When a new user enters his user name & password, I want to add these on a data table that has two columns: User, Pass. Data table information: Data Source = Login.accdb, Data table = LoginTable, Connection = LoginCn. I use visual basic 2010. So how do I do this?

Nov 29, 2009My program add information from textboxes (firstname, lastname..) to list box and i have it display like this ( all information in one line separate by space):

My next step is copy back those information to textboxes ( in same order) for editing. Here is my code; and the error VB return is "Index was outside the bounds of the array."

Jan 21, 2009 there is a tab control system. It relies on only five text boxes, and their bindings change when the tab is changed The relevant information is displayed. However, if I navigate to a different record...You can see that the same information is displayed in the tab control text boxes, and not the employee's details I just selected in the data grid or the navigation. Coping The Active Record In A Form To Another Table And Then Deleting The Record From The Original Table?
Aug 18, 2011I am leaning VB and have created a basic inventory app for work that consist of 4 tables, CurrentInventory, Surplus, Staff and Category. Each of these tables have a corresponding form. My question is with the CurrentInventory and Surplus form/tables. I want a button on the CurrentInventory Form that when clicked the current record would be transferred to the Surplus table and deleted from the CurrentInventory table.I am assuming that I could somehow use the INSERT command to copy the current record to the surplus table but I am not sure how to accomplish this.

Feb 2, 2012I have text boxes binded to table from dataset. I make changes, i save changes.. then I open database with access, i can see changes...everything is ok... Then I open application again, changes are there, everything is ok. Then I close application and go to smoke.. when I come back and open application , the new data is gone. what's happening? Sep 12, 2010I have now wasted over two days going round & round in circles with the pathetic excuse for a Help System Microsoft now makes us put up with (& nearly blown my monthly broadband data cap doing so).I have lost count of the links that do not exist.The Give Feedback option also does not work (I do not like Microsoft Outlook, & in spite of having set Windows Mail as the default mail that doesn't work either!).Every VB example I have downloaded has failed to operate as it should (if at all), so surprise, surprise nor does my implementation of what they say is how to do it! please give me the "exec summary" version of what I need, ON ONE PAGE which is: Correct way (& syntax) to (in VB code):
1 Open an existing SQL compact 3.5 database THAT IS WHERE I SPECIFY - NOT WHERE the wizards keep saying it is(it against my instructions)!
2 Search to see if a particular record exists in the database (eg WHERE ColumnName. FieldContents = ContentsImLookingFor)?
3 Retrieve the found record into my own record buffer?
3 Add the record if it does not exist?
4 Change the record?
5 Delete the record?
6 Close the database?
The rest I will do MY WAY, a thousand times faster & more efficiently than anything I've seen "documented" so far. Surely that is not a huge ask requiring GBs of "Help" garbage leading nowhere?I've only been programming for 25 years (but not in this environment),

I am attempting to fill a form with multiple rows from an access table based off of a parameterized query. My query works fine but I don't want to return one row at a time, I want to return all rows that match my query in multiple text boxes. I know that I can use a datagrid view to accomplish this, but I would prefer the look of a textboxes on a form. I have read through many books and searched the internet forums but think I may just not know what to search for as nothing has worked yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction. So far I have tried setting the text box value to the row().item(), creating a different dataset for each row, and even setting variables for the results of the query to then be passed to the text boxes. Since none of this work, I don't really have any starting code to post. If I could just get a starting point I could work from there, so don't feel the need to code anything for me, just set me in the right direction.
Adding Association (link Table Record) Without Creating A New Related Record?
Jul 31, 2011I have two tables Products and Categories with a many to many relationship. I am trying to copy the categories linked to one product (OriginalProduct) to another product (newProduct). The problem is when I execute the SaveChanges() method, I not only get the records in my linking table, but it also creates another copy of the categories in the categories table. I've tried this in many ways but here are the last couple that I've attempted:

I don't know if you can tell what I am trying to do here, so I will try to explain. I what to create for random numbers and place them into for different text boxes. I also would like to do this with combo boxes and their selected indexes. So if the combo box has 10 items in it; the new selected index would be the random number generated above.

This involves the customer giving the employee information such as name, address, postcode etc and the employee inputting that information into text boxes and combo boxes that are in the application.
What I would like to be able to do is after the customers information is given over the phone, I need to be able to send that information to a database which will probably most likely be done by button click. In this case, I'm using Microsoft Access. I'm also hoping that I can do this within Visual Basic coding.
The database is set out with multiple tables which include a customer table and a ticket table and both have multiple fields such as first name, surname in the customers table. Both of these tables are in use with the information that the customer gives over the phone.
I've already asked on other forums and people are where replying giving me third party programs that I could use to implement this, something I don't really want to do.

We convert the existing datatable into an xml file and store that xml file as a blob and while retrieving we get the blob as xml file and convert it back to datatble. It seems to be storing and retrieving the xml object but having issues while converting it back to the datatable ("End of stream - error").
