een using excel extensively. In excel I use vlookup function to connect and retrieve data from other workbooks. I want to know how I can do it in VB. So far I have created a form. The form has say three text boxes viz (i) A unique Number (ii) Name (iii) Address. I want that when I write the unique number in the text box for unique number the other two text boxes i.e. of Name and of Address should be auto populated. I have also established and tested the connection with the access database file using ADO.NET. I do not know whether I need to write an SQL or LINQ query for this purpose or I should write some codes. What should i do it and how should i do it?
I'm attempting to use the VLookup function to look up a raw score and convert it using an excel worksheet. However, instead of returning the figure in the lookup location, its returning the value that i'm looking up. For example, i'm looking up the number 5, it should give me the value of 63 but instead of returning the value 5.
EDIT: The above code DOES work, but it does not work with the following code(returns number i'm sending). One thing I did notice, it doesn't seem to be looping through all the Subnames...I just get one result and there are 10 in the TEMP table.
I am using the followin code to insert excel data into an access table. Everythig works, but the problem is if my excel file has 10000+ rows, it takes a while to insert. Is there a better way of doing this without installing office in each client pc, that I will be deploying my app?
Private sConnExcel As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:ExcelFilessample.xls;Extended Properties='Excel 8.0;HDR=Yes;IMEX=1'" Private sConnAccess As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data
I'm attempting to copy cells, one at a time, from an Excel 2003 (or 2007) spreadsheet to a Word 2003 (or 2007) table. I'd like the code to be version-agnostic, and so am using late binding. The formatting of the contents of the Excel cell, such as color, underline, strike-through, needs to be preserved. My approach is to use a Word doc as a template. It has a table at the top which I can copy to the end of the doc, add rows as needed, and fill in the word table cells with the data from the excel spreadsheet. Unfortunately, all the formatting disappears. All I get is the text itself.
I have user form that copies data form on excel sheet to anther after the paste takes place.I need to perform a cleanup process. If the cell Value = N/A or the Cell formating is Strike thruIt need to1) Cut the Entire row 2) Shift the Row up3) Then paste the cut row into an anther sheet in the workbook
I am using VB2008 and have an integer value. How do I export it to an exisitng Excel file, I want to put it in a specific cell. Also, I may have the need to do this for an array in which I would like to put in in consecutive cell in Excel.
I'm trying to export a list of properties received from an API call out to an excel workbook. I'm quite inexperienced in the area but I'm trying to have the properties written relative to the cell (i) in the for loop. The code is this at the moment:
vb.net Public Sub BHorse_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BHorse.Click
I have and form that Copies form on excel sheet to anther after the Paste takes place I need to perform a cleanup process. I need to cut the entire row, Shift Rows up, and paste it in anther sheet in the workbook if the value is N/A or the formatting is strike Thur. I am having trouble figuring out the code here is where I got to.
'Declared Stuff Dim wbTemplateSAS As Excel.Workbook Dim rangevalue As String = LastRowtx.Text - FirstRowtx.Text + 9

is there a way of getting the screen coordinates of individual cells on an open Excel sheet, what I want to ultimately do is pass in a cell range say, "A5" into a function and watch the mouse cursor move slowly to that cell. I know this might seem a weird request. I already have a mouse move function but that accepts the x/y coords in pixel terms where excel using .TOP and .LEFT give an entirely different format?
I would like to update an Excel cell using the cell name, such as "A1", instead of using the row and column, such as (3,2). I haven't been able to do it. Here is the code I used to update the cell by row and column. How would this code be updated so that it updates the cell by cell name instead?
I want share my working of excel and want to know its alternate on VB.The above attached snapshot is of an Excel sheet. The list is saved in Access Table and Connected to DataGridView1.And I want the "VLookUp" (or its alternate VB function) brings me the Matched or Like values to a TextBox1 and TextBox2 from Column "Size of Cables" and "Current Ratings".
I work with VS2005 with .NET 2.0 and with Access DB. I have created a website using "ASP.NET AJAX-Enabled Web Site" with language C#. Is it possible to have an "INSERT" option in GridView...? I am using Visual studio 2008.I have an application that reformats an excel spreadsheet. One of the operations is to copy the contents of the cells from the source to the target sheet. One of the columns has numbers. In excel, if the column is not wide enough, it will display the numbers as "###". For instance, if i have a number 99 and the column is not wide enough, it displays "#" in that cell. The problem is that when I copy this cell to my target sheet, I get "#" and not 99.
I'm trying to make a class that reads data from an excel file, which is going to have 3 columns and any number of rows.I made a property named Data, which is supposed to return an array of Strings of all the cells in the Excel file. My problem is that I cannot convert a Excel.Range, containing a cell, into a String. I've Bolded the part of the code that causes the error.

I am trying to save an object (Class1) as string in a cell value. My issue is that from time to time I have a ComException:HRESULT: 0x8007000E (E_OUTOFMEMORY)(It is kind of random but I have not identified any particular pattern yet) when I write the value into a cell. Any ideas will be welcome
For illustration purposes: Let Class1 be the class to be converted to an Xml string. (Notice that I removed the xml declaration at the start of the string to avoid having the preamble present- non printable
