Is it at all possible to change the length of a tab in a normal TextBox. I hate how deep the tabs go. I'd like it if they were a bit smaller.
I validate TextBox for numeric and length no more then 7 characters. I'm checking for Not IsNumber and Len. But I want to give a user to save record when TextBox is blank.

If using the following in an if statement I get an error: If trg.Name.Substring(4, 6).ToUpper <> ("ABCDEF") Then I get the error: "Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name: length"
I assume this is because the string (trg.name) is too small for the 4, 6 substring. What would be the correct method of working around this problem? VB.net Studio 2008.
I cant seem to find any link or topic regarding my problem. I have 2 forms in a project, form one has labels and adjacent combobox while the other form (form 2)has textboxes with adjacent combobox. I am supposed to change the text property of the labels using textbox entry from form 2 and add/delete/change combobox contents in fom 1 using entries combobox at form 2.
View 13 RepliesI have a large number of textboxes on a form that are set to read-only until the user clicks an Unlock button. I have left the default colouring in place (no code required), so the boxes are light grey when read-only and change to white when not read-only. The problem I have is that Windows Vista's colours are so insipid and pale that it's hard to spot the difference on some monitors. It all looks good on an XP desktop but the difference is too subtle on a Vista PC.
Can the default colouring of a read-only textbox be changed? I know I can change it in code with backcolor but I don't want to put loads of code behind my Unlock button. That's the way I did it in VB6 and I want to get away from that. I just want to use the default "greying out" action when making the texbox read-only, but change to a slightly darker grey.
After I input a few sentences in a textbox, I need to find the longest sentence in the textbox by clicking a button. The longest sentence should be displayed in a MessageBox.
