VB Project - Compare Tonnage That Have Been Produced At The Plant
Dec 7, 2007
Our company is engaged in producing asphalt. Asphalt is produced and trucked to the job site. At job site the asphalt is consumed. We need to be able to compare tonnage that have been produced at the plant to tonnage that has been consumed at the job. We need to do this by date and job number.
1. Asphalt plants (8 of them) run on Advantage data base. Each plant has its own data base containing a SalesTicket table that contains asphalt produced.
2. Job site runs on sequel server and consumption is recorded daily wireless
3. User will be able to compare tonnage produced (at plant) and tonnage consumed at job. There could be the case that tonnage is produced and never consumed or tonnage been consumed with no record of being produced.
4. User will be able to view tonnage by date and job and selecting data from one or more plants.
5. If user selects more than one plant I need to connect remotely to multiple plants like connect to plant A, execute query, store result somewhere, connect to plant B, execute query, store result somewhere, when done consolidate results from all plants selected .....
6.The finished display (datagridview) should be something like this:
Date | Job | Asphalt Produced | Job Consumed
So, how can I best consolidate all the information from plants and compare to whats been consumed at the jobs? I tried to use temp table in a sp but that does not work since I call the sp ecah time I qyery a new plant. I need to be able, somehow, to build a table with all the plant information consolidated and then compare to job information.
I have a form in my MVC application that in theory should submit data back to my database using a Repository class. However, when I submit the form ([URL]), the URL changes to where the form should be submitting to, which is fine ([URL]), but once it has been submitted, it should send the user to a confirmation page. From what I can tell, I'm moving through all my pages correctly until it comes to the submit, where it displays the form again but under /Admin/NewUser/Submit and the data is not inserted into the database.
I am having problems deploying VB-created software from a website. What is the best way to do this? Should I create a .zip file for the 4 files produced by VB?
I have an interesting project.I've been tasked to create utility in VB.Net. So far from what I can see, I will need two tables produced from data in other databases. The mockup was done in Access which has a unique way of treating all tables as local tables that can interact with one another without any serious side effects. Simply put, I can add three tables from three databases and create a relationship and query against them without any problems.I'm not allowed to write or create items on the Server, so I need to do everything within VB.NET. I've created a local MDF file that will be included in the project installation, but as I'm new to .Net. I'm not sure if this is the best practice.I was excited at the prospect that I might be able to avoid having an attached data source when I realized I could create a DataTable and call data from it. When the application shuts down, the table would disappear and the footprint would be virtually 0. But now rather than just selecting data from that table I need to now delete and insert data to the Datatable object based on AdHoc selections on the form.
I'm creating some software in visual basic 2005 .Net. My software keeps a log file. If the applications encounters an error, it writes to this log file. Is there a way I can easily produce what sub, function, or block of code that produced the error?
Example:
Sub MessageUser() Try msbox("Hello")
[code]....
Since msgbox is spelled incorrectly this will produce an error. I want to know what sub caused the error, in this case MessageUser.
I there a way to set up my DataTable so a field (or all fields can allow nulls if you can't set just 1 field) so oIDbDataAdapter.Fill won't leave out DataRows where a field contains a null value?
Dim oSqlCommand As SqlClient.SqlCommand Dim oIDbDataAdapter As System.Data.IDbDataAdapter oSqlCommand = New System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand( _
I am putting together two programs... basically one to enter data into a sql server 2000 database, and one to view the entered data and modify some fields. The data-entry part works well, but the second part is giving me some problems.ince the second part should really be a simple program, I created a DataGridView of my sql server table via drag&drop (just pulled the table from the data sources). Now I need to save back any changes to the DB. The part giving me problems is the OleDBCommandBuilder:
cBuilder = New OleDbCommandBuilder(FteuStoerungsmeldungAuftragTableAdapter)
they need to make some compare version between host version and client version.. and each 1 version different will download the file to the client..[URL]..with both example, how can i make a program in VB.NET just like i said just now?
For reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.
I have a project that I have created, it something like a contact database. It is complete with its own sql server database, and controls and forms.I kinda of understand that I can include this project into another project. This is the tricky part,Can I include my contact project into another project and add more items to the database and forms in a new project? What I'm after is like using classes. My contact database would be like the base class, and the new project would be adding more features to that project.
VB 2005 Express Visual BasicI want to move (part of) projects to different projects/ computer.I used File - export template- and was able to save templates of whole project or item(s).They saved nicely in a subdirectory called "templates" as zip files. How do I import to 1/ other project on same pc?2/ To a different computer?I tried copy zip files into corresponding folder on new system. No luck.
I made a change to a project and hve induced a major problem. I have warnings and errors now, but I can still debug the project with the "last successful build" Iwould like to just revert everything to that build but I can't find a way to eliminate the problems I induced or find a way to go to a earlier build. Hopefully I can get back to an earlier version or I will loose the entire project as I can no longer get to the designer.
If I put this piece of code in a new fresh vb.net form, add a button and two labels and start debug I get execution time of about 11.5s.If I put the same piece of code in a new form in an old project upgraded from an earlier version of vb.net, start debug I get an execution time of 7.5s.So I do exactly the same in the two projects but get different execution times.
What do I have to do with the fresh new project to get the same execution time ?I am not interested in improving the code to be able to calculate primes faster. I just want to know what is the significant difference between an old upgraded project and a new fresh one. I am using windows 7 64bit on a 2,4 Ghz Intel quadcore.
Public Class Form2 Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim l, h, p As Integer
I am following the guidelines from [URL]..Mid way through the process they have you rename your App_Code to Old_App_Code folder and compile ... at which point i had DLL's in my BIN folder and i started to repair my aspx/ascx files. e Today i find the compiled bin files missing an now all my pages are sqwaking they cannot find the numerous Public Class - Public Shared Function's ... I have verified their build action to Compile but am unable to rebuild an have them regenerate on account of project errors.Advice on how to rebuild the bin or how to properly reference a Public Shared Function? My VB code includes an Imports statement taht used to find the class in app_code.
I'm developing application that is plugable. The plugins are loaded via Assembly.LoadFrom(). In my solution I have 4 projects. A WPF, 2 DLL and another DLL that is a plugin for the app. The plugin project references one of the other DLLs. When I build the Solution and run I was getting an error trying to use the plugin dll because it was expecting an older version of the referenced project. I had to clean and rebuild the plugin project to get it to run correctly.
I am using 8 different vb projects in one solution, beside this I am also using one 3rd party control ion all the projects, while compiling the application it takes around 5 minutes to build the project, While building the application I have observe that it uses lc.exe file which is used for "Reads text files that contain licensing information and produces a .licenses file that can be embedded in a common language run time executable." at this point it takes too much time.
I new to this Forum and relatively new to VB programming. I have read some really good posts here and thought I would ask about a perplexing problem I'm having. I createdindows Form application, built it and deployed it with no problems. However, when I added a small block of code, re-built the app and went to add the app to the Project Output Group in the file system editor the project was not in the Project drop down list. I closed the Setup project and deleted it from the project folder and checked my code and re-built the app and tried the Set Up project again with the same result
Has anyone else had issues with Visual Basic 2010?My visual basic program has been running fine for months but recently every time I try and load a project (any project) the program freezes, then I have to close it down and reload, every time I load Visual basic for the second time I get the following error:
HTML
An error was encountered while opening associated documents the last time this solution was loaded. Document load is being skipped during this solution load in order to avoid that error.Plus when trying to run a project in debug it takes ages to load (around 5 minutes) this has only started happening recently, projects were loading in seconds.
Having successfully tried out nHibernate, I would now like to try using Fluent for mapping. My main project is in vb.net but I would really like to use c# for the mappings since the lambda expression capability makes it much cleaner. Can you have a separate project/assembly for your mapping files without creating a circular dependency with domain objects?
My problem is with Splash screen I added it to my project but after running that project it displays forever until I clicked on my main forum. please help me how to give a particular time to splash screen i.e., 2 seconds.
I have a multi-project .NET 3.5 solution. It's ASP.NET based with c# code-behind in all projects except one.I'm attempting to access members from a C# project called "Core" from a VB.NET project. I set a dependency to the Core solution in my solution properties. However, Core. brings up nothing. Furthermore, my other C# projects that have Core-Project as a dependency (in the solution settings), are able to declare Core objects. Example: Private Core.ObjectName InstanceName; Also, Intellisense brings up plenty of info in the C# projects.how I can hook into these members from my VB project?
Is there a tool to convert a VB.NET 2005 project to a C# 2008 project. I am trying to convert our project to VS 2008 and mostly port all the vb.NET code in some projects to C# 3.0/3.5.
I have access to a database table that has been added as a datasource in project (A). Is there any way to refer to this database table from project (B) WITHOUT adding it to project (B)'s datasource?
I have a number of independent visual basic applications. Now I want to develop a window that will have command buttons to open each of the applications. How do I write the code in these buttons?
