VS 2005 Entering Numeric Values Using Combobox?

I would like the user to enter positive numbers (decimal or whole numbers but no fraction) using combobox. However the user can only enter the numbers using a number key pad built in the combobox. The number key pad will appear once the user click the down arrow of the combobox (I am not sure if there any predefined feature built into vb.net 2005 that has this property). The number key pad should contain the numbers 0-9 and decimal(.).

I have a problem with the auto-complete behaviour of comboboxes in VB.NET (with the .NET framework 2.0).I am using a combobox to type in numeric values, and its DropDown list to suggest possible numeric values. This list is sorted in ascending order, for example {"10","92", "9000", "9001"}.The combobox properties are set as follow:
AutoCompleteMode: SuggestAppend
AutoCompleteSource: ListItems
DropDownStyle: DropDown
Sorted: False
The DropDown list is simply filled like this:
myCombobox.Items.Add("10")
myCombobox.Items.Add("92")
myCombobox.Items.Add("9000")
myCombobox.Items.Add("9001")
When I don't type anything, the order of values of the DropDown list is correct, in original/ascending order. However, when I start typing something, the suggested values in the DropDown list get sorted (alphanumerically): if I type "9", the list of suggestions becomes {"9000", "9001", "92"}.I would like to prevent this behaviour to get the values of the list in the original/ascending order. I can't figure out how...A possible work-around would be to pad with zeroes the values in the list, e.g. {"0010", "0092", "9000", "9001"} but I would like to avoid this.

i want to display two values from two columns of same database table..i could get only single value..eg...i want to display emp_name and emp_id in the same combobox...i dun want to use another combobox for emp_name...when displayed it should be like "emp name=XYZ and emp id=E123".

I have a combobox which contains few objects in Items. When the user selects any item from the combobox the values from the Object member variables are stored in the textboxes on the form.The user will change the values in the textbox and then he will select another item from the combobox.

I have a DGV bound to a bindingsource with a column that uses a DataGridViewCombobox, that has a DataTable for it's datasource. This all worked fine at first.But I removed a row from the DataTable that the DGV combobox uses as its datasource. Now when I try to load the form that contain the DGV, I get an error "DataGridViewComboboxCell value is not valid" for each row that contains the value I removed from the DataTable.It seems the value of the column must be a member of the combobox Listitems. Is there a way to allow values not in the combobox ListItems. I don't want the combobox listitems to be locked in for the life of the application.

I have a combox and a datagridview on a form, the combox filters the datagridview but doesnt have Distinct values. I found this on one of your post. I have a Products DB Table with ProductID, Series, Description and UnitPrice, I am trying to filter the the datagrid using the column Series with the combobox but i get multiple values of the same thing in the combobox, where i would like to make it Distinct.[code]

Is there a way to prevent a user from entering data into a ComboBox, rather then selecting, or can anyone suggest a routine to catch and prevent entries so the user can be made aware the they are not acceptable?

I have this test form where I'm testing the idea, but ran into a snag. Now the main idea is to load all the data from a dataset into the one column of the datagridview. This works perfectly as shown in the image. Now there is something that I want to happen, but just can't get it right. when on the DataGridViewComboBox Column I also want to be able to type in my own data if the one I want is not available in the combobox.
Also if there are 50 values in my combobox and 2 of them are:
jacky, jacson
When I type jac, I want the combobox to only give me the options starting with "jac"

I have a data-bound combobox that pulls values from a BindingList(of T). Combobox loads fine, correct values are displayed (I'm not using SelectedItem or SelectedValue). I'm using properties and connecting the data to the control via a bindingsource.
What I want is if the user types text into the combobox, I want the data from the bound table to change to that new text, i.e. edit the bound data directly.
Easy as pie to do with a textbox, but can't seem to get a combobox to work this way.
I was trying to use the validated event of the combobox to write the data to the datasource, but it doesn't fire when I press enter. Is that the way to do it? Can I not link the data to the combobox directly?

I am writing a mvc 3 application and part of its function is to send out confirmation emails along with an assortment of other emails.. I have the body's for the different types of emails stored in a database table.. Getting the values out of the table and dropping them in a email body using System.Net.Mail isnt a problem at all... What I need to do is somehow put somekind of variable marker in the body which is in the database table and then somehow parse the body text when its dropped into the email body to find the variable marker and put the correct value in it's spot..Code snippet of what I have so far is below:
Keep in mind that this will be a rather large body and there are a few places values will have to be dropped in.. I was thinking of having it use something like this:
Long mail body ^^Name^^ has been approved for classes starting on ^^Date^^ at the ^^Place^^ located in ^^Location^^..
When the code loades the text from the body when ever it comes across a variable marked with ^^ it would put the correct information in its place...

I have tried to use a masked edit box for this but the highlight does not seem to work. Is there a better way for entering dates. I want the user to enter the date without entering the / symbol and enter it as dd/mm/yy then format it to dd/mm/yyyy. I also want it to be highlighted when they give the control focus.

I have a datagridview with 12 columns and 30 rows I want to use as a scoreboard for a game (no need to input or save data). Columns are for the players and rows for the scores of each turn played. Say player1 has a score of 10 I type it in in his column in row1, the 10 should show up in a label as his total. His next turn his score is 100, type it in row2 and the label should show 110 as total. Hope I am clear enough, is there anyone able to give an idea on how to do this (in code if possible)?

If I have a column say "price" that has for arguments sake 800 rows and I want to use a textbox and button multiply every row by the number entered in the text box when I press the button. So lets say I want to raise the price 8.5% I'd put 0.085 hit the button it would loop through the rows and multiply each value in the "price" column accordingly.

2-At the final
3-BY NUMERICAL ORDER (I tried to put it in Sorted=True but puts that 122 is lower than 22...)

I'm using Entity Framework code first and pulling some data back from our database. In the table I'm accessing is 13 columns that store the number of a items a customer purchased per week for the last 13 weeks as a char field. I have no control over how this data is stored. I need to total the 13 weeks results together to get a combined total, so take week1 + week2 + week3.... = Total Items Purchased over 13 weeks.In SQL I'd just Cast the char to an Integer and add the values together. But I'm struggling finding a solution to do this in linq.
