending job on the print queue before it prints the next file. I use a timer which checks if there is any file to be printed on my database. Example, the timer ticks and selected 10 files to be printed, it should print the 10 files 1 at a time, if there's no print queue, that's the only time the next file should print. I think another timer is required which will keeps on checking if print queue is done. How will i do this?

When I print the output to a PDF file using PDFCreator, it stacks all of the letters onto each other rather than creating new lines at the places I've specified. I've also tried using vbNewLine instead of vbCrLf, but I haven't had any luck. I searched the web for this but couldn't find anything about it.
The idea is to scan a folder of images and then let the user navigate back and forth through the images using a couple of buttons.The problem is, I can only get it to return a single image, and not the whole lot. It's looks to me as though the images are getting assigned to the same index in the array. [code]

It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...

I was thinking to make an app to save images [or download images] to local hard disk. But to keep it easy, I want this app to create a small picturebox on form to show the thumbnail of downloaded image. Lets say a 5 pictureboxes has to be added with the thumbnails to show the recent downloads. A user can save the location where he wants to save the files on hard disk. A listbox or a dropdown menu will help in categorizing the images, like image1 in friends section, image2 in family section, image3 in others, etc... When the program restarts all the latest 5 thumbnails has to be loaded in pictureboxes and the directory that was chosen. Finally, a button that shows the downloaded images into original image file size one by one or a slide show. Is it possible to make such program?
