I am using a not equal operator <> in my sql statement but it doesn't retrieve any record which is not equal to the selected date.
CODE:

I had tried to use SQL statement to retrieve data record from SQL server, but when the database grow, the query speed getting slower. I just want to get most recent 5 records, any way to make it fast? Below is the SQL

Banging my head against a wall here. I have a query that looks like this.
SELECT FirstName, LastName, Address
FROM Members
WHERE FirstName LIKE 'JOE%'
That works absolutely fine in query wizard and the DataTablePreview data window. However, when I do this.
SELECT FirstName, LastName, Address
FROM Members
WHERE FirstName LIKE ?
I get nothing when I run the fillby method. If I change the LIKE to =.
SELECT FirstName, LastName, Address
FROM Members
WHERE FirstName = ?
Everything works great. I need to get LIKE working though so I can wildcard search.
I'm using the SQL server OLE db connections if that means anything.

Using the LIKE operator doesn't work at all. When I just swap out = for LIKE. Nothing is returned.
I have a case statement which compares data by getting parameter such as "eq,ne,gt,..." and so on. Actually this method will filter data by getting filter parameter and filter value. How can I refactor below code?

Am I just being blind or does this If statement genuinely not do what it's meant to.[code]This displays the message box even though textSample is one of the letters. In my eyes that If statement should see that textSample is one of those letters and skip it, whereas if it was Z it would "Not" be equal to any of those and would therefore show the message box.

I have a DataGridView that loads an Access database when the application starts. I also have a bunch of text boxes that are bound to the same database. When you click on a row in the DataGridView the text boxes display the data for the record you clicked on.. perfect so far... now when I want to add a new record..
I do...
BindingSource.AddNew()
This removes all the data from the textboxes and I start typing away.
When im done I hit a Save button with the following code.
BindingSource.EndEdit()
It removes all the data from the text boxes but never saves to the database!

I'm using a DataGridView that gets its data from table in Microsoft Access, one of the fields is a Short Time type record (e.g 16:00) but when the DataGridView is loaded it shows the record as "16:00 12/31/1899" and never shows only the ShortTime.

I have a simple application for taking Customer orders and their Products. I am using Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition and MS Access 2007.My application uses multiple forms. One of the forms is an Add form from where a New Customer along with his/her details like address, phone, city, state etc can be added.
