View 2 RepliesSo I've made a program in VB 2010, and it has three comboboxes and a button to view. Now lets say my first combobox is "Type of website". The options are "search engines", "social networking" and "news". The second combobox values would depend on what the first combobox value is selected, like if it was "news" the options would be "technology", "uk", "us", and "world".
The third combobox would then use the values in the first and second comboboxes to give even more values, for example if it was "news" and "technology" the values would be "engadget" etc. Then the view button would open the selected website in an internet browser. How would I code this?

I need my application to go to a website, press a button on the website to get data, and then get the data that it shows all without the user seeing the webbrowser control. I'm doing this for a little project. The user could normally just go to the site and press the button themselves, but that would take to long. So how do you programmatically do this?

I'm trying to add a reference to the GAC version of System.Xml in a Visual Studio 2008 web site project. I right-click the project icon in the Solution Explorer, and click Property Pages. Under the References tree option, I click the 'Add' button on the right. I navigate to System.Xml in the .NET tab, and double click it (the Path it lists for System.Xml, C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727System.XML.dll, DOES exist). The dialog disappears, but... System.Xml does not get added as a reference! The list just stays the same.

1 I have a list box that has url's in em now some of this sites I'm intrested in reading news so what I want is this
When I click button i want my program to check urls that I have inb my list box and if the website has word News I want that to show up in my program by eather 1. display News found in my url list box next to the url that has word news on site or 2. if it finds news for my progy to refresh the page and only leave me resaults that have words news on it's website so basicly it has to read 1 word from site if it finds that word I want it showing next to url or I want it for it to auto refresh my list box and only live me resaults that have words news in it

View 3 RepliesI have a form which won't open properly under certain circumstances if a particular Button is set to visible = false. Under the same circumstances if the Button is set to visiblbe = true the form does open properly or if the line of code at a certain place where it is set to either visible = true or visible = false is commented out or not there then the form opens properly. If any one of the 5 phases on my form are turned on then the problem doesn't ever occur but if none of the phases are on then the problem does occur. I just found a fix for the situation but I still am not clear about what exactly is going on.

What I want is: To scan a website every 15 mins or so, (craigslist in this case), and email myself any new posts that come up. I know I need to use WebClient, but I never used that before. Another question would be how to only email when a new post is up and not receive the same email every 15 mins.
