Retrieve Custom Attribute For Asp.net Checkbox?

Dec 8, 2011

I am using a repeater with the Item Template of a checkbox. Here's my checkbox template:

[Code]...

Now, I know asp checkboxes do not have a value attribute, but I read somewhere that you can put that in there and it will work the same. I'll have to look it up again to see if I read it wrong. However, just in case it is possible to put the custom attribute in there, how do I retrieve it in code behind? I looked at the source after the page is created and there is no attribute in the control that says "value".

VS 2008 Developing A Custom Component (single Signed Dll File)

Nov 26, 2011

Im currently developing a custom logging component, that we will deploy with all our applications, windows services, webapps, windows apps etc. I have a few questions of various nature. The component is a single signed dll file:

1) Which is the "safest" way to get the current directory? For example, in the config file, in the config section I have a property "logpath". The application will read this and write a log file depending in what they write:

c:myapplog (it will write a log here, create whatever folders it need) /Log (directly under the installed app directory, like c:program filesmyappLog) Log (same as above) I need something that work with both windows and web apps, for webapps it will log under the virtual directory of the aspnet app.

2) For exception handling, if nothing special is happening, like in the DAL, I get a sql server exception, is there any point in using

Asp.net - Method For Attaching A Single Key/value Pair Attribute To An Enumeration?

May 4, 2012

I'm trying to figure out what the best method is for attaching a single key/value pair attribute to an enumeration where the key is my MerchantId and the value is the corresponding TransactionKey. What I currently do is put a comma delimited string into a StringValueAttribute class:

Public Enum Merchants
<StringValue("coke,faj80785hq+faf=-1=-jfa+">
Coke = 0
<StringValue("pepsi,adfji=-901jnas++fdj98ua")>
Pepsi = 1
<StringValue("drpepper,jk878-=+9kdkdja0=a=f--daj")>
DrPepper = 2

[Code]...

Is this the most efficient way to do this? Instead of StringValueAttribute, what about creating an attribute using a Dictionary(Of String, String) since it is a key/value pair list? Or String Array or List? Maybe something in LINQ?

Custom Graphic Control Enum Property

Aug 28, 2008

I am creating a custom graphic control and I'm stuck. I have three classes -
Protected Class ControlBase' Handles common properties and onpaintPublic Class ImageControl Inherits ControlBase' handles Image propertiesPublic Class TextControl Inherits ControlBase' handles Graphic Text properties
I also have a private enum ControlType and Public property for that enum. My goal is to have either a TextControl or a ImageControl created based on the ControlType. Since this property is outside of those two classes and the base - where do I put this property and how do I call up the correct class?

Specify An Inline Array To Custom Attribute?

Oct 4, 2010

I would like to know if there's any way to specify an inline array (lets say of strings) to custom attribute on a property in vb.net.

I have the following example that doesn't compile in vb.net (.net 1.1):

Attributes.ManyToOne(New String() {"a", "b", "c"})> _
Public Property PaymentTerms() As PaymentTerms

[Code]....

I get compiler error when I feed the array to the custom attribute in vb.net. I have no problem in C#, just vb.net. What is the correct syntax in this silly language?

.net - Custom Attribute Parameter Of System.Type?

Feb 19, 2012

I'd like to auto-register the common/simple services in my unity container. I think the cleanest way to do this would be via a custom atribute.I can then examine all the (abstract) classes in an assembly and register those types with unity.The piece of information I'm missing is the interface(s) that the class wants to be registered against

eg:

Public Class AutoRegisterAttribute
Public Property ForInterface As System.Type
Public Sub New(ForInterface As System.Type)

[code]....

Note, I don't just want to find any class it implements as shown with IDisposableI've tried doing this using generics (generics can't inherit from Attribute), with a Type Parameter (Passing in IEngine.GetType results in a "Constant expression is required")
