I have make a web browser and a download manager. web browser is working fine, and on the other hand download manager downloads file from given URL. When ever I click on a download link on my browser it opens in "Internet Explorer" Download Manager I want to disable this one and want to embed my download manager with this.

I am interested in building a simple GUI window using VB.net that looks more or less like the Firefox download manager (press Ctrl + J when you are in firefox to see how the window looks like). However, instead of Search, I would like to have a text space where I can enter the download URLs.
So basically, initially, I have a blank window with a clear list button and a URL text box at the bottom, as I type in the download URLs and press enter on keyboard, the text area at the top shows the download file name as well as the progress bar.
One more thing I would like to add is to have the window to automatically resize itself, meaning the more jobs I added to a list, the longer the size of the window will grow, up to a certain limit.
This is my first attempt on coding up something on the GUI side, so I am just wondering if there is anything to get me start with, is there like a package or library to get me started? Or, obviously preferably, is there already a package of something like this in VB.net?

Hey everyone, I have an tabbed browser I made, and id have to say, i use it more than IE8. So i was thinking, how can I handle when a user clicks a link that is set to "open in new tab" or "open in new window"?
Because now, whenever I click a link that is supposed to open in a new tab or a new window, it opens it in IE8.
I was wondering if there was a way to make it open in my browser, I can use the Dim funcution to make a replica for the new window function, but I dont know what to use for a new tab. Also if i dim as new form1, how can I make it open the clicked link?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

View 1 RepliesI have read tutorials on using flash applets (*.swf) in VB 6, but I can't find the same component in 2008. I have installed Flash, but the flash component doesn't show in the toolbox. If this is impossible, an acceptable substitute would be to show HTML in the form. I have tried doing this with a WebBrowser control, but linking to the HTML file itself is unreliable.

Because when I use the picturebox, I dont like to use a website, cuse if the pic is viewed a lot of times, it gets deleted from the hosting site. Assuming I have an Excel report (see f.csv) below, I open it as an Excel, embed the picture and then save.I found the following code in one of the websites. It's working but still there is a problem that it always ask me to confirm the overwriting of the file. I want to save it automatically without asking the user about it, but can't find if that's possible. See below I tried "SaveAs" and "Save" but it always ask me to confirm overwriting.

Even though I issue the commands, the EXCEL.exe still appear in the TASK MANAGER -> PROCESS after the Excel application is quit, closed and terminated.
When i close my program its still running in the task manager, how do i close it completly ?
View 16 RepliesIn Access, when you build a new query, you can add tables to the view, which is then represented by individual windows that are somehow embedded/constrained to the upper portion of the query designer. I know then typically, windows are free floating anywhere on the screen, but somehow they manage to keep it confined to a certain container area. It also appears that the windows never get a real "focus" as the title bar is always a faded shade of blue, yet, you can still click on them and move them around.
