I am making a booking system application for a sports club....In my sqlserver database I have two tables one is named as Memberships and the other is named as Bookings...Now what i want is to allow a new booking for only those customers who have a membership...In database i have joined both tables by cust_id attribute where Memberships table is parent and Bookings table is child....I want that when a new booking is tried then it should first check if the customer id is present in database or not..If it is present then the booking should be allow otherwise not...but my code either shows error first and then allows the booking Here is my code for this:

I'm currently in the middle of attempting to create a query that will be used so that the application user will be able to search the a customers id number. I'm completely new to adding queries using the query builder so I've become slightly stuck on trying to get this to work currently. I have a database which is set up and in this case the table is called 'cid' which defines the customers id column in the database, this is a primary key and the column has a data type 'AutoNumber'. I've become stuck as I'm not sure what I would have to put into the filter to make this query work.
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to figure out how to create a custom power plan in code. I've searched high and low and have come up with very little so far.
The first thing I ran into was WMI. After looking up some information, it seems that all of the WMI Power features are ReadOnly.
Then I looked into the registry. This might be a feasible option, but it's hard to say. It seems each Power Plan has a unique GUID associated with it. This isn't a huge issue, since I can create one like so:

With this method, the issue now lies in the subkeys. Each Power Plan looks like it also has a unique ID for each option in the power plan.
There are two issues with this. First, even though subkeys are the same for each powerplan on my PC, I'm not able to test others at this time. So I can't know for sure that they are the same. Secondly, I have no way of knowing which subkeys relate to which power options.
My only two other options would be an API or .NET methods.
That being said, does anyone know of any way to create a power plan or some info on it?

The customer can no longer use it because, at launch time, it claimed for SQLServer.Diagnostic.STrace v 10.0.0.0, what it did not before. The only thing I can think at is that I have also recently installed VS 2010 on my PC. Does it change the way VS 2008 work ? How can I solve this issue on the customer PC ?
View 2 Repliesi'm tying to send email in my application directly by the smtp server but the server doesn't allow me to do that.The application its used by everyone in the company, so i set the smtp client UseDefaultCredentials to True, but the server replies with this when i try to send an email:[code].....If i set the credentials by hand, the server sends the email. So my problem is how to make this work to everyone? I don't want to have one public/friend var all time in the application with the credentials of the current user?

I have developed a VB.NET program using a strongly typed dataset. This dataset has its connection to a SQL Server 2008 R2. The software should now be additionally used offline. The database should be exported to a *.sdf database. If no connection to the SQL server is produced, the software have to try to connect to the *.sdf database.I would like to achieve:
1. Export the data in the SQL Server 2008 R2 database to a local *.sdf file.
2. This *.sdf file has to work as an alternate connection string in the strongly typed dataset.

We are currently using Access 97 as our database. This resides on the remote farm server (which is a Windows 2008 R2 server). We are using a front end vb6 exe which accesses the back end data.Occasionally we are getting corruption to our database and we have to make sure everyone exits the software to allow us to repair/compact it. There are 2 physical servers, each running 2 virtual machines. When the user logs onto the farm using RDP, they go to one of these 4 virtual machines.We are getting all kinds of corruption, some where # characters have been inserted into the top of one table, some where the indexes are corrupted, and some where access needs to repair the database.

This returns this error "Syntax error in FROM clause." I'm guessing my SQL code is wrong. I noticed when I placed the order in the order page it added an entry in the Access database where the generated CustomerID was 12 on the customers table and 4 in the orders table. Shouldn't these numbers be the same when they are generated?

View 2 RepliesWe recently upgraded our job server to Windows Server 2008. We have jobs we run manually in a folder (c:Custom Programs). Some programs are console programs others are have a gui. This one program has a gui.It also has a progress bar that shows the progress of the job when you click the go button. Of course it spawns a thread to do the processing. This thread creates a log file to write errors and other things too.
The problem is when the program goes to create the log file an access not authorized error is thrown. I checked the permission on the folder. All users are allowed to create/edit/append/execute. Pretty much everything except take ownership. Also, there's nothing that denies anything. So I see no reason why this isn't working. We can get this to work by using the run as administrator option when we first run the program. However, we don't view this as unacceptable solution. My only thought is the spawned thread isn't getting the same permission set as the program. Am I correct or does something think it's something else.

I working on a program that I am trying to create a customer data form.Along with the form I have their vehicles related to that record.Now I have setup a dataset in the form.I am pulling data from the database, however when I enter a new record on the customer part the customerID is in the running order, everything seems to be working on in this table.But when I create a vehicle for this customer I have a running vehicle id.Example: I have in the database 4 customers.IDs 1,2,3,4 customer 1 has vehicle ID1,2.customer 5 has a car there 1st car but the database gives is a ID of 3.I want this customer to ID 1 for car one.My problem might be because it was set in the database as Unique Identifier.Maybe I should make the license plate the unique identifier.
