I have created a button in a UserControl. I have added that button to a WindowsForm in another app and added a buttonclick event to the code. When running (debugging) the app and clicking on the button; nothing happens. It doesn't act like a button at all.

I must have done something really, really dumb somewhere, but I don't know if I did a really, really dumb VB.Net thing or a really, really dumb Framework thing.I have a dirt simple UserControl - it consists of one Button. Nothing more.
I've been scouring the Net, but I can't find anything really useful on how to set a default button in a user control (everythings for ASP). I can imagine the brute force method of handling the keypress for each control within the control and checking to see if the Enter key was pressed, and if so, calling a PerformClick on my desired button... But I just have difficulty imagining that this will be the best method, especially on Search Controls that have 30-40 subControls on them. I've tried just handling the KeyPress event at the control level but it never gets called when a sub control has focus.
Another problem with the brute force method is that some of the controls within my UserControls are themselves UserControls containing several controls, so I would have to handle each sub control within the sub-user-controls and create EnterKeyPressed events that were raised when one of the sub-sub-controls received an Enter KeyPress. This could go on for several levels. Then I would need to handle all these events. This seems like an unnecessary layer of complexity.
Is there some way to create a routine that perhaps automates the above? Or just a simple workaround? I know I can set the Accept and Cancel Buttons of a form, but I have a form with a TabControl that has a UserControl on each tab. Each one of these tabs needs its own Default Button.

I have a UserControl, we'll call it myUC, that is one among several UserControls in the main window(myWindow) of my WPF application. myUC contains a number of standard controls, one of them being a button, we'll call it myButton.
When I click myButton, I would like to execute myMethod, which exists in the code-behind of myWindow.
The problem being that myUC doesn't have any idea that myWindow even exists, much less that myMethod exists.
How can I send the message: 'Hey, myWindow, wake up. myButton on myUc was just clicked; run myMethod'?
I have a 'DataGrid' usercontrol on my simple little form and I press a button that opens a text file and populates the DataGrid like so,

Where A, B, and C are my column headers.
I also have a 'ListBox' on the form. What I would like to do is, allow the user to select one, two, or three rows (or all) in the datagrid, and press a button that will move the data from selected rows into my listbox (each row its own string in the list box).
I can populate the datagrib easy enough, but don't know how to access the cell data individually?
Hey guys i've finished designing my UserControl (Button) for my project. However i seem to have an issue when i try to add it to a form, I get an error saying CovButton.CovButton is not defined.
Also if you have the time could you have a look over the source and just give your opinion on it? I think my drawing methods are pretty b-grade as it seems to freeze up a bit when you add an image to the usercontrol.
I am creating a VBA application using Excel 2007 and would like to make virtually all of the standard Office and Excel menus invisible to the user and present to the user only my custom menu controls. I have been successful in doing this for all objects on the Ribbon as well as those on the Microsoft Office Button Menu, with the exception of the "recently opened files list" box, that also has the "Excel Options" and "Exit Excel" buttons on it. Can anyone tell me the name of the object for this control so that I can make it invisible?

I am making a small game of pong and i want to incorporate a pause feature. is there a way i could freeze the form in place and then unfreeze it later at the push of a button. the tutorial i used is below so check it out to get an idea of what i've made so far.
I have a button on my form where I'm showing a ContextMenu when the user left clicks on it, I'm actually using MouseUp right now to show it.What I would like to have happen is the user click on the button, the button stays pressed while the ContextMenu shows, it returns to normal when the ContextMenu closes (Either a menu item was selected, the user hits the escape key or they click/tab to somewhere else). Also I'd like to position the ContextMenu in the lower left corner if the menu opens down or the top left corner if it opens up. So the left edge of the ContextMenu is flush with the left edge of the button.Moreso the button staying pressed until the ContextMenu is closed.
Edit: I'm also ok with this being it's own control inheriting the FW's Button that used the assigned ContextMenu as well.
I am Sorry but I Can not get my head around Saving data in a Form to my records (DataBase) When I Click Button1. I know how to clear the controlls when i click Button1. How Do i start The code "Do I use a SaveFileDialog1" or "Do I Look in the property settings" how the code starts. is what i have at the moment is below. also Button1 should be able to clear the controls ready for the next user input.

I believe there wont be any diff if user clicks the button on the form and the click event is fired OR if we call the button click event / function in the code. Because in one my project, this does make diff. If I click the button on the form, the App works great but same button if I click it thru the form code, the whole process crashes. This happens in Vista / VB.net.
I am trying to get a checkbox to activate and deactivate a button. While the button is deactivated it is dimmed or faded out. While Actvated the Text and button is fully visable. I did use ctype to activate the button from the checkbox.

I have numerous buttons on a form, one each to select a playing card (52 buttons). When the Card(button) is selected I want to highlight it by changing the border from black to Red, then if reclicked from change back from red to black, easy enough (if then else). I have a form containing a date textbox and a submit button and a close window button. The date textbox onblur calls a javascript function which checks for date validation and some other logic and displays some alert messages. The date on the textbox is always selected and onfocus. My problem is when I try to click the close window button with/without changing the date the alert messages from the onblur logic are displaying and I am unable to close the window. I tried using onchange instead of onblur but onchange too works when a control looses focus. it works fine when I donot change the date but when I change the date and hit the close window button it too displays the alert messages and the window does not close. Please suggest me what will be my best option.

i have 5 buttons in row (btn1,btn2,btn3,btn4,btn5) and 1 OK button when i click indivisually to each button of 5 buttons its color changes to red and after click on OK button the color of buttons which are red turns green the problem is that i don't know how to insert induvisual record of each button of which color is green in access database
I would like to recreate the behaviour of a button or command button on an user control. I need to layout a group of this user control on a form so user can select only one at a time. When users click on one of this user controls a selection frame is drawn to indicate that it has been selected. The problem I have is clearing the selection frame when other control is clicked on. How do buttons or command buttons do this? If you layout a group of buttons only one is highlighted. I have tried using different events like LostFocus and Leave and nothing seems to work.
