Any Event Built In The Class That Is Fired Automatically When A Class Is Deserialized And Ready To Be Used?
Nov 18, 2010
I have a class that is stored after serialization and compression. Is there any event built in the class that is fired automatically when a class is deserialized and ready to be used??
I'm having an issue where my main form isn't updating even though I see the event fire off. Let me explain the situation and share some of my code which I'm sure will be horrible since I'm an amateur. I created a class to take in the settings for running a process in the background. I add some custom events in that class so I could use that in my form instead of a timer.
why does finalize not get fired when i try to destroy a class until the application is exiting. i feel like because these objects were never actually finalized until the program is exiting that its somehow bogging down the operation of my app VS 2008?
I have a "partial" class in VB.NET. Half of it is auto generated by a code generation tool. That half implements INotifyPropertyChanged, so any properties in that part of the partial class raise the PropertyChanged event. In my "custom" part of the class, I declare another property that depends on one of the properties in the auto-generated side. Therefore, when that auto-generated property changes, I also want to raise a PropertyChanged event on my custom property that depends on it.
If I go into the generated part of the class and raise the event there, that will get overwritten if I ever re-generate that part, so I don't want to do that. I would rather add an event handler in my side of the partial class that checks if the generated property changed, and if so, raise another event for my custom property.

I'm assuming it's because normally you'd use the WithEvents keyword to tell the compiler that you're subscribing to events from that object. I don't have a clue how to do this inside of the class that's actually raising the event, or if that's even possible.
If Class X is within the scope of Class Y, is X a subclass of Y?If Class A is a sub Class of B, then is Class B considered a super class of A?if Class C inherits Class D is Class D a superclass or parent of Class C?if Class E extends Class F then we can consider Class E a child of F?if Class G inherits Class H and is within the scope of Class I then who is the parent of Class G? Classes that inherits Class J and classes that are within Class J are all sub classes of Class J?
When inheriting class or control e.g. ListView, TreeView, etc..., what is the best way to distinguish between built-in methods/property/events and mine?
Currently, i start my methods/property/events with "aa" in order to make them at the top of auto complete list.
I have put this code in the global form Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form. And then in the form that will inherit this from the global Inherits MenuStrip. "MenuStrip" is what the global form is called. But keep getting this error: Error1Base class 'MenuStrip' specified for class 'Lesson2' cannot be different from the base class 'System.Windows.Forms.Form' of one of its other partial types.
It is in the file ClientProfile I have placed in both App_Code and also App_Code/Models
In my code behind I have the following
[CODE]...
The last word, "ClientProfile" has the scary squiggly red line below it. It is not recognizing my class.Even the Intellisense is not picking up te class. Do I have to register the class file in any way?
I've got a class that closely resembles one of my entities (I use the class for JSON de/serialization because the entity fails conversion to JSON, one of the known gotchyas of JSON + MVC).Once I deserilize a JSON string into my object, is there a way to automatically update the associated Entity model instance. The property names are the same.
'myDeserialized is the deserialized JSON object coming over the wire Dim entityInstance As DLL.Person = db.getPersonById(myDeserialized.id) myDeserialized.update(entityInstance)
Dim a as Type=GetType(className) would gimme the type. But I have only the name of the class as string. I want something like GetType("class1") which would return the type.
I am building a code behind page that has a public property (MyDTOItem) which is essentially a DTO object (dtDTOItem) Note: In my code the Get and Set are actually real code (I stripped it for the example). The problem I am having is in the Page_Load event. When I set the .Member1 property of the DTO object the Get code runs and not the Set and therefore the DTO ibject property .Member1 never gets assigned. I figured out that if I add code (MyDTOItem = New dtDTOItem) to the Page_Load event then it will set the value correctly. What I am trying to figure out is how to initialize the property object without having to do it explicitly. It has to be an extended property because I have custom Get and Set code.
Public Property MyDTOItem As dtDTOItem Get End Get Set(value As dtDTOItem)

I migrate a project from vb6 to vb.net.In vb.net project form's events are fired randamly. I mean form_Activated event are fired first after that form_Load event are fire. and this events are fired more than one time.what condition form_Activated event fired before form_Load event.
so I used to mess around with C#, just a little. And someone had helped me make a class for Visual C# that was supposed to do the math parts for "internal structure" - which the program used for a part of its calculations and screen... Basically there were 2 options. Endo-Steel and Standard. The user would use a updownbox to determine weight of the machine and then internal structure was a % of that total. If it was standard then it was 10% of the overall weight, if it was Endo-Steel then it was 50% of standard (so 5% of total weight) rounded to next 0.5 (so .25 was .5, 1.25 was 1.5, 1.75 was 2.0, etc). I have the code for the C# class file for it, but want to make it in VB.
I'm writing a Windows Forms application in VB.Net 2008, .NET Framework 3.5, and I am trying to handle an event created by a class that get's instantiated several times throughout the program. The thing is the events gets fired in the Functions class, but nothing's happening in the main class.I tried to change the called class by instantiating it in the beginning of the main class, by using 'WithEvents testEvent as MTO_Tool.Functions = New Functions' but that also didn't work.
Code:
' The main class: Public Class MainScreen WithEvents testEvent As MTO_tool.Functions Private Sub test() Handles testEvent.SaveChanges
I am new to making events and I have read up on them to further my understanding of them, and I have come across a situation that I am stuck at. Currently I have a handful of classes (lets call them a childform) that are all inherited from a class that's a form (lets call it a parentform) with an event called UpdateData(). When these forms are created they are added into a hashtable of ParentForms then added into another form. I call on these forms through a method that returns the form from the hastable. [code]....
I have 2 classes one main class called Mygrid and another class inside it called TLBoxEditingControl which inherits a textbox into grid cell. Also I have added one Listbox called LstBox to the usercontrol MyGrid.
1) Initially its visible is false. How can i make visible true in TLBoxEditingControl class.
2) I have an Event called MyList() in Main Class, how can I raise this event in TLBoxEditingControl class.
Here is the code i use, This is not working please expalin
Public Class MyGrid Inherits DataGridView Public Event MyList()
[code]....
I have added this control to a form and added this code
Private Sub MyGrid1_MyList() Handles MyGrid1.MyList MsgBox("ggg") End Sub
In .NET I have a class called Caption. I have another class called Gauge. Within the Gauge class I have a property defined as a Caption.I am trying to figure out how to do thefollowing:When a certain property is changed in my Caption class how do I get it to execute a subroutine in the Gauge class? I am thinking I have to declare an event and AddHandlers to fire it off, but I can't think of how to accomplish this.
I have VC++ windows service running on a windows 2008 server which invokes a VB.NET exe with certain comandline parameters using CreateProcess(). VB.NET application has a form wich uses WithEvents to handle certain event. These event handlers are set in the Forms Load event. Problem here is when i debug the VB.NET application individually the application works fine, Forms Load event is getting fired. But when the exe is invoked via the windows service the form Load event does not get fired. Note the Forms Show function called and not showdialogue.
Why this was done i am not sure it was a VB 6.0 code which i have converted to VB.NET. But everything works fine when i debug the application individually on windows 2008 64 bit.
I have a datagridview that completely updates anytime changes are made to it. It is not connected to a source but rather the datagrid is filled when first launched.
Can i add an event to a Public NotInheritable Class?, in particular i would need to have an event that would listen to property change.System.Web.ClientServices.ConnectivityStatus has a property IsOffline, i would need to know when this property has changed?
