VS 2008 List Folders In A Directory With Listbox?

May 18, 2009

I'm trying to make a program that will list all the sub-directories in a directory then list all the files in a sub directory in another listbox when you select a directory from the first listbox, what I am stuck on is listing the folders.

Dim folderInfo As New IO.DirectoryInfo("c:windows")
Dim arrFilesInFolder() As IO.FileInfo
Dim fileInFolder As IO.FileInfo

[Code]....

This code lists all the files in a directory but not the folders, I want it to do the complete opposite.

MoveMemory, CopyMemory, Fixed Stucture Conversion?

Apr 22, 2010

i use .NET 08 for programming; i have old vb6 application to porting and the only think that i can't convert is moving fixed structure in string using movememory and copymemory. The request is: read a line of sequenzial file, this line is a fixed string concatenation; in vb6 i use movememory to move this string to a tructure with fixed lengh. Then i need the contrary, modify a structure and then move it to a string for writing to a file, in vb6 i use copymemory.

Here a litte example:

Public Type GenType
TmpMsg As String * 1000
End Type
Public Type RxMsgVAL

Make Listbox To Directory?

Mar 15, 2009

This has been irritating me for a good 2 hours now. I'm creating a simple application that takes each line in a listbox and creates a directory for each line. This seems so simple, but it's really annoying me. Once again, (just in case the above was confusing) I want to take ALL lines (each individual one) and create directories (folders) for each individual line in the listbox.

[2008] Copying From One Listbox To Another And Keeping The Paths Of The Files In The Listbox's

Jan 26, 2009

I am having problems with copying from one listbox to another and keeping the paths of the files in the listbox's. At the moment i have two listbox's, listbox1 shows the list of files without the directory paths showing. Listbox2 is used to add items from listbox1 which work ok but what i need is to be able to preserve the directory paths to each file. how to do this and have searched high and low for a solution without any luck.

I have worked out one way of doing it but i think there is a better way of doing it as the reverse does not seem to work. So basicly i want listbox1 to list the files without the paths and pass it on to listbox2 so that the files can be copied to temp directory as they are being add to listbox2.

Below is my

[CODE]...................

Routine to add items from listbox1 to listbox2: I have created another listbox3 (which is in bold), which is hidded under listbox1 and holds all the paths to the files and is use to copy the files from there original directory to a new directory.

[CODE]...................

Routine to add items back to listbox1 and remove them from listbox2. I have created another listbox4 which is hidden under listbox2 which i was trying add the paths from listbox3.

Directory Items TO Listbox Items?

Mar 17, 2009

I'm making an application that does some stuff involving the given subject, so this is very crucial to the completion and efficiency of my application. What I'm in need of today is simple (well, "seems" simple). I have one listbox that I want to populate with directories file's names. I don't mean the files inside the directories, but the names of the folders inside the directory. So, I have "c:empdog", I'd click on my button or whatever and search for the directory and I choose "temp", said listbox would show "dog".

UPDATE: Oh, BTW. It doesn't HAVE to be a listbox, it can be anything (IE: Textbox, Labels, Etc.).
