How VB Can Focus A Specific Program And Then Send Commands To The Program Only
Aug 3, 2011I am trying to figure out how VB can focus a specific program and then send commands to the program only. The focus would only be for the commands and would not make the program you are currently in lose focus. Simply, what it is controlling is a Windows Application called GOM Player. I use it to study my material for school. I plays movies in it and don�t have to click out of the application I am working in to pause, play or rewind. The keypad and the company who make it actually have it built into iTunes and it does exactly what I want GOM Player to do.
The reason I dont just use iTunes is because I can�t get my video files to play in iTunes. After pulling teeth with the manufacture I finally to tell me that the iTunes functionality is accessible via plugins built into iTunes. So trying to mimic what is being done there does not help. I believe that a knowledgeable VB programmer could answer my question in seconds, but having some experience with coding and programing I know it also could be a lot more than what I think. [URL]
The question is: What is way that VB can send the key for the macro only to the GOM Player Application even if it is not focused or even If it is minimized.

Jun 29, 2009I want to make a program with a button and a textbox. When i click the button the program (don't know how) writes the text from the textbox in a process called test.exe. Test.exe is a cmd like window, there is only one place to write on it. How can i make it happen?

However, while the program is running, I noticed that some of the commands for windows (like saying "run") would trigger other program functions. Thus, while the VB.net program is running I do not want this to happen. Also, when the computer starts up, I speech to start listening right away rather than me having to say "start listening". Cannot Input CMD Commands?
Feb 15, 2012I'm fairly new here and based on the help that i've seen people give I though this would be a great place to ask! Basically, I'm new with coding, so I decided to work with Minecraft - specific a Minecraft Server Starter. It has a built in text box to display all the stuff that the console would normally display and an input tetbox to use commands.I have it so you can either use the Normal Minecraft Server or a Bukkit server. Basically, when I run minecraft.jar it works perfectly, I get the Output from the console and I can input commands.When I use craftbukkit.jar (bukkit) I get the Output of the console fine, but I can't input any commands... I can't figure out why it's doing this!

Execute Two Commands At Once?
Dec 31, 2009catch statements - it works well just checking my disk drive for a file, if an error is thrown then I open the disk tray and ask them to put the disk in, click OK on the message box and it performs another check for the file, if this fails the button that starts all this is disabled on my main form (the code is shown below).
Okay, so my problem is I'd like to have the message box pop up and the have the drive open up (using an API which I have) either at the same time or in the order of: message box then drive open. I can see two ways to do this: Have the commands happen at the same time (Can you even do this?) OR Have the message box appear and then open the disk drive (but how I could achieve this I don't know as the message box waits for the user to click OK... I originally though of starting a timer just before and getting it to open the disk drive tray in the tick event,

Ftp With Custom Commands?
Oct 20, 2010I wrote a program that read a text file, find some specific text and eventually replace it with other. This works fine but after the file creation I have to ftp MANUALLY to my AS400, putting the file and finally run a specific command.
Here's the question, I saw that I can use FtpWebRequest but it only permits to download, upload and so on, I need to run a custom command (passing a string).in other words here's what I need:

SQL Commands Using TextBox?
May 31, 2012So, I made a program which connects with an access database. What I want to do is to make a custom sql commands instead of using the default "Fill" command that is generated when I insert for example a textbox which is connected with a column from my access database. So here is the command I wrote:
SELECT id, aa, code, credit_date, receipt, rewards, klm, subscriptions, place, various, notes
FROM credits
WHERE code = (CodeBox.Text)
Ok what I want to do and having trouble with, is having a textbox and the user who will use this program, to type a code in the textbox and make a search with this command above. What I can't understand is how to use the text of the textbox inside an sql command. I've not made the database connection with code, but as visual basic does it automatically, TableAdapter, DataSet, BindingSource and I can make a new command using the Query Builder with DataSet Designer!

May 6, 2010I have a data driven application in <acronym title="Visual Basic">VB</acronym> which works with an SQL Server 05 Database.Since this app makes use of many queries and commands, occasionally i'me getting a timeout error as the connection pool is full. So i figured that at a specifc point in time within the app,i'll clear the connection pools using the ClearAllPools method rather than increase max pool size.
I'm using the performance monitor on my XP development machine (NumberOfPooledConnections) however not once do i see the number of Pooled Connections reset to 0 even when that method is called.How can I determine that my solution is working (if it is) before I deploy the update?
