Feb 10, 2012ive got code like the code below that creates textboxes dynamically. I want to be able to click a button and delete all of these textboxes i make, however im not sure how to do this. When i tell the program to remove the TBIndex control it does not do anything. The only way i get it to work is if i put the command in the same sub as this code. This code runs in a loop by the way.
So if the loop runs one time and creates the TBIndex control and i have a line of code right after to remove the textbox, then it does not show up on my form. But if i put the command in to remove the textboxes somewhere else and run the code the loop runs abunch of times and creates all teh textboxes and the loop is complete, then the remove control part is called and nothing happens. I just need a way to clear all the textboxes off my form with like a button. I also tried painting over the textboxes with a big grey rectangle but that dindt work.

I added a column to the table manually via opening the access database and all the above approaches work for editing data stored in that column. So I believe it is something to do with the fact that the columns are created at run time.

May 22, 2012I am developing a program that makes it easier for users to log on to a website and search for specific data. I have the first portion finished in which I have a form with the Ax Web Browser control.
The web browser control navigates to a local website and automatically logs in for the end user. This is done by using code which automatically fills in the username and password and then submits the form to logon using something similar to this: WebBrowser1.Document.Forms.Item(, 0).elements("txtUsername").value = "user"
Once logged on - there is a search page which contains a combo box and list box. I am trying to set specific values for the combo box and list boxes.For example - the combo box on the website is titled: cbxDate and contains the following values: Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month.
A list box titled: lstArea contains the following values: Zone A, Zone B, Zone C, All.I am trying to figure out if there is a way through code to select, in this example, "Yesterday" in the cbxDate and "Zone B" in the lstArea on the webpage.If anyone knows of a solution, please feel free to let me know. Be advised that I am using the Ax Web Browser Control.

Ive tried using TxtTotal = Val(txt1) + Val(txt2)... in the Total1_TextChanged but nothing happens. Someone once said I should use databinding but I cant see how that would work when Im using user input as the data to be Totaled. Also I dont know a whole lot about vb as I am just learning, and databinding

I've looked up how to put images into rtbs and the only way that i can find seems to be by pasting them from the clipboardThis method works well with setting bitmaps to the clipboard but i run into a problem when i try to set a metafile to the clipboard (the report contains plots and metafiles are perfect for that kind of thing). So if there could be another way of inserting a metafile into a rtb or maybe a way to write a rtf file with a metafile in it, that would be great.

May 22, 2012I have a Form with a Tab control on it, one of the fields is the Apartment number which is a Combobox. It is displaying properly, however since it sits on one of the tabs when you scroll through the records its hard to remember what tenant you are dealing with.
I have a label on the top of the screen that shows the Tenant First/Last Name.
I also want to at what Apartment Number they are looking at.

This should be fairly simple task for experienced i am sure.So far i haven't been able to find a single working solution to accomplish that as most of the articles are written for VB / VB 2005/ VB 2008 and not VB 2010.

VS 2010 : Checking For Empty Text Boxes Before Doing Calculations?
Sep 19, 2010I'm writing a program for my class, which pretty much is an energy cost calculator. It takes 4 inputs from 4 text boxes and multiplies them, and the result is the cost. Well, now I have to come up with a way to check for empty text boxes and display a prompt to enter a number. I've tried inserting multiple codes to display a prompt and to no avail nothing has worked, I also receive the error "when casting from a number, the value must be a number less than infinity" error.
