What I want to do with my application is to make it download off a direct link (not specifically mediafire) without things popping up lol. I'm not sure if if I'm even close but here's my attempt...
Dim address As String
Dim destinationFileName As String
address = "http://download772.mediafire.com/cwzuegbckADg/wimmh5jeiyz/In_Gods_Country.jpg"
destinationFileName = "C:Documents and SettingsHome2Start MenuProgramsStartup123test.jpg"
I'm not sure if anyone here uses media fire for file hosting/sharing, but I was looking for a way if it is possible to get the direct download link for my files so that it will eliminate the step for my users to need to click on a link and download the files. I want my app to goto the url where my files are, search the page for the direct url link and execute the link for them automatically, seemlessly in the background so they dont need to do anything. Is this possible?
i use a webpage in my form. the webpage has a simple script used to upload a file.so the user selects a file then presses upload.after the file is uploaded the page is refreshed showing the direct link of the uploaded file.Now when this happens i want the program to 'extract' the link and close the bwoser control.
What I need to do is link the EXE to a dll that is in another directory out there somewhere. But I don't want to use the assembly namespace. I want to be able to set the direct path to the DLL. So basically this is how its setup
J:\AppBar.exe 'The executable that will need access to the C:\testdlls\EnvVarsPro.dll 'The DLL that the executable needs to be able to find.
So far I've come to the conclusion that the answer lays somewhere in the app.config file. This is what I've got for code...
I believe this is setup write. The publicKeyToken is set to null because its not strongly signed and I'm not exactly sure what culture is just yet. But for whatever reason it just doesn't work.You can see a commented line that does work but only if the executable accessing the DLL is in the directory above root. In order to bring organization to my file structure I need to do it with everything kind of put away and not smashed into one directory.
ok got a excel export I need to down load.I must log into the site to get it, special not standard login so I can't automate that.But once I login, I can use a browser to download the file direct from a URL. Works great, but I need to make a program to do this download portion.
I'm using visual basic 2010 express..I'm building my own web browser and want to add a download manager.I have been able to build one that will download a file if I type the file location into a text box.What I'm trying to figure out is how to have the download manager open when I click on a download link on a web page.How to make the download manager know it is a link to a downloadable file as opposed to something like a link to another webpage?
How to TextBox1 Pick text of "Download able" (.exe , rar) File link , during Navigation website. on my Own Webbrowser.i m using this method for downloading file! ineed solution of Pick Downloadable link

I'm currently using VS2008 and 2010 for various projects but now I need to test something with VB2005.Anyone know a link where I can get VB or VS2005 Express edition - It's free software but just can't find it on MS's site anymore and all the ones I find elsewhere on the web are full of malware.
I have seen a couple of websites that have a dynamic download link.They ask for a valid email address and send the dynamically created download link to that address.E.X.
Every time I click on download file link, instead of the internet explorer download file dialog to come up, show my second form and in it's textbox place the download link. I have been searching for this for a long time.
I am working with buttons I have A treeview that when you click on a node it changes the text in textboxes and I need it to change the command the button does. So when a user clicks a node it changes text in 3 text boxes and changes the download link for the button. As you can see from the code all works fine but I need to use a button to download stuff and I dont know how the download code is
That's what I need the button to do Private Sub TreeView1_NodeMouseClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.TreeNodeMouseClickEventArgs) Handles TreeView1.NodeMouseClick Dim filePath As String filePath = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData) [Code] .....
I'm planning to make a program that Allows the user to type in the Download Link of another program, and then Run it. I do not want the file to be saved on the user computer.
I ran across some legacy code which creates a link to a file on the web server and offers the user a link to download the file.
Machine name: MYSERVER [URL]
Full url path to the directory containing the file to download: [URL]
Target file name: downloadable.txt
The code does the following to create a link to 'downloadable.txt' server.machinename.tostring & ".. argetdownloadable.txt"
Which results in: "MYSERVER.. argetdownloadable.txt"
That link appears on the page as: <a href="MYSERVER.. arget.downloadable.txt">download this file</a>
In IE 7, mousing over the link shows the full URL "[URL]" in the status bar. And it works fine for downloading the file in IE 7 (left or right-click). Firefox shows "[URL]" in the status bar and downloading the file isn't as straight forward. FF actually tries to change the file name to include the server name and target directory in the file name.
I've tried other methods like WebClient.DownloadFile() and had no success. This works, but I'm unfamiliar with the ".." and curious about how it works. I understand that ".." typically means go up one directory. My question was really more in the line of "how does that get interpreted in the browser to sort out the path?"
I am having trouble getting the total due for businesses to calculate correctly. Especially when I run the program and alter the amount of connections or the number of premium channels.
I am using direct 2d to render an animation... just wondering how i can render alpha channels with direct2d cause it seems to ignore it if it is done this way...I am using (to draw):
vb New LineShape(D2DItems, New Point2F(32, 32), New Point2F(256, 256), 3, renderTarget.CreateSolidColorBrush(New ColorF(255, 0, 0, 128)))
on good computers direct show works fine on vista computers that are a few years old; after playing a few (4 hours or so) videos my program crashes on this line:
[Code]....
when i say crashes it just stops responding ... i hit ctl+break and it has a green arrow on that line that means it's busy executing the constructor of the filter graph it seems to run fine on descent brand new vista machines, the memory usage is minimal on all occurrences. seems fairly constant on older machines.
Is it possible to dynamically direct a particular control's event to use a predefined method. For example: I have a form which I dynamically add controls to, let's say, TextBox1, TextBox2 and extBox3 and a module which as 3 routines, Method1, Method2, Method3. When I dynamically add my controls, eg TextBox4, I want to choose which of the 3 methods I want mapped to which event.
I was thinking of something like this... Dim objTextBox1 as new TextBox dim NameOfRoutine$="Module.Method2" Form.Controls.Add(objTextBox1) Call AssignMethodToEvent(objTextBox1.GotFocus, NameOfRoutine$)
