I have a forum with three text boxes and one button. I need to place various lines of text into textbox1 from a list of information. The list contains hash codes and user ID and various ofter pieces of information without spaces or punctuation. Most of the information I don't need. However, I do need the first 25-30 characters and last 25-30 characters from each text.
I need to place the above line of text into textbox1 (this I'm doing through cut and past, so not a problem). Then, click button1 and have everything before "&product=" display in textbox2 and everything after "Loc%" display in textbox3. The line of text will usually not be the same number of characters. There may be 10 characters before and after those words of 50 characters before and after those two words. So, how do I create a substring or loop (or something) that will read the line of text and display what I need in textbox1 and textbox2, regardless of the amount of characters in the line of text?
[edit]Unfortunately there are multiple & and % signs in the texts. In fact, there will most likely be an & sign somewhere before "&product=". However, "&product=" only shows up once. As far as the % sign goes. There will be 3 or 4 of them in the text. To make matters more difficult, "Loc%" also shows up multiple times in the text. But, I only need the information that displays after the very last % sign to appear in textbox3, if that helps.I'm using visual basic 2008, in a Windows forms Application.
Say we have a DataGridView on the main form. I can chose to establish its properties by code or by selecting them in the Properties panel. Is there a difference between these two techniques, a loading time penalty in any of the cases especially?
I have a piece of code that would be greatly reduced if a variable can be used instead of the actual method. (I am using a structure) kinda like the difference between the following code.
I have an assignment that requires me to use a variable from an InputBox and place it on a label. That variable needs to be formatted using the P0 formatstring but results in the folowing error: Error2Option Strict On disallows implicit conversions from 'String' to 'System.IFormatProvider'.
Here's my
Option Explicit On Option Strict On Public Class MainForm
I have subfolder B in Folder A. I need to copy any TXT from B to A without hard coding the PATH. I want to make it anytime there is a txt file in Subfolder B copy it to A. The files that I need to copy are TXT files.
I have a problem when it gets published and I have hard coded the file address. Is there another way to do this that will dynamically generate the address for anyone's computer. Here is my function. I did not want to place it in my resources since I will be creating more media files that might slow down my application.
Private Sub mLesson1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles mLesson1.Cliclayer.URL = "C:UsersusernameDocumentsVisual Studio
I only need to subtract 08800000 from whats in bold, the rest will stay the same. The value in textbox1 will always begin with 0x0880xxxx I need to convert that to 0x00000000 so basically I need to subtract 08800000 from textbox1 and place the output in textbox2.
I have a project which contains a large number of lookup tables, and I have all of these lookup tables represented in a single typed DataSet, which contains TableAdapters for each lookup. I've designed an editor for these lookup tables, which should allow editing of one of these at a time. My front-end is written in VB and WinForms, the back-end is a SOAP web service; I can successfully pass the changes to the DataSet back to the web service, but can't find a way to use a TableAdapter to update the single table that has been changed.
What I'm trying to do is instantiate the appropriate TableAdapter for the updated DataTable by sending the name of the table back to the web service along with the DataSet, then referring to the TableAdapter with a dynamic name. The normal way to instantiate a TableAdapter is this:
Dim ta As New dsLookupsTableAdapters.tlkpMyTableTableAdapter
What I'd like to do is this, but of course it doesn't work:
strTableName = "tlkpMyTable" Dim ta As New dsLookupsTableAdapters(strTableName & "TableAdapter")
Is there any way to achieve this, or am I taking the wrong approach altogether? My other alternative is to write separate code for each table, which I'd prefer to avoid!
Now When I want to load Images, I am using rnd to get a random number in textbox so i am trying to get the same number in that image i.e.Picturebox1.Image = My.Resources.C & textbox1.text
I have a form with a PictureBox1, Texbox1, TextBox2, and Button1. What I want to be able to do is: Enter a name in TextBox1, and based on that "name", place an Image in PictureBox1 and insert the number of the Image in TextBox2.
Example: In TextBox1 I enter "Gia", and press Button1. The results will be a Image being inserted into Picturebox1 and the IDnumber of that image being inserted into TextBox2. All my images are stored in C:Images. My movie titles are stored in a sql database or a datagrid in the application. I'm very new at this and hopefully I explained this clearly. Thank you in advance. Here is my code. As you can see, it's hard coded. I need this to be dynamic, because the TextBox1 is a search box.
I'm looking for a way to search a string variable for two words and copy the text in between them into another variable. This needs to be done as many times as the match occurs.
I am using vb2008.net express, I test vs2005term it work, can any tell me what is the input variable and output variable of this terminal? how to catch the input and output variable to a textbox1 for sending and a textbox2 for receiving when I press send button? is that possible? I attach the example of my question this is a a good source, but it is not relate to my problem: [url]...
Currently, I've encountered a problem where I do not how I can store the variable of my battery level in a text file. I tried .xml and .txt file and it returns me text which can't be read. The code related:
vb.net [code]Dim psBattery As PowerStatus = SystemInformation.PowerStatus Dim perFull As Single = psBattery.BatteryLifePercent
[code]....
The place where I do not know what to insert is the "Insert Battery Percentage Here" part so I guess that's the problem. For your info, if you were to use a MsgBox to display, the code which displays that would be <MsgBox("Total battery power remaining: " & perFull * 100 & "%")>
I've started a simple project to copy a folder from one place to another, so far I have; one folderbrowserdialog to select the source folder, and another folderbrwoserdialog to select the destination folder, I have no idea on the code to copy from one variable location to another.
"Private Sub BrowseFoldersButton_Click2(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BrowseSourceButton.Click Dim theFolderBrowser As New FolderBrowserDialog theFolderBrowser.Description = "Please Select The Folder Which You Would Like Backed Up." theFolderBrowser.ShowNewFolderButton = True [Code] .....
Would it simply be something like: "Shell (CMD xcopy "Me.FolderChoiceTextBoxSource.Text" "Me.FolderChoiceTextBoxDestination.Text" /s)
Im having a problem loading a html file to a webbrowser in a program im writing. What it does if I press a button or menu item a form is loaded and a html help file is loaded to the WebBrowser1. here is the code
Public Class frmWeb Private Sub frmWeb_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim path As String
Just a quick question my textbox1.text seems to get focus when I run the APP.how do I cancel any focus to any textbox?I just don't want to select it or anything when I work with it only when the user select or uses it.
I'm making a program that I need to put a button in that when you click it it sends the writing in form1's textbox1 one to the email you type in dialog1's textbox1.
Basically I have a textbox and button on Form1 that when you press it opens dialogbox1. In dialogbox1 there is a textbox and a send button. I need to make it so when you press send it sends an email to the email adress you type in the textbox and the body of the email is whats in textbox1 of form1.
Let's say that you have a texbox labeled TexBox2 and you don't want it to be seen when the program runs because TextBox1 pulls information from TextBox2 and it shows up inside of TextBox1. How would you go about doing this?
