I would like to create an animated menu similar to the new windows 7/Mac OS bottom menu in my new vb.net app. I have done some searching on google and cant really find anything useful. where to start with this or some example code at all?
View 1 RepliesI have a media gallery type project I'm working on, but I want to enhance it by creating animated thumbnails to "preview" the media. I have already created code to extract 10 incremented images from a pretty much any video format. Now that I have my images, I thought the most efficient way to animate them would be through a GIF. Once you have imported media to a library it will automatically generate the images, and hopefully create the gif thumbnail I'm looking for. How to generate animated GIFs in vb2010?

View 4 RepliesWell after coding a very basic image viewing application all seemed well. All animated .gif files played beautifully, all .png, .jpg, .bmp, etc, initiated well. However I've now, for some unkown reason, hit a snag. The animated .gif files still play, but they crash after a few seconds of play. Providing this error:

View 4 RepliesI am loading a specific excel file into a form using webBrowser control(I'm suing this control because this way I can open any excel file). The thing i want to do is get the contents of specific cells within this excel file and put them into a textbox. An easy way to do this seems to be plain copy/paste the contents into the textbox. I want this process to be automated, so that the user can click only one button and the selected cell's contents to go sraight to the textbox(the button would act like the copy command and then paste the contents in the textbox). Also, i would like to know if i can add this option to the right-click menu.

The menu strip should be created in the Form_Load event handler. I have to use a TextBox for user input. View 16 RepliesI've built a couple of Apps successfully, but having published them to a Network Folder, Non-Admin Users can't install them themselves because the Install attempts to create an Entry in the Start Menu. There may be other Security issues (I need 4 of the permissions included if I publish it as a Partial Trust Applications, which I think affect this) after this point that I'm not aware of, but yeah, it fails when trying to create a Start Menu item -

I think excluding the right is just part of the SOE, but is there some way I can create this and have it NOT create a Start Menu item, haven't been able to find any?

What I ended up doing is creating a custom action on commit that dynamically creates the link using Windows Scripting Host. Then on uninstall, removing the link.

Two(2) Things. I don't have the "Clickonce Option" when I select BUILD for the menu bar. I also don't have the "Step Into Option" from my DEBUG menu. Do I have a problem? Or do I need to turn something on?

View 9 RepliesFirst part of a huge block will contain some text. That block is not always visible. it will be visible when the user is inputing a control. It is drawn in a bitmap image which will later be a part of the final image of the form.The second part consist of several small bitmap images most probably will contain a letter. These images will not change but there position will keep changing by time. These images will be free to move even beneath the huge block (If visible).I used a timer with 1 sec. interval to redraw form, but when the block is visible it keeps flickering because the timer clear the form and redraw the block.
I tried to use different container for the block like the PictureBox but when the small image goes beneath the block it just disappear.The block color code is "Color.FromArgb(100, Color.Black)" I tried lower Alpha components and that didn't make any difference.My explanation is that the background of the picturebox is not transparent. If I'm right how to make the picture box transparent?

I also tried to use mousehover and mouse leave and its working! But I think the response of the button is slow, it takes 1 second before it activates the mousehover event.
