How VB Can Focus A Specific Program And Then Send Commands To The Program Only

I am trying to figure out how VB can focus a specific program and then send commands to the program only. The focus would only be for the commands and would not make the program you are currently in lose focus. Simply, what it is controlling is a Windows Application called GOM Player. I use it to study my material for school. I plays movies in it and don�t have to click out of the application I am working in to pause, play or rewind. The keypad and the company who make it actually have it built into iTunes and it does exactly what I want GOM Player to do.
The reason I dont just use iTunes is because I can�t get my video files to play in iTunes. After pulling teeth with the manufacture I finally to tell me that the iTunes functionality is accessible via plugins built into iTunes. So trying to mimic what is being done there does not help. I believe that a knowledgeable VB programmer could answer my question in seconds, but having some experience with coding and programing I know it also could be a lot more than what I think. [URL]
The question is: What is way that VB can send the key for the macro only to the GOM Player Application even if it is not focused or even If it is minimized.

I want to make a program with a button and a textbox. When i click the button the program (don't know how) writes the text from the textbox in a process called test.exe. Test.exe is a cmd like window, there is only one place to write on it. How can i make it happen?

Is it possible to intercept any program write (to file/registry) commands and prompt the user to allow, while pausing the other program's command? Antivirus thing. I know, this seems impossible. But there must be a way! Even if it's just possible to notice what's happening and save another copy of the to-be-affected file first...

I am using system.speech currently. I want to use speech recognition to make a program. However, while the program is running, I noticed that some of the commands for windows (like saying "run") would trigger other program functions. Thus, while the VB.net program is running I do not want this to happen. Also, when the computer starts up, I speech to start listening right away rather than me having to say "start listening". I am trying to use the send keys function to send text to another program.I ahve gotten it al working well, except for using () as I know sendkeys doesnt like these.I have tried using the Replace function in several places in my code to replace the ( with {(} and {+0} etc, with various other options tried.But when I run the program, it seems to skip this out completly and leaves them in the string as (, and therefore it errors and wont run.When I step through it, it goes through the function but doesnt alter the strng as it should. I'm developing a tooltip application, in this case a small form that follows the cursor around the screen and displays a 'tooltip line' from my application when the user hovers over a certain word.
How do I keep the focus on the application where the user is working in at the moment (for example internet explorer, word, firefox etc) and keep my application floating above it? I've tried but each time my program becomes active the focus goes to my application as well.

I have a form with 7 textboxes, all describing different attributes of a used car. In the shared leave event of my tb's, I need to code a case statement which determines the particular textbox that lost focus. I then need to perform different tasks which I understand how to do, and I don't think they matter to my question.
I understand how to give focus (txtTextBox.focus()), but how do you tell if something has lost focus?
And furthermore, how would you use that to structure the case statement?

I am using Visual Basic 2010 Express. I have a program that I need to have work in conjunction with the scanner software that our company uses. how to get my program to watch for when the space bar is hit and I have also figured out how to make sure that my program's "spacebar trigger" only works when the scanner software is running.
The problem is this: If for some reason the user decides to use some other program while the scanner software is running, my program still watches for any time the user hits the spacebar. As a result that triggers the "spacebar trigger." I only want that trigger to fire when the scanner software has focus. How do I do that?

I am using VB.NET to build my application. And in my application has a lot of Forms. It doesn't use MDI Parent Form, but I use another simple Window Form (I named it frmMain) that I suppose it is my MDI Parent Form. When frmMain load, windowState = Maximized. And when I open a Form (example: I named it frmCustomer) that I suppose it is my child Form, and I set its properties (frmCustomer.TopMost=True) when it load, so it always on the top. But When I change to open another application such as Ms. Word or Mozilla Firefox... the frmCustomer is still on the top. how can I know my frmMain lost focus?

How can I set focus on other application based on process name in VB2010?
What I can do now is set focus on other application based on windows name using FindWindow then use SetForegroundWindow. Below is what I currently have[code]...
The problem is that FindWindow need exact windows name to works and I don't always know the exact name. (Because my program open up different website that the user enter, so I have no control over they site they open). So is there anyway that I can set focus using the process name instead? I'm trying to create an application in VB.net that can come to the front once a certain condition occurs (in this case, a file being created). I've tried the following code, but it just results in the taskbar button blinking on Windows 7:

I understand the reason for this, and I completely understand why people don't want any random application to steal focus (I hate it too). This is an extremely limited use application (only 3 computers will actually be using it), and the users in this case would want the application to popup in front (there will be an option to turn it off too).
Any ideas if this is still possible to do on Windows 7?

I am having problem setting focus on specific cell in my Datagridview1 . On Form1 when clicking on cell 3 in any row, I am callig a Dialog1. However, when done working with it, and closing the Dialog1, the focus returns to cell 3 in my Datagridview1 . I like to set the focus on the next cell(4) making it the current cell.
I have tryed :
DataGridView1.SelectionMode = DataGridViewSelectionMode.CellSelect
DataGridView1.CurrentCell = DataGridView1.Item(4, e.RowIndex)
DataGridView1.CurrentCell = DataGridView1.CurrentRow.Cells(4)
And few other things, I am always getting this exception: Operation is not valid because it results in a reentrant call to the SetCurrentCellAddressCore function.

I am aware that if you wish to run a program at a specific time, the best way is to add it to the windows task scheduler. I have a forms application that accepts as input a text file and some button selections before the actual main runs.
Can this kind of program be scheduled? I realize I would have to hard code the inputs but does .net have any features to access the task scheduler?

VB2005 So I've created a pretty good and simple program to query a database and then export the data to a text file. i then transfer the file to a remote server via FTP. It all works really well and i have all the functionality setup with a button event. Now that its working what is the best way to have this program run automatically every day at 9AM and then shut down once its done. Im looking into a command line and also a service but wanted to see.

I have never programmed a network program before and would like to learn at my own pace. Also I am not asking anyone to write this complete program for me, just bits of code to help me write a complete program. (though if you do code it all I won't complain.) I already tried using internet tutorials but none of them seem to work.I am trying to program a simple form with 4 buttons, and 2 users.The first button is a connectivity button. "Green" for connected, "Red" for not.The second button is a "Connect" Button which will connect to another computer with this program installed/active. (I want it as simple as possible)and the next 2 buttons switch between "1" and "0" depending on user input(Default "0"). the first button is the local user button and the second is the remote user button. When the local user clicks the local button then what he/she changes it to will be displayed at the remote site. The same thing will happen with the remote user.
I know how to place all the buttons where they belong, and to change the local text, but I have no Idea how to connect to a remote program or to pass messages between the two users. Can anyone suggest some Simple code to do this. (something that I will be able to learn and use to make more complex code later on.)

I have downloaded the vb script and it works as it should, its a program where you have some buttons so that you could trigger the relays.But i need several small scripts, one for each relay on / off so that i can call them from a .bat file with argument.i have a .bat named relaycard and in thet i have created argument like

What I have done so far is place the compiler inside the bin of my project folder, inside the Debug folder. I managed to call the cmd shell but the problem is whenever I pass commands to that cmd shell, it doesn't work. What is the best way to do this? create a form which sends emails. I want to use the System.WebMail class and not MAPI which I've seen on this forum.
