I am working with a class that I need to class when ever the end-user wishes to do so. The two events are called: Remove and Add, I don't know how to call them, at all. I am using the Call command, but to do avial!! They are inside the same Class, but they are two entirely different events, that need to be called at different times, during the execution of the program's processes..

A startup form called form1
A class lets say Class1
A class lets say Class2
How can I access a method in class2 from within class1? For example in Class2 I have a method call AddToDatabase(sql as string) and in a method is Class1 I have a SQL statement that I want to implement.

I declared class 1 public and declared a public shared new instance of class11 in class1 at the top
All classes in class1.vb can use this shared instance, but a form4.vb doesnt see the shared class1.(new instance of class11)

I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?

I have a class named State that stores a lot of data regarding the current state (status) of the program (like the user's name, has he saved his work, last color he was using, etc). Before I allow the user to reset the state of the program, I want to backup the entire contents of State in case the user changes his mind and wants to undo things back to the way they were. I'm not looking for a complete undo algorithm, just a way to copy the contents of one object to another object (of the same class).

The result:Application runs, no errors or exceptions.Displayed is the listbox and the Start button.I press the start button and a msgbox says "Not Invoked" as expected and upon clicking OK to that msgbox "Start Button Pressed" is added to the Output listbox control.Immediately following that the msgbox pops up again and says "Not Invoked". I was expecting "Invoked" as a separate thread is trying to use the Output listbox control.Of course this results in the Output.Items.Add being attempted which results in no visible result as the thread is not allowed to directly update the UI control.
Is it possible to raise event in one class and handle the event in another class? If so, how?

Which is the most appropriate event to handle for this task? Right now I'm calling the updatedDb sub when the .CellEndEdit event triggers and when the .UserAddedRows event triggers.

In order to call a java class in vb, I found the following procedure and I tried.
(1) create a java class (eg: MyTest .java)
as

(2) compile to get a MyTest.class
(3)register Mytest.class using javareg.exe file from Microsoft SDK for Java using javareg /register /class:MyTest /progid:MyTest and see a MessageBox displayed with Succesfull register Class message
(4) copy MyTest.class to C:WinntJavaTrustlib
(5) open a New Project on Visual Basic. And paste this brief code on the Form Load event for example and run it. Set x = CreateObject("MyTest") MsgBox x.myfunction(1, 1)
I did all the above steps but when I run the vb program (Step 5), I get the error message "Cannot create ActiveX component". Unhandled Exception message.

Im trying to create a webform that is a representation of a paper questionnaire that has 14 questions with yes/no answers. If an answer is no, then you must provide information as to why in 3 separate textboxes and store the information only when a user clicks no.I also have 4 drop down lists that are chosen before the user answers the first question that also need to be stored with the textboxes, but the ddl's value does not change after the user starts. Right now I have 3 textboxes and a submit button for each of the 14 questions that are hidden until a user hits a "no" button, in which I change the visible property of all of them and the user then types in their reasons and submits the answer. I am currently doing this for each question and i hide/disable the textboxes and button after submitted.
My problem is that for each event on the 14 submit button's is that I'm forced to open & close an sql connection and insert the values. I know there has to be a way to simply this some so that I dont have 14 different groups of the same code. I would also like a way to eliminate having 40 textboxes on a page lol, because the idea was to have a pop up box or something open that would let the user submit it and then return to the question instead of hiding textboxes, but the user has to see all 14 questions at page load so if you got an answer to that one then that might solve my original question.

I have built a customized control inheriting the maskedtextbox in VB.NET. But i face some issues in the calling of events. For eg. if there is control named : Control1 and in the designer file i set the text property of the same to some value (Control1.Text = "test"), then the text change property is called. But i need to call the event only when the text property is changed during the run time (not while initializing in the designer file). View 3 RepliesI have been given an ASP.Net assignment at work because I had taken a few courses a couple of years ago. Currently, there are no ASP.Net programmers for me to ask here and I have searched several places (including Pro ASP Net book) to find a solution but have come up empty handed.
I have a class named spErrors which takes the values passed to it. Values passed include the offending page,function/sub, and other values and stores them in property values, then calls Response.Redirect("Errors.aspx") from the page's code behind page. In Errors.aspx, the values of the error/exception trapped in the Catch statement are displayed. This works fine from a web form. My question is, how do I call a web page from a class module?
Each class module has the ErrorHandler() procedure that passes these values to the class object. In the class, there is a Write Only property named Redirect and a method called Execute() which is used to display the error page if the error occurs in another class module. Since Response.Redirect() does not work in a class module, what namespace is needed in order for this to work?

I have a logging class that stores entries in a datatable dt. I then use SQLBULKCOPY to write that dt out to a sql table. Basic stuff. Problem is, I'd like to only call SQLBULKCOPY when there's say 50 entries in the dt. The problem is, what if I'm done (either intentionally or not, like if the code block that's using the log class throws an exception) with the logging object and there are still 15 rows in the dt?
