I created a custom control and add it to a form programatically.
The user can add and move them all over the form.
The problem is when I want to clear the form of my user control I don't know how.
I created an array of my control called ctlCorkNotes
Say I create ctlCorkNotes(1) and now I want to delete it.
How do I do this so it is gone and would have to recreate it to show up again?
I am programically creating a 2 buttons at runtime....I'm assigning the first button to open an image from file and display the image into the picture box. got that part.
The second button is where I am getting hung up. I want to assign the second button to delete the picture box from the form when I click on it but whenever I go to put in the code it throws an error at run time.
Anyone know of how I should code this to dispose of the picturebox when I click on my button?
In vb.net2005 i want to add and delete records programatically from DataGridView using datasource from MSAccess 2007 , and database contains fields based on date/time and yes/no .for deleting rows i am using

I'm wanting to create a form with several fields thing is, I don't know how many fields a client will need, So i want to be able to add new fields to the form with a button click and reset the form back to normal when they submit that information.

1. I have a DataGridView box, that is connected to a MySQL database via the 'Data Source'. I am trying to do the datagridview1.rows.add("info here"), however i receive an error i cannot do this programmatically. I DO know the code to post to MySQL via the "insert into" la la la.However, I was curious if I can do this via the datagridview a bit..easier/simpler, such as a "datagridview1.rows.add(stuff)" sorta thing.
2. I am attempting to make a custom control, and as with ANY control, they have their.. settings. Example, a textbox, or label, has so you can set the Text. and color, etc.Others, have it (such as datagridview) have the little icon on the control itself, where you click it, and it opens a small window with settings.
I have drawn lines and boxes on a form programmatically. How do I programmatically delete one of them? Let's say I draw a line and then a box, (using button1). How do I delete the line and not the box? Or can I?

i created a user control and inherited a textbox.is it possible to remove some of the inherited properties of the user control?like to Multi-Line, PasswordChar etc also at the Form Design, when selecting the user control, there's an arrow on the upper-right which i also want to remove.

Only regular members are allowed to enter into club and allowed to avail all services of club. Now the question is that i dont know that how the custom barcode will be created and how the scanner will be controlled with vb.net?
View 8 RepliesI created a custom control. I put it on a form with Dock = Top. I place a standard Windows Panel below it and set it's Dock = Fill. I would expect the top of the Panel to bump up against the bottom of the custom control, but instead, it goes underneath it and jumps all the way to the top of the form. This behavior does not seem to exist if I place two Panels on the form and set one to top and the other to fill. The second one bumps up against the bottom of the first one, as I would expect. But my custom control (from UserControl) does not seem to work this way. Do I have to set something special on my control?

[url] but i'm having some issues with it when it is bound to a column and then i navigate through records. it seems to trigger a row-change to all navigated records even though i haven't manually change anything on these records.
this is affecting the last_update_date and last_updated_by fields of my tables. i need to only affect records that were manually changed. can anyone help me? also, any date field should be bound to the Value property of this control instead of Text. haven't figured out how to remove the Text from bindable properties yet.

This relates to WPF but is broad enough that a winform answer will do. I have made a few custom controls in the past by inheriting from whatever particular control I wish to inherent from.
I have noticed that I can add a form to a class/user control library from the add new dialog and have it run. When this application is compiled I get a DLL.
So my question is can I use a Form as a custom control. The reason I ask is I am creating a more advanced MsgBox for a new application I require and a form as its container makes the most sense.
Any method to remove the Filled Rectangle I put on a form / control using FillRectangle method? Or do I have to over-paint it with the same colour as the form ?

When My control is loaded it needs to find all controls in my VBProject and add them into a listbox which is in Form3. Then Show the Form3. I created a custom user control named "XYZ" and It is avaialble at the toolbox menu in the design mode and I can drag and drop it to a vb.net Windows form. What I really want is to dynamically to add this user control to the Windows form during the Windows form load event. Actually I want to add this user control to a "split container" named "sc_1" on the tab page named "tp_1" on a tab control named "tc_1" on a Windows form. What is teh vb code to add a user control to a Windows form. I am using vs 2005 and dotnetwork v2.0.
View 3 RepliesI have created a custom control that is included in a control library that is referenced by a VB Forms application.
When I modify the control, and have the application open in a VS window, VS usually asks me if I want to reload items that have changed.
However, a couple of times, it has not asked me this, and when I go to open the form that contains the modified control, I get an error window warning me that if I ignore the error message and continue, then I risk making VS unstable. I've learned to ignore this error message, continue, and immediately save the form to a new file.

If I drag another Form/Program or maybe lets say a context menu happens to open over my custom Control, this happens.It does correct itself after causing a redraw, however it's quite annoying. Is there anyway to avoid this?
View 5 RepliesI'm trying to create my own control to build a custom planning on it.After trying it with loose controls I got an error but after advice on my previous post, I redraw everything.I have now the header of the control finished, the header shows the days of the month for as many months that fit in the window.Now I want to put the list of data below it, but it will be more than the windows height, so I need to have a scroll bar that will scroll the data but not the header.I would not like to design my own scrollbar and rather use the scrollbar control for it, but when I put it in, I cannot use the NEW keyword.example:

I'm coming over from VB6 in which you could use 'user controls' to create reusuable custom controls. They were simple and contained and you can easily create several instances of a user control within the same or other apps. In vb2008 there are user controls but I can not figure out how to add them to forms or or other apps. Can someone please give me the the basic steps to add a custom user control to a form or project.
