I'm trying to copy a file from my.resources to a user directory thus:-

Neither work.
copying the file from one Directory to another directory by create the folder if that folder is not exists in destination directory.Example:
Source path: C: emp est1.txt
destination path: C:Data
if C:Data doesn't contains "temp" or "test" folder, it should create the folder before copy the 1.txt.[code]....

Don't know how to copy images to resources file on VB and create background change button. I am trying to add my graphics folder to the resources folder in my project but I get some kind of error. what is probably a very stupid and basic question, I'm new to Visual Basic I currently coding a program which deletes specific files that are part of a game. It finds and deletes all the files in the "program files" directorys but there are also certain files in My Documents that must be deleted.
The problem is the filepath to My Documents includes a username which is unique to different users, meaning on any other pc the program will not work.
The path on my computer is: C:UsersShaneDocumentsElectronic Arts
How can I get the program to find this folder on other computers? I'm totally lost.
When adding resources into my project. what difference it makes if I choose to copy them to the output directory?

So, I have a task where I need to basically copy about 600,000 PDFs, some of which can be 5-6 MBs from one network fileshare to another network fileshare on another pc.Now, I crawled through the directories, sub-directories etc etc and created what I call a Filename/Filepath Database lookup table. This table contains the name and the unc fileshare path of each file which comes in handy.I have used Multi-threading and File.Copy to "copy" the files and I getting about 45K files per 4 hours which I need to be significantly faster then that and I am seeing performance degrade over time

View 2 RepliesI'm making a map creator that chooses images randomly from various sets. What I'm trying to do is set up subfolders in Resources and put the different images in each folder - e.g., a folder for streets, a folder for monuments, etc. Then I just make an array of images out of the files in the folder, and pick one.
For some reason, I can't find a simple way of getting at the subfolders. I've tried using IO.Path.GetFullPath(My.Resources.ResourceManager.BaseName) and appending the folder name to the end of it, but no luck.
Is there some other way of getting the path? Is it even possible to use subfolders of Resources? Is there a better way of doing what I'm trying to accomplish? I'd really like to avoid creating the image arrays by hand.
I am having too many files in the resources folder so I want to copy the whole folder to c:/programfiles

I have security set up on it so that someone in sales can't enter the module for purchasing, etc... I authenticate the user by having them type in their network password and check it against the AD server with this function:
