I have created an ArrayList with items in my Order.aspx.vb. I pass these on to my bllOrder, which passes it on to my dalOrder.

This is bugging (my head is now switched off).I have two array's, one populated with dynamic elements and the other with static values. I am trying to filter out the values that i dont want from one of the arrays:

I develop an application in vb.net and mysql server for data storage. I have a problem in my database I have something like 5000 codes stored like code, description, quantity, price, firm. I have a function to extract all the codes from database , it takes about 4,4269 ms to extract all 5000 codes with description and everything... in an arraylist. When I want to put all codes from arraylist in a textbox autocomplete, it took about 2305,400 ms and I think this is a big problem the function to put in textbox autocomplete all the items from arraylist:

What I am doing is iterating through all the groups that belong to the top group (Generic reports). Then I take advantage of the GroupPrincipal.GetMembers(True) which will recurse through a given group name. I test to see if the user exits under that group and if true I put the group name in an arraylist.
I use the for each principal in GroupPrincipal.GetMembers to loop through each returned user to see if they exist.
Is there a way to put all the returned users Principal.Name from a given group in GroupPrincipal.GetMembers into an ArrayList? This would allow me to to use Arraylist1.IndexOf to search for user. Which would be much faster then iterating through a returned list using the for each construct.

Cleared MyResearchData.arraylistRData for new data to be put in but it also clears the arraylist inside MyResearchDataAList and didn't old the contents of the arraylist
What I need to do is read an ArrayList in My.Settings and add another ArrayList to it. The first think I'm trying to do is load My.Settings.Records into myArrayList. I'm not quite sure on the proper way to do this. I've tried things such as Dim myArrayList As ArrayList = My.Settings.Records, I'm not sure if I need New and I'm not sure if I need .Clone or .CopyTo.

The problem is I keep on getting Object reference not set to an instance of an object error on the AddRange line. My.Settings.Records is definitely an ArrayList and it will sometimes = Nothing. I have 2 combobox with different items. Now i need to insert all items from combobox1 to combobox2.

So the on this application a user will click a workgoup then a location then when they add the workshop it will and the prices to gether and put them in the lstCost, while doing that it also puts the price in the lblTotalCost.Text. Now the problem I am having is when a user adds more then on workgroup and location the lbltotalCost is geting what ever the last line in the lstCost is and multiplying the last line by the index number that it is so if the last line is line 2 then it will * 2 for line 3 then *3 of what ever the price is. I am having some trouble splitting a string within an array into 2 values. For example in my textbox I have several lines of measurements that are Length x Width: 20x14, 10x8, 16x13. Each measurement is on its own line. I'm trying to split all Width values that are greater than 12 into 2 separate measurements, so with that last example, I would have 5 measurements (LxW): 20x12, 20x2, 10x8, 16x12, 16x1, then I would like to add these measurements to a new textbox with each measurement on its own line.

array2(0)... contains a collection of array1 data
array2(1)... contains a collection of different array1 data
.. and so on
i think i need to make new instances of array1 each loop, but not sure.I dont mind if it uses arrays, or arraylists, or lists, or structure of arrayslists?
s there a difference between the arraylist in visual basic and arraylist in C#? I had to convert some C# code to VB and there is a call I make in a third party api that requires me to pass in an arraylist. When I do this in C# it works just fine, but when I do this in VB, I just get back a vaque exception from the api.
