Has anyone have any problem when the program is running (debug mode or release). Problem starts after i type text onto the text-box and press tab(using tab stop) and then after that i can't do anything else except type on that text-box.
In order for me to continue or close it i have to use task manager to end the process.

I have an MDI running as the parent. How can you stop the forms moving to the back when they are open if you click in the any part of the MDI area. Also I notice if I have more than one form open it creates form instances on my windows task bar?

View 10 RepliesI have simple application that basically allows you to open up and view PDF files.I use an OpenFileDialog control to select the PDF file and a WebBrowser control to view the file (via the Acrobat ActiveX). Everything works great. However, I would like to also record info, from each PDF file that gets viewed, into a TextBox control (someone would read a line or two from the PDF file and type a summary into a TextBox control). Once the PDF file gets loaded, it takes the focus. But instead, I would like the focus to move the TextBox control. Changing the focus upon the Web Browser1_ DocumentCompleted event does not work (I don't believe the WebBrowser control is aware of the PDF itself, just the ActiveX control) In fact, the only way to move focus to the TextBox, after the PDF file is loaded, is to click the TextBox with the mouse. I can't �TAB into that field.

I'm trying to make it so that a textbox, label, or picturebox can move from the left side of the form to the right and off the form, then reappear again on the left side like a circular loop.. It kinda looks like how news channels like CNN or NBC have stocks sliding on the bottom of the screen. Or how at the NY Stock Exchange, theres stocks just rolling through those LED displays. I want to do that in my program but I don't know how. So far I got it to only go to the right, then when it reaches the end of the form, it reverse directions so it goes left and right to the end of the form.

I have 3 text boxes that update with each other. One the user inputs the text, two the text is used for translation and instantly deleted, and three displays the translated text. If I need to backspace the code updates the translation adding double of each letter I delete. I need a way to skip all of the application code every time the backspace key is held. My current code here (full dictionary cut to save space).

I have a form that allows users to enter information into a few textboxes. When users click save, the information will be transferred into the datagridview.
My problem now is, for instance, there is a textbox called "Price" with the datatype "money" which users are only allowed to enter numbers. If users enter alphabets, errors will occur. I don't wanna use try catch, I would like to try different methods such stopping users from entering anything into the textbox when the datatype isn't correct - nothing will appear in the textbox when users hit all the keys in the keyboard except for numbers.
Is there a way to make the textbox stop typing when a user types numbers? I don't want an error message, I'd just like the user to be able to insert 10 numbers and then it shouldn't add any newly typed numbers.[code]....

I need to limit a Textbox and DataGridView to only enter text in the fixed size of the cell/textbox on the screen. So I have limited the cell/textbox so user can not change it size. Both allow multiline and wordwrap. cell/textbox is sized to accept 5 lines of data (wordwrap or enters) This is like an online form.So the text enter will be printed so I can not allow scrolling in the cell/textbox.
How can I stop the scrolling of the text inside the cell/textbox.
Also : if the user Paste into the cell/textbox how to truncate text if larger than display area.

Alright, so I'm still working on the slot machine. I have three timers all independently going for my three "wheels" of the slot machine.
My issue, is that I'm trying to make a Stop button to stop each timer one at a time, and I'm not understanding why this code isn't working. The logic completely makes sense, and the first "wheel" stops when I click the button, however, it doesnt appear to stop the other two timers.

I created a form and have the variable inputs for 4 motor run statements. Then with a start button the script starts and it is surrounded by a for next statement to loop 10 times. It works fine but if i need to stop the execution of the script with a stop button. I put the stop in a new section but of course does not work to do a motor stop. It just causes the exe to not respond till the loop is complete. Just need to be able to stop the Run1_Click button section.
Edit:I do not mind if it finishes the 4 motor run commands and then stops execution of the loop. So need to figure out a way to trigger a stop from a button on the form to stop the cycle. For the future the loop will be a variable integer input so 10 will not be the standard.
Edit::Does a ' Do ' statement sound like the thing to use? If so how and where would I place that? Have a Stop button on the form and it would stop after the 4th motor run command.

I have a text box where i am entering numbers of double datatype andon the Keytdown event of the textbox some checks take pace and in certain circumstances I want to be able to stop the user from entering other information until they enter the right information in the textbox (where it says right here) . now when I say exit sub the textbox somehow loses focus . but this is not how I want it to be I want the textbox to remain with the focus so the user can change the information . How can i go about this. And the other thing is why is my txtDestPayRate1.Focus() just befor the exit sub not working?

I am having some bizarre issues with getting focus on the child objects of some user controls that I am developing.The base control, DatePanel, consist of three radio buttons, a textbox, a combobox, and a datetimepicker.Depending on which radio button is selected depends on which of the other controls are visible.The default state of the control has the textbox and combobox visible.When I test the control in the VS test container, I click in the textbox, the cursor appears but I cannot type, if I click in the textbox again then I can type.I have tested enough to figure out that if I click on any other control and then click on the textbox I can type.I have tried adding a gotfocus event for the user control to both Focus and Select the textbox and neither does anything.This user control is on several other user controls that are in development because I didn't catch the behave at the beginning.To make things a little stranger in one of the other controls, I found that if I set the tabindex of DatePanel A to 0 then I was able to type in the textbox after selecting it the first time, however if instead I click in the textbox of DatePanel B the cursor appears in that textbox but when I type the text appears in the textbox in DatePanel.
In terms of code on the DatePanel there are 6 properties and 3 events.The 6 properties return values of the fields on the DatePanel and the three events are for watching the state of the radio buttons.Other than that I did try adding the GotFocus event to no avail.I can provide any code that is needed but between myself and my colleagues we couldn't see anything that would have any influence over the control focus.
