In VS2005, how could you get the current web page's source in VB.net's webbrowser object? I need to load a webpage up, and then grab everything out of the header and body tags, and then I want to replace some text inside of those tags, and then reshow the page with the updated source.

View 6 RepliesI have a program which opens up a webpage through a WebBrowser object in c#, and does a bunch of operations with it. Now I need to integrate this functionality into my own webpage.
That means that either I need to take the c# code, and somehow make it work in my webpage itself (put in a WebBrowser object, set up event handlers, etc), or I need to somehow have my webpage open this program on my server, fire an event to start, and receive input from it. It is very important for me to use a WebBrowser object (or even WebKit.Net) because there is a lot of javascript, etc on the page that needs to be processed.

View 1 RepliesI have a WinForms app in a single project written in VB.Net 2003 (legacy code). There is a MainForm and a SecondaryForm that is run by the MainForm. When I run the app thru the MainForm, I can debug with no problem. However, if I just run the SecondaryForm, I get the debug error, "There is no source code available for the current location", when stepping over,_routeId = CInt(myVar)
At this point I am no longer able to debug thru my code window, but have to use the disassembled code.

(Which seems to be happening via the below code.)When I am working on x, which should be a totally separate object, mylist is getting modified as well. How can I fix this? I have worked with lists extensively and never seen this behavior before. I have tested and reproduced the problem in .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.0 on Win 7 Pro 32bit.

I am creating a database application via visual studio, using VB.NET and with an access database. I've connected them and have been using them fine so far however I've had to make some changes to the original access database. I am unable to find an obvious way to update the current dataset object within the project from the new updated source file. My database has this new schema but the dataset has the old one so its causing conflicts. The only way I've found to do this in the past is to manually update the dataset with the changes I've made in the access file, so actually doing the same thing twice! Surely this isn't the only way? The changes I've recently made are massive so will take sometime to have to do it all again. If I delete the current datasource object and add it again, there are many errors left from the deletion. If I manually try to update the files, there's always some hidden ones I've missed. Ive found some sort of guide for updating the datasource via the dataset but what I want to do is the opposite!

I stumbled upon the statement "If Me IsNot Nothing" several times. Often I find this in WinForms samples.I dont't get the sense or meaning of this line. "Me" refers to the current Object or Form, so if I am executing this line "Me" can't be Nothing. Whenever i use browser.document.htmltext or anything like that dont get the proper source that i need.
The URL is masked so i can't use some sort of HTTP response request to get the page source.
The website only works with IE and does not behave normally like most sites.
The only way I've been able to get the source that i need is right clicking the webpage in my browser, and selecting "View Source".
How can i do this "View Source" programmicatally so i can work with the source code of the web page?
I have a session variable that changes some things about how a page looks. I have a button that changes the value of this session variable. But ... the onClick event happens after page load, so by the time I update the session variable based on the button click, it's too late, the page has already been loaded.
Theoretically I could put all the logic about changing the display into a function and call it from page load, and then call it again from the onclick after the variable as been updated. But this is impractical: there are many user controls that check the value, used on many different pages in different combinations. I would have to hard-code the list of user controls on each page, and if someone added a new user control to a particular page, they'd have to remember to update this function, which is lame.
Is there a way to force a page reload? (I can use response.redirect back to myself and it works. If all else fails I guess this is what I'll do. But it means an extra round trip to the server, which is clumsy.)
Is there a way to process the onclick before the page load?
