VS 2008 - Cannot Save Textbox Data Into SQL Database

I am currently puting together a data driven application just for fun and to get to know sql. The problem i am having is on my new customer form I cannot get the data in my text boxes to save into my database table at runtime. I simply have 4 textboxes and a save button the code for my save button is as follows:
Private Sub btnSave_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSave.Click

All this does is bring up an error in runtime. How to get that to work when I press save the details in my text boxes are actually saved into my database table.

I try to use VB .net to develop a small program. In this program, there has a form. In this form, there have several text box and toolbar. The problem is after I input text into textbox and I do not press <enter> key, I go to click save button in form's toolbar. I found that this textbox's data cannot save into database. If I press <enter> key after I input text into textbox, data can save into database properly.

Firstly I've the data in csv(delimeted file) that file in exponential number and need to convert to integer( for example [3.9888e+003, 1.0093e+002] ..need to convert to 3989,1009). how to convert it in vb2008.

I've the data in Datagridview (2 column - wavelength, absorbance) and i need to display in text box based on some reference. let say my first reference (soot it has wavelength value plus minus 2000 (range 1998 until 2002), 2nd ref NO2 plus minus 1630 (range 1628 until 1632) and others ref.
Firstly the system will find the specified wavelength in column1 (datagridview). if wavelength(column1) found in that range it will display the value in the textbox (column2- absorbance). then the information in the textbox, need to be save in oracle.

I have a tool connected to access database. It retrieves the database based on certain input conditions from 4 textboxes, 1 list box. The data from database comes to a datagridview. I have to enter certain values in a particular column in datagridview and continue with my calculations.At this stage I wan to save my file with the data I have entered so far. Is there a way i can save this data into another file (for example say " SAMPLE"), so that when I open the SAMPLE file from my tool it should display all the values I have saved in the respective controls.

Is there a way to save every time the user updates a textbox on the form? My reasoning for this is I don't want to lose all information typed into the form if they were to click on the "x" to close the form. I want the form to update whenever they type so if they forget to press a "save" button (or better yet not use a save button) the data won't be lost. I can use a textbox change event handler and code to update my dataset on every textbox in the form but it seems tedious.

I am quite new at this so bear with me. I am trying to just download data, save it row by row into a database, then upload it (sorta a backup). I am using vs2010 and VB. I created a database in access 2007, linked it to my project in visual studio 2008 (vb). When I enter some data using the UI, it does not save it in the database, and it's gone as soon as I run the program again. I dragged the textboxes from the datasource panel, onto the UI..

I can't seem to save data in the database when updating a record. The record appears to be updated and even displays the new record on my form but as soon as I close and restart the program the old record is back and no changes are made to the database. Is there something im missing here ?
