Using A Repeater With A Dynamically Generated Table, Ie, So Unknown Field Names?

I'm trying to produce a repeater showing amounts of money taken by various payment types into a table.Payment types available come from a global settings file as an array, I am creating a dataTable by looping this list and extracting sales reports (there might be a more efficient way than this loop, but this is not my concern at the minute).My question: How do I bind this to a repeater and display it when I dont necessarily know the table column namesI've tried various methods to give the table a header row and give the columns numerical names from a for > next loop, but am either getting no results, orystem.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the name '7'. < or whatever numberThis is where I currently am:

I am working on a CMS system for my business, and need to be able to generate notifications dynamically into a control panel. Please note, I am using .NET 2.0, coding with VB and my data is all held on a MySQL database.This is pretty simple for most aspects, but as the whole thing is dynamic some things are proving more difficult.I have a set of tags which are dynamically generated with a repeater as follows:

COUNT DATA NEEDS TO GO HERE

The data is really, really, simple, all I need to be able to do is query a table on my MySQL database for COUNT of ID WHERE locationName = Container.DataItem during each loop of the repeater... but I don't know how to do this.I'm thinking maybe I have to do this first, create a table in memory somehow, but I am afraid I have no idea how to achieve this.
Has anyone got any examples of a similar thing, it's kind of binding to a repeater from two datasources... each task is very simple, but I don't know how to put it all together!

I'm trying to get the list of field names for a given table, to turn them into a string which I can to post back as a variable to another function.I've Googled loads of stuff regarding GetSchemaTable but all I seem to be able to output are field parameters, but not the actual value of these parameters (ie ColumnName, which is the one I actually want!)

I am trying to figure out how to do this or if it is even possible. I believe it should be, I have about 20 different tables with different amounts of columns in each table. I.E. One table might only have 4 columns while another might have 30 columns. What I am trying to do is create 1 sub/funtion that will handle the select and import for all 20 different tables, unfortunately for me I can't seem to figure out how to write this.
I know the select statement for getting the column names is :
SELECT column_name FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.Columns where TABLE_NAME = 'table'

how to find a file when you don't know the name of it.For example, a file get's FTP'd to me, and I know it's going to be in the format like this FILENAMEDATETIME.txt (TESTING091410120501.txt). I will always know the first part of the filename, but I won't always know the datetime. So how do I find this file so I can do something with it.It will always go in the same folder, and the only thing that's in this folder will be this daily file that's ftp'd and there's 1 other folder inside of it.All I can think of is, I'll know the extension, the date modified will always be the greatest, and the folder location will always be the same.I'll be using vb.net to do some manipulations on the file.

Using MS Access 2007 GUI, I created an append Query, as I always have since version 2003, where I am trying to append records froma a temporary to a master table, all fields match, and keep getting the message:The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name: <field name>. My program reads a 3rd party data text file and I give the user the ability to add a row. The problem I am having is one users text file contains an extra tab at the end of each datarow thereby creating an extra column when i view it in DataGridView it gets labled "NoName"
Moving foward I get the following error upon trying to isnert a new datarow. The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name: 'NoName'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try the operation again.

I have problem in my application when updating 3 items otherwise it is as good as work. The problem is when updating the username to the access database an error showing that "Datatype mismatch" when updating the date and time field an error occurs and tells that the "Unknown field type". I have a DataGridView which populates from an SQL query just fine in default mode
using these table names

I have edited the column headers and set the column names to the same values as my table names yet the data is not showing in form load I have set datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False I know the data is there if I delete datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False then the data is shown with the default headings?

I have a question related to asp.net and vb.net. I have a repeater control that I bind some data to and allow users to update/change fields within certain text boxes. I added a validation control to trigger when the user doesn't enter a valid date or the text "TBD". On submit, I want to go through and highlight each field where its corresponding validator is not valid. This is my current code, but I am lost as to how to find the text box control.

I have a Data Repeater to which I need to add x number of images depending on their existence in the database.I need the images added within hyperlinks for Javascript functionality. In order to dynamically add the hyperlinks and images I have placed them within a panel in the data repeater and am adding them in the ItemDataBound event.The problem is that only the first image is being written to the datarepeater.[code]

However lets say for example I have three buttons created during run time, button 1, 2 and 3 for simplicities sake. Each button needs to correspond to a value (lets say one, two and three). The problem comes in when i want to, for example, click on dynamically generated button 3 and have it display "three" in a message box. But button 2 might close the program. I have a Repeater... And it has a Weight field. the weight it displayed in a textbox. I have this piece of code:
lblTotalWeightCalc.Text += NewDV.Item(i)("Weight")
This will get the Weight and display it in my label. But when I select more than one item (which will have two weights) it will show: For Example:
Item #1 : Weight = 20
Item #2: Weight= 50
The total Weight= 2050 (it doesn't add them together) I need them to be added together....

I'm quite new to Visual Basic - using Visual Studio 2008 and can't seem to find a way to do the following:
I have a few tables in a SQL Server database and have used LINQ to SQL to create classes of those tables.
Here's a cut down example of what I'd like:listbox1 filled with table names - APS, SMPS, WCPC, CFLAPS
Then from the SelectedIndexChanged event, listbox2 should populate column headers of the selected table.
I have no issues getting data from the database, and can access all of these headers through the anonymous type objects created from a LINQ query (eg APS.ID, APS.count etc), but populating a listbox with these variable names rather than the data inside them seems rather elusive.
This is probably a cross platform coding question rather than VB specific, so if you have a solution in C# or whatever I'd be happy if you could let me know.

According to the General Naming Conventions the usage of CLR type names (e.g. String, Int16) should be preferred over the usage of language specific type names (string, short). I usually follow this advice. Resharper however seems to use the language specific type names when generating code (eg. when extracting methods or generating foreach loops) which is very annoying.

So I have the following VB.NET code that creates a form field in a PDF using SyncFusion's Essential PDF module:

This works great except for one thing. When I open up the PDF in Acrobat and look at the field name I notice that it says "txt1-0". Now I can't figure out where the "-0" is coming from and how to get rid of it.

My goal is to take some form inputs and prompt the user to download a summary of everything once a certain button is clicked. I have no need for the file once it is downloaded and so I'd like to have a solution where the data is streamed directly to the user. My current solution doesn't even prompt the user for a download. I have a web browser control in my windows form. I am trying to automate some process in a website. During this process, the invoice pdf has been generated dynamically and shown in the web browser control. I need to save that pdf locally. Please note: there is no direct link to download the pdf. On my main form I have a 9 button grid that I need to fill with a gradient colour so that it represents a "heat map" going from Green (lower left) to Red (upper right). The "heat map" needs to be generated dynamically as - if I use an pregenerated image I have noticed colour variances when working on different screens / projectors as in the app there are other dynamically generated graphics & the two sets of colours need to match.So to achieve this - on my main form I have a PictureBox that I fill with the gradient colour.On top of the PictureBox I place my grid of 9 buttons.I then hide each button & take a screenshot of what is behind it & that then becomes the background image for the button. The button is then made visible.All works fine when I am testing in on a simple form The issue is that this arrangement needs to be placed on a tab control & I'm having difficulty replicating what I could do successfully on the simple form.....

The code below loads 4 Tab Pages at runtime to a TabControl. If I have UserControls in my toolbox, I can't just drag and drop the user control onto these TabPages because they don't exist yet! How do I accomplish this dynamic loading of UserControls onto the Tab Pages as they are created?

I have created a Stored Procedure in SQL which produces a pivot table. I've successfully created a GridView in ASP.NET to display this data.
However, some of my column headings are dynamically generated from the data (AutoGenerateColumns=True), and those column headings are just dates, so they will look different almost every time the table is generated.
This all works fine, except that the date format of the column headings is wrong. I know I could change the way SQL produces the dates in its output, but I don't want to do it that way. I want to control it from the web page.
I didn't think this would be difficult - I thought I could just do something along the lines of finding the cells in the header row and changing the datastringformat. The problem is that whether I put my code in the GridView's DataBound or RowDataBound event, the cells in the header row seem to be empty, so I can't reformat them. It's as if the headers get populate some time AFTER the DataBound event, but I don't know when or how to trap it.

To set the scene, I have implemented a drag and drop rearrange in a FlowLayoutPanel (thanks to a few good Tutorials) which worked absolutely fine until the client decided that he needed many Panels each contained in the Tabs of a Tab Control.Ironically the FlowLayoutPanel rearrange still works if the panel is not in the Tab Page. However the moment it is it stops functioning completely.In all honesty its probably a simple issue that I'm missing but I can't seem to find an answer. I'm certain that the issue is in the following block of code, most probably in the following place:If controlcoll(i).Bounds.Contains(mouse.X - flow.Left, mouse.Y - flow.Top) Then Either that or in a property of either of the controls.
